The Reno15 has a dedicated telephoto camera, a 50MP front camera and a lower published starting price. The iQOO 15R has a Snapdragon 8 Gen 5, a 1.5K 130Hz display, a 7,600mAh battery and 100W wired charging. Everything below compares official specifications; none of it comes from hands-on testing.

Performance: Snapdragon 8 Gen 5 vs Snapdragon 7 Gen 4
The iQOO 15R uses a higher-tier Qualcomm platform than the Reno15. That points to more headroom for demanding games and heavy multitasking. The tier is only a hint, though. Sustained speed, heat and frame stability depend on cooling, tuning and software, and no comparable benchmark data is available for these two phones here. Treat the chipset as a likely advantage for iQOO, not a measured one.
Display
Both phones use 6.59-inch AMOLED panels of almost identical size. iQOO lists a 1.5K resolution (2750 × 1260) and a 130Hz refresh claim for normal scenes. OPPO lists FHD+ (2760 × 1256) and up to 120Hz. On paper iQOO has the sharper, faster panel. The two companies may describe refresh and brightness under different conditions, so a small spec gap may not be easy to see in daily use.

Cameras
This is the Reno15’s clearest advantage. It lists a 50MP telephoto camera with OIS next to its 50MP OIS main and 8MP ultra-wide. The iQOO 15R lists only a 50MP OIS main and an 8MP ultra-wide, so it has no dedicated telephoto lens. For portraits, distant subjects and zoomed shots, the Reno15 has hardware the iQOO lacks.
The front cameras follow the same pattern: 50MP with autofocus on the Reno15 against 32MP on the iQOO 15R. Megapixel counts do not decide image quality. Processing, sensor size and tuning matter more, and no sample comparison was available for these two.
Rank #3

- Rear: 200 MP, f/1.8, 24mm (wide), 1/1.56", 0.5µm, PDAF, OIS, 50 MP, f/2.8, 85mm (telephoto), PDAF, OIS, 3.5x optical zoom, 50 MP, f/2.0, 16mm, 116˚ (ultrawide), AF, Front: 50 MP, f/2.0, 18mm, 100˚ (ultrawide), AF
Battery and charging
The iQOO 15R lists a 7,600mAh typical battery. The Reno15 lists 6,500mAh typical, or 6,335mAh rated. Charging is 100W on the iQOO and up to 80W on the Reno15. These are nominal figures, not endurance or charge-time results. Software efficiency and the chipset also affect battery life, so a bigger cell does not guarantee proportionally longer use.
Independent reader supportYour contribution helps us test, update, and keep practical guides available for everyone.Software and updates
The Reno15 runs ColorOS 16.0 and the iQOO 15R runs Origin OS 6.0. Your preference for either interface is a personal call. The more concrete difference is the update commitment. iQOO advertises 4 years of OS updates and 6 years of security updates. OPPO’s India specifications page states no duration, so you cannot assume the two match. If you keep phones for years, check OPPO’s current policy before buying.

At the January 8, 2026 launch, Goldee Patnaik, Head of Communications at OPPO India, said: “With over 100 million OPPO users in India, we have closely witnessed how consumer expectations have evolved towards premium experiences, especially with cameras systems, intuitive AI, distinctive design language and user experience.” This is an OPPO executive’s statement, not an independently verified market figure. It does match the camera-led way the Reno15 is positioned.
