The OPPO Find X8 Ultra is worth considering for its four-camera setup, high-resolution display and substantial battery—but only if its China-market import status, local support and asking price work for you. It is no longer OPPO’s newest Ultra: the Find X9 Ultra succeeded it, and TechRadar describes that successor as the first globally launched Ultra generation. The X8 Ultra’s camera strengths may justify the extra import homework for photography-minded buyers; for everyone else, uncertain warranty and carrier support make it a harder recommendation.
What the Find X8 Ultra does best
The camera system is the reason to look at this phone. It has four dedicated 50 MP rear cameras: a one-inch-type main sensor, an ultrawide, and 3× and 6× telephoto cameras. In Android Authority’s review, Paul Jones praised the main camera and 6× results. He also judged that the cameras might be the best Android had to offer in 2025—an editorial assessment, not a measured ranking. His review noted that some telephoto images could look slightly oversharpened or oversaturated.

That range gives you more than a main camera with digital zoom: there are dedicated cameras for wide scenes and two distinct telephoto perspectives. The reviewer’s caveat matters if you prefer restrained processing, but the overall camera coverage is the phone’s clearest strength. Read Android Authority’s review.

OPPO’s China specifications list a 6.82-inch AMOLED display with 3168 × 1440 resolution and a refresh rate of up to 120 Hz. The high resolution and large panel suit viewing photos and video, though the phone’s size is part of the handling trade-off.

OPPO lists a dual-cell battery with 6,100 mAh typical capacity and 5,970 mAh rated capacity. The company also claims charging support of up to 100 W wired and 50 W wireless; the wireless charger is sold separately. These are manufacturer specifications and maximum charging claims, not independently measured battery endurance or a guaranteed charge time. The phone uses Qualcomm’s Snapdragon 8 Elite platform. The available sources do not provide a comparable independent benchmark figure, so raw performance should not be treated as established by a score here.

Size, storage and everyday trade-offs
At approximately 163.09 × 76.80 × 8.78 mm and 226 g, the Find X8 Ultra is a large, heavy phone. That heft may be acceptable for a camera-focused device, but it is a meaningful downside if you prefer one-handed use or a lighter handset.

The reviewer found the shortcut camera/control button limited. That is a smaller concern than import support, but worth knowing if you expect a dedicated camera control to add much to shooting.
China-market availability changes the buying decision
The Find X8 Ultra launched in China in April 2025. Business Standard reported a starting price of CNY 6,499 at launch; that is a historical launch price, not a current price or a guide to what an imported unit should cost. Android Authority described official availability as limited to China at the time of its review and advised import buyers to consider price and carrier compatibility. The successor changes the context: TechRadar’s 2026 review identifies the Find X9 Ultra as the X8 Ultra’s successor and the first Ultra generation launched globally. - Check that the phone supports the bands your carrier uses, and confirm carrier compatibility rather than relying on a seller’s general claim that the device is unlocked.
- Get warranty, repair and return terms in writing, including who handles a fault after purchase and whether return shipping is covered.
- Confirm the installed software version, available languages, app behavior and any regional feature limitations with the seller. Do not assume a China-market unit has the same software experience as a locally sold phone.
- Compare the current delivered price with locally available alternatives; the 2025 China launch price is not a current import quote.
OPPO also says magnetic accessories require a magnetic case and are sold separately. Check fit and compatibility for the exact model before buying a case or screen protector.

Verdict: who should buy it?
The Find X8 Ultra is a conditional recommendation for someone who puts camera range first and can verify a trustworthy import, network compatibility and usable support at a sensible current price. Its dedicated 6× camera and strong review impressions are compelling, while the display and battery specifications round out a premium hardware package.
Skip it if you need straightforward local warranty and repair coverage, do not want to check carrier bands and software behavior yourself, or would find its size and weight uncomfortable. Since it has been succeeded by the Find X9 Ultra, do not buy the X8 on the assumption that it is the newest model or that successor availability guarantees support for the older phone in your region.
