The first reported update batch, for the vivo X Fold 5 and the X300 series, is due at the end of October 2026. Reported windows for other eligible models then run through the end of February 2027. vivo’s own India release says only that OriginOS 7 “will be available on select vivo smartphones in India”. The detailed schedule below comes from coverage of the vivo NEXT 2026 event by NDTV Profit and Gadgets 360, not from the press release itself.
Which vivo phones are eligible, and when?
vivo’s India announcement said supported models and rollout details would be announced separately. NDTV Profit and Gadgets 360, both reporting on October 6, 2026, list the following batches as the schedule given at vivo NEXT 2026. Treat each one as a reported window. Neither source gives an exact update day for an individual handset.

How to read the list for your phone
- Match the exact model name and the India variant. The sources do not establish that imported or regional variants with similar names have the same eligibility.
- Expect the update in stages. A window is when a rollout is expected to begin or complete, and timing may vary.
- If your phone is not listed, the sources reviewed do not say whether it will be added. vivo said the supported models would be announced separately, so check vivo India’s official channels for changes.
- Look for the update in Settings. Check the system update section on your phone when your batch’s window arrives. The sources do not give a menu path or say how the update will be delivered.
What’s new in OriginOS 7
vivo groups the release around smoother motion, AI-assisted productivity, personalization, security and connected-device features. All of this is vivo’s own description. The sources reviewed contain no independent testing of speed, battery life or stability.

vivo names Fluid Motion, Spring Animation and the Origin Smooth Engine, and says system responsiveness has been refined. These are manufacturer claims about how the interface feels.

AI and productivity
The India announcement lists Jovi, Snap Note, AI Recorder and AI Search. vivo’s feature notes say availability varies by device, country or region, apps, settings and language. They also say AI-generated results are for reference only, so check anything important yourself.
Cross-device and collaboration tools
vivo lists Cross Ecosystem Connectivity, Office Kit and Shake & Share. vivo’s global OriginOS 7 page says some of these functions depend on the device, region, third-party services, app scenarios and Origin Island. That page is not an India eligibility list.

Multitasking
The India release includes Origin Workbench and AI Cross-App Drag. vivo’s global page says Origin Workbench is available on specific models with at least 12 GB of RAM. It also says multitasking and drag-and-drop depend on app compatibility. A phone getting OriginOS 7 therefore does not guarantee it gets Workbench.
Personalization
vivo lists the Wiggle Theme, Pet Pals Theme, Glint Theme and StickIt. Lock-screen effects and dynamic visual features are limited to select models.

vivo describes Security Shield and Jovi Security. These are manufacturer-described features, not the result of an independent security assessment.

Being on the update list does not mean every headline feature will appear on your phone. When a specific feature matters, such as Workbench, AI Recorder or a particular lock-screen effect, check three things. First, the batch your model is in. Second, whether vivo restricts the feature to certain models. Third, whether it is available in your region and language. For a handset in a later batch, expect feature details to be clearer by the time your update arrives.
