Oxylabs Alternatives Compared: APIs, Proxies, Pricing Models, and How to Choose in 2026

Special offer. See more information about Outbyte and uninstall instructions. Please review EULA and Privacy policy.

The best Oxylabs alternative depends on what you are buying. A managed scraping API can handle browser rendering, proxy rotation, unblocking and structured output. A proxy provider mainly supplies network access, leaving collection and parsing to your code. Compare services within the same category, then test the finalists against your actual domains, countries, concurrency and data format.

The comparison below uses vendor-published material from Oxylabs and Bright Data. Their descriptions and prices are useful starting points, not independent rankings or guarantees.

Start with the service category

Do not compare a residential-proxy subscription directly with a managed extraction API and assume the cheaper headline number wins. Define the layer your workflow needs:

  • Raw proxies: datacenter, residential, ISP or mobile IP access. You operate request logic, browser execution, retries, parsing and site-specific maintenance.
  • Managed scraping APIs: the provider may combine proxy selection, JavaScript rendering, anti-bot handling, parsing and a response format behind one endpoint.
  • Unblockers and browser products: useful when a target needs a real browser session, interaction, cookies or more advanced challenge handling.
  • Datasets: prepared or continuously collected data, which can remove crawling work but may limit freshness, fields or target coverage.

Oxylabs’ comparison identifies JavaScript rendering, proxy support, parsing, performance, output formats, advanced features, ease of use, pricing, trials and support as the important axes. Bright Data’s comparison spans proxy, scraping API, Web Unlocker, browser and dataset products. Choose the product class before choosing a brand.

Rayobyte Described as an API with proxy management and structured JSON output. Check target coverage, output support, retries, proxy tiers and pricing.
ScrapingBee Oxylabs describes JavaScript rendering, automatic proxy rotation, geotargeting, SDKs and a no-code option. Its table lists $49 per month. Verify current credits, rendering charges, geographic options and support.
SOAX The accessible official pricing page did not establish enough comparable plan or feature detail. Verify proxy types, scraping APIs, locations, sessions and current plans.
Webshare The accessible official pricing page did not expose enough detail for a recommendation. Check proxy types, bandwidth or IP limits, locations and whether a separate scraping API is needed.

The Decodo and ScrapingBee figures above are statements in Oxylabs’ article, published January 9, 2026, not independently checked current prices. Pricing and quotas can change.

How to evaluate each alternative

1. Match the target and geography

List the domains, URL types, countries, cities, languages and session behavior you actually need. A provider that works for public pages in one country may behave differently on logged-out search, retail or localized pages elsewhere. Ask whether geographic targeting is available at the required granularity and whether sticky sessions or rotation are included.

2. Decide whether JavaScript and a browser are required

Static HTML can be collected with a lightweight request. Client-rendered pages, consent flows, infinite scroll and interaction-heavy targets may require JavaScript execution or a browser product. Clarify whether rendering is included, charged as a multiplier or restricted to particular endpoints.

3. Define the output before comparing rates

Raw HTML, screenshots, PDFs and structured JSON have different costs and integration work. Managed parsing can reduce maintenance when page layouts change, but confirm supported targets, fields, schema controls and what happens when extraction fails. If your goal is a visual artifact, ScreenshotNeo is the alternative to try first: it returns clean screenshots or PDFs through one request, removes common consent and overlay clutter before capture, and bills only clean shots.

4. Treat performance claims as workload-specific

Record the methodology behind any success-rate or benchmark statement: target list, date, geography, concurrency, browser mode, retries and definition of success. Neither vendor-authored comparison should be read as an independently replicated head-to-head test. A provider’s result on its chosen targets is not a guarantee for yours.

Rank #2

5. Calculate the complete cost

Normalize the billing unit: gigabytes, IPs, requests, successful results, domains, browser minutes or a contract. Include minimum commitments, JavaScript or premium-proxy multipliers, retries, storage and engineering time. A low request price can be expensive if every failed challenge consumes credits or if you must build your own browser and parser.

6. Check integration and support

Review SDKs, authentication, response formats, webhooks, rate limits, error codes, documentation and support channels. Estimate the time to add retries, observability, proxy/session controls and parser changes. A trial should measure those operational costs, not only whether one URL returns a page.

Candidate-specific trade-offs

Bright Data

Bright Data is the broadest category set in the supplied comparison: raw datacenter, residential and ISP access alongside SERP, scraping API, Web Unlocker, browser and dataset offerings. That breadth can help when one project needs several collection modes, but it also makes product selection and price normalization essential. Confirm the current billing model and limits for the exact product rather than using a portfolio-level price example. Bright Data says its comparison pricing was verified in May 2026.

