Optoma India used a 15 October 2026 media showcase at Hyderabad’s Radisson Blu, Banjara Hills, to present three parts of its current display strategy: the flagship UHR90DV 4K home-cinema projector, the compact Photon Beam PK52 for everyday viewing, and Studio Series/N-Series professional displays for always-on commercial use. The Hyderabad event also highlighted the company’s expanding Indian manufacturing and device-management plans.
What Optoma India showed in Hyderabad
The showcase was aimed at media representatives and covered residential and commercial display products. Optoma said Hyderabad was chosen for its expanding technology ecosystem, corporate activity and premium residential market.

The residential line was represented by two laser projectors with different priorities. The UHR90DV is designed for a dedicated premium cinema installation, while the Photon Beam PK52 is a smaller, more flexible model for regular home entertainment. The professional-display part of the event focused on large-format screens that can operate continuously in portrait or landscape orientation.

The UHR90DV is a 4K UHD projector built around Triple Laser RGB illumination. Optoma India rates it at 5,000 lumens and 96% coverage of the BT.2020 colour gamut. Those figures position it for large screens and rooms where substantial light output and wide colour reproduction matter.

- True 4K Ultra HD
- Lag-Free Gaming
- HDR & HLG Compatible
Picture formats and processing
The projector supports Dolby Vision, HDR10+, IMAX Enhanced and Filmmaker Mode. Optoma’s PureEngine Ultra processing is intended to refine image presentation, while the cinema-oriented certifications address HDR playback, filmmaker-intended picture settings and IMAX content compatibility.
Calling the UHR90DV a 4K UHD projector accurately describes its output category. The available event information does not establish whether its imaging device is native 4K or uses a pixel-shifting technique, so buyers who require native-4K hardware should check the final regional specification sheet.

Installation and sound integration
Motorised zoom and lens shift give installers more freedom to position the projector without moving the mount or physically repositioning the chassis. Dolby Atmos passthrough is included for systems that send compatible audio to an external receiver or sound processor.
Optoma India quoted input lag as low as 8.5 milliseconds. That makes the UHR90DV relevant to console and PC gaming as well as films, although actual latency can vary with resolution, refresh mode, processing settings and the connected device. The 5,000-lumen rating is useful for large images, but a suitable screen, controlled ambient light and correct calibration still determine perceived contrast and black level.

Optoma Photon Beam PK52: compact everyday viewing
The Photon Beam PK52 is a compact 4K UHD laser projector for less specialised home use. It is rated at 3,500 lumens, supports HDR and uses PureEngine picture enhancement.
Features that simplify casual setup
- Laser operation rated for up to 30,000 hours, reducing routine lamp replacement.
- Image sizes from 28 to 300 inches, depending on placement and screen distance.
- Built-in 15-watt speaker for viewing without a separate audio system.
- Automatic vertical keystone correction for quick alignment.
Automatic keystone correction is convenient when the projector cannot be placed squarely to the screen, but optical placement and lens geometry generally preserve more image detail than heavy digital correction. The PK52’s HDR support and laser light source make it suitable for films, streaming and games, while its lower brightness and simpler installation feature set distinguish it from the UHR90DV’s dedicated-cinema focus.

How the Hyderabad showcase fits Optoma’s India strategy
In a 14 September 2026 corporate release, Optoma said its Made in India program had expanded beyond interactive flat-panel displays to begin local production of projectors and professional-display signage. The same strategy update described Optoma Solution Suite, Optoma Management Suite, AI-driven productivity tools, cross-brand device management and open APIs. Optoma also cited participation in Microsoft’s Device Ecosystem Platform community.
Vijay Sharma, Managing Director of Optoma India, said Hyderabad has growing demand for premium home cinema and advanced professional displays. Gordon Wu, General Manager of Optoma Asia Pacific, described India as strategically important to Optoma’s regional and global growth.
Quick Recap
Which product fits which buyer?
- Choose the UHR90DV when a dedicated cinema room, a large screen, broad HDR support, installation adjustment and low-latency gaming are priorities.
- Choose the PK52 when compact hardware, a built-in speaker, quick setup and long laser life matter more than flagship cinema features.
- Choose an N-Series display for commercial messaging, signage or collaboration that requires 24/7 portrait or landscape operation and centralized fleet management.
