For buyers in India, the vivo V80’s published specifications emphasize a higher-resolution, faster-refresh display, a larger battery, faster wired charging and ZEISS-branded cameras. The OPPO Reno15 starts at a lower official launch price and offers more RAM in some configurations. At launch, the cheapest V80 cost ₹17,000 more than the cheapest Reno15—but those prices compare different base storage capacities, so they are not a like-for-like match.

What the price difference means
The ₹17,000 gap between ₹45,999 and ₹62,999 compares the 8GB/256GB Reno15 with the 8GB/128GB V80. For a matching 256GB storage tier, the Reno15 12GB/256GB launch price was ₹21,000 below the V80 8GB/256GB launch price, although RAM differs. Which phone has the better display?
vivo advertises the V80 with a 6.59-inch 1.5K OLED display and refresh rate up to 144Hz. OPPO lists Reno15 with a 6.59-inch FHD+ AMOLED panel, resolution of 2760 × 1256 and refresh rate up to 120Hz. On the stated specifications, V80 has the higher resolution class and refresh-rate ceiling. Those figures do not establish which screen looks better in person; brightness claims can also use different measurement methods.
How do battery and charging compare?
OPPO lists Reno15’s battery at 6,500mAh typical capacity and wired charging up to 80W. vivo lists V80 at 7,200mAh typical capacity with 90W FlashCharge. The larger rated capacity and higher charging wattage give V80 the stronger headline figures, but specifications alone do not establish real-world battery life or charging time.

What camera and video hardware do they offer?
Both phones list 50MP main and telephoto cameras with optical image stabilization, plus 4K video recording at up to 60fps. OPPO also specifies an 8MP ultrawide rear camera and a 50MP autofocus selfie camera. vivo highlights a 50MP telephoto camera with 3× optical zoom and ZEISS camera branding. Megapixel counts and branding alone do not prove which phone produces better photos or video; no independent comparative camera testing is established here.
How do memory options differ?
Reno15 is listed in 8GB/256GB, 12GB/256GB and 12GB/512GB configurations, and OPPO says it has no storage-card slot. vivo’s V80 launch announcement lists 8GB/128GB, 8GB/256GB and 8GB/512GB configurations. Reno15 therefore offers more RAM in its 12GB options, while V80 has a lower-storage base option. Confirm the exact configuration offered by the retailer before ordering.

What software support and wired-audio details matter?
OPPO says Reno15 supports five major ColorOS version updates and six years of security updates. vivo advertises up to six years of extended security updates for V80, with the period calculated from the initial global launch; availability and duration can vary by model and market. Those statements use different terms, so they should not be treated as identical support promises.
For wired listening, vivo says V80 supports digital Type-C earphones, not analog wired earphones. Its guidance for 3.5mm analog headphones is a separately sold Type-C adapter with a built-in DAC. Check protocol and device compatibility before choosing an adapter.

Which should you choose?
- Consider the vivo V80 if its stated 144Hz, 1.5K display, 7,200mAh typical battery, 90W charging rating, 3× optical telephoto specification or ZEISS-branded camera system are priorities.
- Consider the OPPO Reno15 if a lower launch-price starting point or a 12GB RAM configuration matters more to you.
- Before buying either, compare live prices for the same storage capacity, check the local warranty and network bands, and confirm whether a charger is included in the box for your market.
These are manufacturer specifications and launch announcements, not independent camera, battery or benchmark test results. OPPO’s detailed specifications are on its Reno15 India specifications page; vivo’s are on the V80 India product page.
