Choose the Reno16c if you want a larger screen, a larger stated battery, storage-card expansion and a lower official listed entry price. Both India models include a 50MP 3.5x optical telephoto camera. This comparison is specifically for the India Reno16 5G (CPH2865) and Reno16c 5G (CPH2859); other Reno16-series models sold elsewhere can have different specifications and names.
What is the difference between the OPPO Reno16 and Reno16c?
The main trade-off is camera and display specification versus screen size, battery capacity and expandability. OPPO India lists a 50MP ultra-wide camera, 4K/60fps video and a higher-resolution, higher-brightness display for Reno16. Reno16c has an 8MP ultra-wide camera and 4K/30fps video, but its screen is larger, its stated battery capacity is greater, and it supports a storage card.

Specifications and later prices above are from OPPO India’s product pages for the two models: Reno16 specifications and Reno16c specifications. The India launch announcement dated 2 July 2026 described both displays as 120Hz. Figures are specifications, not independent performance or battery-life test results.

Choose Reno16 for ultra-wide photos and 4K/60fps video
The Reno16’s 50MP ultra-wide camera has a much higher stated resolution than the Reno16c’s 8MP unit, while both are specified at 116°. It also records rear video at up to 4K/60fps, compared with 4K/30fps on Reno16c. Those listed differences make Reno16 the stronger choice on paper if ultra-wide detail or smoother high-resolution video matters to you. They do not, by themselves, establish which phone produces better-looking images in every situation.
#1 Best Overall
- 6.57 inches, AMOLED, 1B colors, 1080 x 2372 pixels
- 512GB Storage, 8GB RAM, microSDXC
- Android 16, ColorOS 16, Mediatek Dimensity 7300 Energy (4 nm), Octa-core (4x2.5 GHz Cortex-A78 & 4x2.0 GHz Cortex-A55)
- Rear: 50 MP, f/1.8, 26mm (wide), 1/2.0", 0.8µm, PDAF, OIS, 50 MP, f/2.8, 92mm (telephoto), 1/3.13", 0.56µm, PDAF, OIS, 3.5x optical zoom, 8 MP, f/2.2, 15mm, 116˚ (ultrawide), 1/4.0", 1.12µm, AF, Front: 50 MP, f/2.0, 18mm, 100˚ (ultrawide), 1/2.88", 0.61µm, AF
- 158.2 x 74.9 x 8.4 mm or 8.6 mm, 194 g or 196 g (6.84 oz)
Choose Reno16 for a sharper, brighter display
Reno16’s 6.32-inch panel has a higher pixel density and a higher stated HBM brightness ceiling than the Reno16c’s 6.57-inch panel. That points to a sharper image and more headroom for brightness on the Reno16 specification sheet. Reno16c is the better fit if you would rather have a physically larger display than the extra resolution and brightness figures.
Choose Reno16c for a larger screen, battery capacity or storage card
Reno16c has the larger display and the larger listed typical and rated battery capacities. Capacity alone cannot tell you which model lasts longer in your routine: screen use, signal, settings and workload also affect battery life. Reno16c is also the only one of these two models that OPPO lists as supporting storage-card expansion; check the card type and compatibility for the exact phone before buying a card.

Do not choose based on the telephoto camera alone
Both India models list a 50MP telephoto camera with 3.5x optical zoom, so that specification does not distinguish them. OPPO lists a Snapdragon 7 Gen 4 with LPDDR5X memory for Reno16 and a Dimensity 7300-Energy with LPDDR4X for Reno16c. These are different platforms and memory types, but the listed specifications do not establish a measured speed advantage in everyday use. A 91mobiles review dated 2 July 2026 described Reno16c performance as less impressive; that is the reviewer’s assessment, not a benchmark result or a guarantee of how it will feel for every buyer.

What should you check before buying?
- Confirm the model number and market. For this India comparison, Reno16 is CPH2865 and Reno16c is CPH2859. OPPO says other countries may sell Reno16-series models with different names and specifications; do not assume the India specifications apply to a different regional version. OPPO Global’s Reno16-series information notes that specifications and availability can vary by market.
- Check whether you need NFC or eSIM. OPPO’s India product pages say neither model supports either feature. If you rely on contactless payments or an eSIM, verify that limitation against your needs before choosing.
- Check the box contents for your market and seller. OPPO India lists a charger and protective case in each phone’s box, while cautioning that box contents may vary by market.
- Verify the applicable warranty and return terms. OPPO’s Reno16c India page states a 12-month standard warranty in India and a 30-day exchange window for functionally defective devices bought through OPPO Store. Confirm the policy for your seller, purchase date and location rather than assuming it applies to every purchase.
- Do not treat the IP ratings as a guarantee against all water damage. OPPO lists IP66, IP68, IP69 and IP69K for both India models; that does not make either phone indestructible or suitable for every exposure to water.
Regional specifications can differ. For example, TechRadar’s August 2026 Reno16 review lists a 6,000mAh battery for its reviewed market version, whereas OPPO India lists a 6,700mAh typical capacity for CPH2865. Use the specification for the model number and market you are actually buying, not a review of a different version.

Verdict: Reno16 or Reno16c?
For camera flexibility—especially ultra-wide photography and 4K/60fps recording—and a sharper, brighter screen, pick the Reno16 if its price fits your budget. For a larger display, greater listed battery capacity, expandable storage and a lower official listed starting price, pick the Reno16c. Compare the exact configuration and current seller price before deciding; the shared 50MP 3.5x telephoto camera is not a reason to favor one over the other.