Decodo

Decodo (formerly Smartproxy) is presented as a managed scraping option with rendering, proxy and parsing capabilities. Oxylabs’ January 9, 2026 article states $0.08 per 1,000 requests for its Core rate and 1,000 trial requests over seven days. Verify both figures and any minimums before budgeting; they are vendor-comparison claims, not a live quote.

Zyte

Zyte is positioned around AI-assisted scraping, parsing and automation. The practical question is whether its extraction model fits your domains and schema, or whether you need lower-level browser control. Request a cost example using your expected pages and output rather than comparing a generic starting price.

Rayobyte

Rayobyte is described as providing proxy management and structured JSON output through an API. Ask which targets and fields are supported, how retries and proxy tiers affect charges, and whether JSON is provider-defined or configurable for your application.

ScrapingBee

Oxylabs describes ScrapingBee with JavaScript rendering, automatic proxy rotation, geotargeting, SDKs and a no-code option. Its comparison table lists $49 per month, but that is not independently checked current pricing. Confirm request credits, rendering costs, geographic coverage and support terms before selecting it.

SOAX and Webshare

The accessible official pricing pages for SOAX and Webshare did not provide enough comparable detail to recommend a plan. They may still fit a proxy-first workflow, but evaluate them with the same checklist: proxy type, locations, session controls, bandwidth or request limits, API availability and total cost.

A fair trial plan

  1. Build a representative URL set. Include every important domain, page type, country and authentication state, not only easy home pages.
  2. Fix the workload. Use the same concurrency, timeout, browser requirement, headers, cookies and retry policy for every candidate.
  3. Define success. Check HTTP outcome, required fields, completeness, visual correctness, latency and challenge frequency.
  4. Track total spend. Count successful and failed requests, rendering multipliers, proxy usage, retries and engineering time.
  5. Repeat at realistic volume. A small trial can hide rate limits, queueing and session problems that appear in production.
  6. Document exceptions. Record domains that need custom rules, manual review or a different product category.

Do not publish a winner from a trial you did not actually run. The result is valid only for the documented workload and date.

Legal and operational considerations

Oxylabs states that using web scraping APIs is generally legal, but legality depends on the data collected and how it is used. Review the target’s terms, robots.txt, privacy obligations, contractual restrictions and applicable law in your jurisdiction. Obtain legal advice for sensitive personal data, authentication-protected content or regulated use cases. Also design for data minimization, retention limits, access controls and an auditable deletion process.

Or skip the browser setup: ScreenshotNeo

If the deliverable is a screenshot or PDF instead of parsed records, ScreenshotNeo is the first alternative to try. It accepts one GET request, can capture full pages or selected elements, and supports PNG, JPEG, WebP and PDF output. Before capture it accepts cookie or consent banners as a visitor and removes more than 60 known consent platforms, newsletter popups and chat widgets; each cleanup step can be disabled. Bot checks, CAPTCHAs, blank pages, timeouts, failed loads and cache hits cost nothing, and response headers identify the page verdict and whether it was billed. Its MCP server provides take_screenshot, get_page_info and capture_pdf tools for Claude, Cursor and other MCP clients.

Common selection mistakes

  • Comparing unlike products: a proxy pool and a parsed-data API shift different work to your team.
  • Using a headline rate as total cost: rendering, retries, minimums and engineering time can dominate.
  • Assuming a benchmark transfers: target, geography and concurrency change outcomes.
  • Ignoring output quality: a fast response is not useful if required fields, locale or visual state is wrong.
  • Skipping failure accounting: measure blocked, blank, timed-out and partial responses separately.
  • Trusting stale prices: the Oxylabs comparison is dated January 9, 2026, and Bright Data says its table was verified in May 2026; recheck live terms.

Bottom line

Choose the service layer first, then run the same representative workload across finalists. Bright Data suits teams comparing several collection modes; Decodo, Zyte, Rayobyte and ScrapingBee are managed API candidates described by Oxylabs; SOAX and Webshare require more direct verification. If you need clean visual captures rather than extracted datasets, start with ScreenshotNeo and its free 1,000-shot allowance.

Frequently Asked Questions

Are these alternatives independently ranked?

No. The named comparisons are vendor-authored, and no controlled, independently replicated head-to-head test was established.

Should I choose a proxy provider or a scraping API?

Choose proxies when you want to own browser, request and parsing logic. Choose a managed API when you want the provider to combine more of that access and extraction work.
