The OPPO Reno16 5G has a firm, dated Indian price: ₹66,999 for 8GB+256GB and ₹72,999 for 12GB+256GB. The vivo T5 5G is harder to pin down. vivo’s own India pages describe two noticeably different phones under the same name, and neither page gave a current selling price. So a trustworthy rupee gap between the two can’t be calculated yet, and this article doesn’t invent one.
What follows is what each maker states, where vivo’s pages disagree, and how to decide once you’ve confirmed the exact T5 5G unit you’re being sold. Everything here is manufacturer-stated; none of it comes from independent testing.

Price: what is known and what isn’t
OPPO Reno16 5G (India, model CPH2865)

OPPO says the phone was released on 2 July 2026 and the prices include taxes and are subject to change. Its launch release promised sales from 9 July 2026 via Amazon, Flipkart, mainline retail and OPPO’s e-store, at the lower launch prices. OPPO’s online store showed the later prices when checked, but the selected listing also read “Out of stock.” Treat ₹66,999 / ₹72,999 as the last published figures, not a guarantee of what you’ll pay today, and check the live listing.
vivo T5 5G
No current India selling price for the T5 5G appeared on vivo’s overview or parameter pages. Prices of the similarly named T5x or T5 Pro are not a substitute. Until you have a same-day price for the T5 5G at the same storage tier (ideally 8GB+256GB), any “price difference” would be a guess. Compare like for like: vivo’s parameter page lists 6GB+128GB, 8GB+128GB and 8GB+256GB, while OPPO sells only 256GB models.

Reno16 5G specifications (OPPO India)

- Battery and charging: 6700mAh typical (6490mAh rated), 80W SUPERVOOC; charger in the box
- Storage: 256GB UFS 3.1 on both versions; no memory-card support
- Connectivity: 5G, Wi-Fi 6, Bluetooth 5.4; no NFC, no eSIM
- Durability: OPPO lists IP66, IP68, IP69 and IP69K ratings. These are lab ratings, not permission to expose the phone to water deliberately, and water damage is typically not something to rely on being covered.
OPPO cautions that Reno16 series specifications differ by country, so figures from other markets’ Reno16 listings may not apply to the Indian CPH2865.
vivo T5 5G: two official pages that disagree
Both pages sit on vivo India’s site and use the T5 5G name, yet they describe different hardware.

Nothing available explains the mismatch: one page may be outdated, or the product may have changed. Don’t blend the two. Before buying, check the model name and specification on the retail box or the live seller listing, or ask vivo directly.

vivo’s performance claims
The overview page claims 15% better smoothness, 8% lower power consumption and 7% better gaming than the vivo T4, plus an AnTuTu score of 1,202,592 (run on the 12GB+256GB edition; vivo notes results depend on configuration and test environment). It also advertises “Up to 233% Faster On-Device AI Computing,” from vivo’s internal testing as of 30 July 2026, with results varying by workload and configuration. These are vivo’s own numbers, aren’t comparisons with the Reno16, and shouldn’t be read as proof of real-world speed.

Head-to-head by what matters
Display
OPPO states an AMOLED panel at 6.32 inches, a compact size by today’s standards. vivo’s overview says a larger 6.83-inch curved screen; its parameter page says a 6.76-inch LCD. If the LCD page is right, the Reno16 has a clear panel-type advantage; if the curved-screen page is right, it’s mostly a choice between compact and large.
Cameras
On paper the Reno16 is the more versatile: a 50MP 3.5× optical telephoto with OIS, a 50MP ultra-wide and a 50MP autofocus selfie camera. The T5 5G’s overview lists a 50MP OIS main camera with only an 8MP ultra-wide and a 32MP selfie camera, and no telephoto is mentioned on either page. Megapixels don’t determine image quality, and no independent camera comparison exists in the sources used here.

Battery and charging
vivo claims a larger battery (7050mAh or 7200mAh depending on the page) against the Reno16’s 6700mAh typical. But the Reno16 charges at 80W versus 44W on the T5 5G, so a refill should be faster. Capacity alone doesn’t tell you endurance, as chipset efficiency and screen type play in, and nobody has published battery tests for both.
Processor
Snapdragon 7 Gen 4 versus a Dimensity 7400-Turbo or 7500 Turbo. Chip names don’t reliably predict performance; wait for independent benchmarks or reviews before treating either as faster.

Durability, storage and extras
The Reno16 lists IP66/68/69/69K ratings, UFS 3.1 storage, Wi-Fi 6 and Bluetooth 5.4, with no NFC or eSIM and no memory card slot. vivo’s pages as retrieved gave no ingress rating, storage type or NFC details, so those can’t be compared.

- Choose the Reno16 5G if you want an AMOLED screen, optical zoom, faster charging and a documented water and dust rating, and the price band of roughly ₹67,000–₹73,000 (last published) suits you.
- Look at the T5 5G if battery capacity and a larger screen matter most, and only after confirming its actual specs and price. If the parameter page reflects the real product, its LCD panel and 6GB/128GB entry tiers point to a lower-tier phone in a different class.
An outright winner isn’t justified until the T5 5G’s real configuration and price are confirmed and independent testing exists for both.
