Do not buy on the name alone: “Oppo Reno X” is not a confirmed model in the OPPO catalog reviewed. OPPO currently separates Reno16 and Find X phones, so identify the exact model and country version first. If the intended phone is the UAE Reno16 5G, it is a relatively narrow, light handset; a phone such as Samsung’s Galaxy S26 Ultra is materially wider and larger. Choose the Reno16 class for easier one-hand handling, and choose a wide flagship when screen area and high-end features matter more than grip.

The important answer: “Oppo Reno X” is not a verified model name

The purchase decision cannot be made reliably until the model is identified. The OPPO catalog reviewed lists Reno16 phones and Find X phones as separate families, but it does not establish a phone officially called “Oppo Reno X.” A retailer, search result or social post may be shortening another name, using an unreleased label, or mixing the Reno and Find X families.

As an Amazon Associate I earn from qualifying purchases.

That distinction affects every comparison: width, display, cameras, storage, software, price and network compatibility can change between models and countries. Treat any listing that says only “Reno X” as unverified. Ask for the complete model name, model number, storage configuration and selling region before comparing it with a large-screen phone.

The most useful provisional comparison is the OPPO Reno16 5G (model CPH2865) against a genuinely wide large-screen example, Samsung’s Galaxy S26 Ultra. This is a size-and-priority comparison, not a claim that the two phones are equivalent in price or market position.

Reno16 5G versus Galaxy S26 Ultra: the physical difference

Body width is the quickest indicator of how a phone feels in your hand, while display diagonal indicates viewing area. Weight and thickness also affect comfort, especially when a case is fitted. The figures below come from the manufacturers and are for specific regional specifications.

Specification OPPO Reno16 5G (UAE specification) Samsung Galaxy S26 Ultra (announcement specification)
Height Approximately 151.21 mm 163.6 mm
Width Approximately 72.42 mm 78.1 mm
Thickness 8.22–8.36 mm, depending on color 7.9 mm
Weight 182–193 g, depending on color 214 g
Display 6.32 inches 6.9-inch QHD+ Dynamic AMOLED 2X, adaptive 1–120 Hz
Display-resolution detail 2640 × 1216; up to 120 Hz Samsung measures 6.9 inches diagonally across the full rectangle; rounded corners reduce the equivalent area to 6.7 inches, before accounting for the camera opening

The Reno16 is about 5.68 mm narrower than the Galaxy S26 Ultra and substantially shorter and lighter. That is enough to change thumb reach and the way the phone sits in a pocket. The Ultra’s 6.9-inch measurement does not mean the entire rectangle is viewable; Samsung explicitly qualifies the diagonal because of rounded corners and the camera opening.

These measurements do not establish which phone is “better.” They establish two different size classes: a near-72-mm handset intended to be easier to hold, and a 78.1-mm handset that makes room for a larger display and flagship hardware.

What “wide” means when you are choosing a phone

Width controls one-hand reach

A wider body pushes the far edge of the screen farther from your thumb. The difference is most noticeable when typing, tapping controls near the opposite corner, or using the phone while walking. A few millimetres can matter because your hand must rotate or stretch, not because the number sounds large on paper.

Display diagonal controls workspace

A larger diagonal can make documents, maps, video timelines and split-screen apps easier to inspect. Diagonal measurements are not directly comparable without considering aspect ratio, rounded corners and camera cut-outs, so use the listed width and the actual display specification together.

  • 158.2 x 74.5 x 8.4 mm or 8.6 mm, 194 g or 196 g (6.84 oz)

Weight and thickness change fatigue

The Reno16 specification lists a 182–193 g range by color, while the Galaxy S26 Ultra is listed at 214 g. A protective case adds more mass and increases the effective width. If your hand or wrist becomes tired during long reading or gaming sessions, weight may matter as much as the screen-size gain.

