Orient Cables’ shares began trading on October 5, 2026, after a pre-listing grey-market premium (GMP) of ₹121 suggested an indicative price of ₹393. The Economic Times later reported opening prices of ₹450 on NSE and ₹448 on BSE, against the ₹272 issue price. The GMP was an unofficial estimate—not an exchange quote or a guaranteed forecast.
What the GMP indicated—and what the shares opened at
On October 5, the pre-listing report put Orient Cables’ GMP at ₹121 per share, about 45% of the ₹272 issue price. Adding the reported GMP to the issue price produced an implied listing estimate of ₹393. The report itself described GMP as unofficial and unregulated, subject to fluctuation, and not a guarantee of the actual listing price. The Economic Times’ pre-listing coverage reported that estimate; it was not an exchange-published price.