What the provisional Reno16 5G offers

Display and storage

OPPO’s UAE page lists a 6.32-inch display with 2640 × 1216 resolution, a refresh rate of up to 120 Hz and a 12 GB RAM plus 256 GB storage configuration. Those are UAE-page specifications, not a universal description of every Reno16 sold worldwide. A different country may receive another memory or storage combination.

Special offer. See more information about Outbyte and uninstall instructions. Please review EULA and Privacy policy.

Camera hardware

OPPO lists three 50-megapixel rear cameras: an ultra-wide camera with a 116-degree field of view, a wide camera with optical image stabilization, and a telephoto camera with optical image stabilization. The front camera is also listed as 50 megapixels.

Those numbers describe hardware and do not prove image quality. Megapixel count, stabilization and field of view cannot by themselves tell you how a phone handles moving subjects, night scenes, skin tones, autofocus or video. If camera performance is your deciding factor, look for independent tests of the exact regional model rather than treating the specification sheet as a camera ranking.

Software

The UAE specification identifies ColorOS 16.0. Software features, update timing and even preinstalled applications can vary by market, carrier and release date, so confirm the version shown on the local product page or in the phone’s settings before purchase.

What makes the Galaxy S26 Ultra a genuinely wide alternative

Samsung lists the Galaxy S26 Ultra at 78.1 mm wide, 163.6 mm tall, 7.9 mm thick and 214 g. Its 6.9-inch QHD+ Dynamic AMOLED 2X display supports an adaptive 1–120 Hz refresh rate. The larger panel is useful when you want more room for reading, editing, games or multitasking, but the wider and heavier body is the trade-off every day you carry it.

Samsung’s diagonal qualification is important when comparing phones: the stated 6.9 inches spans the full rectangle, while rounded corners correspond to 6.7 inches and the camera opening reduces usable viewing area further. Compare the complete display specification, not just the largest diagonal number in a headline.

The Ultra is a defensible example of a wide, large-screen phone. It is not evidence that it is the best choice for every reader, and it is not a like-for-like price comparison with a Reno-series device.

Camera comparison: count the lenses, then check the evidence

On paper, the Reno16 5G has a clear three-camera layout: ultra-wide, stabilized wide and stabilized telephoto, all listed at 50 MP. That may appeal if you regularly switch between group shots, standard photos and distant subjects. However, the supplied specifications do not include independent image samples, laboratory measurements or a direct comparison with the Galaxy S26 Ultra.

  • 158.2 x 74.9 x 8.4 mm or 8.6 mm, 194 g or 196 g (6.84 oz)
  • For lens flexibility: verify that the telephoto and ultra-wide cameras are enabled in the camera app at the resolutions you expect, rather than assuming every mode uses the full sensor.
  • For low light and moving subjects: seek tests of the exact model and software build; stabilization does not eliminate blur from a moving person.
  • For selfies: the Reno16 listing specifies a 50 MP front camera, but resolution alone does not establish autofocus, dynamic range or video quality.

Do not convert a manufacturer camera count into a quality verdict. The official page itself states, “All specifications are subject to the actual product.”

Regional versions, prices and availability

Reno16 pricing context

TechRadar’s review reported a July 2026 release and a UK price of £649 for the Reno16 5G. The same review said the standard Reno16 was not sold directly in the United States at the time it was written. It also noted that memory and storage configurations differ across markets.

These are dated secondary-source statements, not a live stock check. A price can change, a carrier can add or remove a model, and an imported phone may have different bands, warranty terms, software or accessories. Check the current local listing, exact SKU and carrier support before paying.

Why an imported “Reno X” listing is risky

  • The seller may be using an unofficial or incomplete product name.
  • The advertised RAM and storage may not match the UAE 12 GB + 256 GB configuration.
  • Box contents, charger type and protective case availability can differ by market.
  • Warranty service may be limited to the original sales region.
  • Mobile-band and eSIM support should be checked against your carrier, not assumed from a global-looking listing.

Which phone should you choose?

Choose the Reno16 class if grip and portability come first

The provisional Reno16 5G is the better fit when a 72.42-mm body, lower listed weight and shorter height are more important than maximum screen area. It should be easier to reach across one-handed, easier to carry and less tiring for long handheld sessions. Its 6.32-inch, up-to-120-Hz display is still large enough for ordinary browsing, messaging and video.

Special offer. See more information about Outbyte and uninstall instructions. Please review EULA and Privacy policy.

Choose a wide flagship if screen space is the priority

A 78.1-mm, 6.9-inch-class phone makes sense when you read dense documents, edit photos or video, play games, use split-screen apps or simply prefer a larger canvas. Expect a heavier device and more thumb travel. The extra screen area is valuable only if you use it often enough to outweigh that daily handling cost.

Choose based on camera needs only after checking independent tests

The Reno16’s three 50 MP rear cameras and stabilized wide and telephoto lenses look versatile in a specification table. They do not establish that it outperforms a wide flagship. If photography is your main reason to upgrade, compare samples and video tests for the exact regional models, then confirm that the tested storage configuration is the one you can buy.

Choose based on price only after fixing the market and SKU

The £649 figure is UK launch context from a 2026 review, not a worldwide or permanent price. Do not compare it with a current price for another phone until you have matched country, storage, warranty and seller status. A cheaper imported unit can lose its advantage if it lacks local support or the right network bands.

A practical buying checklist

  1. Read the complete model name. Reject a listing that says only “Oppo Reno X” unless the seller provides an official model designation.
  2. Record the model number. For the UAE Reno16 5G, OPPO identifies CPH2865. A different number may indicate another regional configuration.
  3. Match the country. Confirm where the phone is intended to be sold and whether the seller provides local warranty service.
  4. Check width, weight and thickness. Use the manufacturer dimensions and account for the case you will actually use.
  5. Check display details. Compare diagonal, resolution, refresh-rate range and the effect of rounded corners or a camera opening.
  6. Check the exact memory and storage. Do not assume the UAE 12 GB + 256 GB configuration is universal.
  7. Check camera reviews of the same model. Treat megapixel counts and stabilization as features, not proof of image quality.
  8. Confirm what is in the box. Charger, case and cable availability may vary by market.
  9. Verify carrier compatibility and return rights. This is especially important for imported phones and marketplace listings.
  10. Compare the total cost. Include a case, charger if needed, shipping, taxes and any warranty limitation before deciding that one phone is cheaper.

Common mistakes to avoid

Assuming “Reno X” means Reno16

Reno16 is a plausible interpretation, but it is not confirmed by the catalog reviewed. Substituting it silently can lead to the wrong dimensions, camera system or price.

Special offer. See more information about Outbyte and uninstall instructions. Please review EULA and Privacy policy.

Calling a phone wide because its diagonal is large

A diagonal alone hides aspect ratio and corner cut-outs. Compare the body width and weight first if the question is whether the phone is easy to hold.

Treating official specifications as test results

Manufacturer pages establish listed hardware and dimensions. They do not establish comparative battery endurance, photo quality, gaming performance or long-term software support unless those results are separately tested and documented.

Using a launch price as a live price

The reported £649 UK figure dates from TechRadar’s 2026 review. Recheck the current local price and availability, particularly because the standard Reno16 was reported as unavailable for direct US sale at that time.

Forgetting the case

A case increases both width and weight. OPPO lists a Reno16/16 Pro Magnetic Protective Case in its UK accessories catalog, but compatibility should be confirmed for the exact model; do not assume a Reno16 case fits every Reno or Find X phone.

Special offer. See more information about Outbyte and uninstall instructions. Please review EULA and Privacy policy.

Bottom-line recommendation

There is no responsible definitive winner until “Oppo Reno X” is identified. If the intended phone is the Reno16 5G, pick it when a narrower, lighter body and a 6.32-inch display fit your hand and routine. Pick a wide phone such as the Galaxy S26 Ultra when its 78.1-mm body, 6.9-inch-class display and larger workspace are worth carrying 214 g. Confirm the country, SKU, current price, network support and independent camera evidence before placing the order.
