Choose the Samsung Galaxy A17 5G if you want a lower-priced Samsung option with a 50MP rear camera with OIS, microSD expansion and a clearly published Android and security-update commitment. Choose the Galaxy A26 5G if you can spend more for a 120Hz display, IP67 protection and a higher-tier Samsung build.
This is an India-market comparison, and these are not direct equivalents. A dated report put the F35 at ₹38,999, while the A17 occupies a lower price tier and the A26 launched at ₹22,999. Prices and stock change, so treat the figures below as dated reference points rather than checkout guarantees.

What each phone is actually competing on
The OPPO F35 5G and Samsung’s Galaxy A17 5G and A26 5G overlap in broad features, but their priorities differ. The F35 is built around endurance, rapid charging and front-camera framing. The A17 focuses on value, optical image stabilisation (OIS), expandable storage and long software support. The A26 adds a faster display refresh rate and stronger stated water-and-dust resistance than the A17.
Samsung’s “Galaxy A series” is not one specification or price class. The A17 is the lower-tier example here; the A26 is a step up. Comparing an F35 with an unspecified A-series phone can therefore produce the wrong recommendation.

Price and value: why the F35 is not a normal A17 alternative
Gadgets 360 reported an India starting price of ₹38,999 for the F35 and a release date of 5 October 2026 in a page dated 13 October 2026. That is a dated secondary listing, not a guaranteed current price. Confirm the exact storage variant, seller, offers, tax treatment and delivery availability before buying.
Samsung announced the A17 in India on 3 September 2025 at these launch prices:
| Galaxy A17 configuration | Announced launch price | What the figure means |
|---|---|---|
| 6GB RAM / 128GB storage | ₹18,999 | Historical Samsung India launch price |
| 8GB RAM / 128GB storage | ₹20,499 | Historical Samsung India launch price |
| 8GB RAM / 256GB storage | ₹23,499 | Historical Samsung India launch price |
A Samsung India purchase-page search result displayed ₹26,999 for the 6GB/128GB A17 on 13 October 2026. It may not be the price you see at checkout. The detailed specification page cited for this comparison describes the 8GB/256GB configuration, so check RAM and storage rather than assuming every A17 listing has the same specification.

Samsung launched the A26 at ₹22,999 in India on 24 March 2025. That is a launch figure, not a current quote; the evidence here does not establish its present selling price. The practical result is that the F35’s reported price is substantially above both Samsung launch tiers, while the A17’s observed listing price is also higher than its original launch prices. Compare today’s like-for-like configurations, not old launch numbers.
Battery and charging: the F35’s clearest advantage
OPPO F35 capacity terminology
OPPO labels the F35 battery as 8,000mAh typical-equivalent and gives an equivalent rated value of 7,820mAh. “Typical-equivalent” is a marketing and comparison label; it should not be silently rewritten as an 8,000mAh rated capacity. The rated figure supplied by OPPO is 7,820mAh.

The phone supports 80W SUPERVOOC charging. Whether an 80W adapter is included in the India box was not established, so do not assume that buying the handset automatically gives you the required adapter. Confirm the exact box contents and adapter compatibility for the listing you intend to purchase.
Samsung’s 5,000mAh batteries
Both Samsung models list a 5,000mAh typical battery. Samsung lists 25W fast charging for the A17, and its in-box details say the package includes the phone, data cable and SIM-ejection pin but not the travel adapter. The A26 charging specification was not stated in the cited material.

How to interpret OPPO’s endurance numbers
On its 2026 product page, OPPO publishes laboratory figures of 38 days of standby, 26.6 hours of online-video scrolling, 14.1 hours of MOBA gaming and 11.8 hours of video calling. These are OPPO’s conditional lab results, not independent measurements. They should not be compared directly with Samsung’s separate “up to” playback estimates because the test protocols, settings and workloads are not shown as identical.
In everyday terms, the F35 is the obvious choice for long trips, heavy navigation, hotspot use or frequent video calls when reducing charging stops is worth paying for. The A17 and A26 use a more conventional capacity and are better suited to buyers who value price, support and camera features over maximum battery size.
Displays: 90Hz versus 120Hz
F35 and A26: smoother refresh option
The F35 has a 16.69cm AMOLED panel with FHD+ resolution and refresh rates up to 120Hz. The A26 also has a 120Hz Super AMOLED display at 1080 × 2340. A 120Hz mode can make scrolling and supported animations look smoother than 90Hz, although the visible benefit depends on software, content and power settings.

A17: still a high-quality panel
The A17 uses a Super AMOLED 1080 × 2340 display with refresh rates up to 90Hz. It is not a low-resolution panel; its trade-off is the lower maximum refresh rate compared with the F35 and A26. If you mostly read, message and stream video, the A17’s panel specification may be sufficient. If smooth scrolling is a priority, put the A26 and F35 first.

F35 for group selfies and wide framing
OPPO specifies a 50MP ultra-wide front camera and a 50MP rear main camera. The ultra-wide front camera is the most distinctive camera feature in this comparison: it can include more people or background at arm’s length than a conventional narrow selfie camera. Resolution alone does not establish image quality, so treat the 50MP figure as a specification, not a guarantee of sharper photographs in every light.
A17 for stabilised rear shots
The A17 combines a 50MP main rear camera with OIS, a 5MP ultra-wide camera and a 2MP macro camera, plus a 13MP front camera. OIS physically compensates for small hand movements during exposure and can help still photos and some video look steadier, particularly in lower light. The 5MP ultra-wide rear camera is useful for landscapes and groups, while the 2MP macro unit is a close-up option with limited resolution.
A26 for a stronger rear-camera package
The A26 has a 50MP main camera with OIS, an 8MP ultra-wide camera and a 2MP macro camera. Its ultra-wide camera has a higher stated resolution than the A17’s. The cited material does not provide the A26 front-camera specification, so do not choose it specifically for selfies without checking the exact listing.
No independent camera comparison is established here. There are no controlled samples or head-to-head tests that would justify declaring one phone the overall image-quality winner.

Durability and water resistance: ratings are not permission to take risks
OPPO’s multiple test ratings
OPPO describes IP66, IP68 and IP69 testing under listed conditions and an IP69K test for the F35. It also warns not to charge the phone while wet and says resistance can decrease with wear. These are manufacturer-reported test results. They do not mean every F35 can be immersed indefinitely, exposed to every liquid or repaired free of charge after liquid damage.
Samsung’s stated protection levels
Samsung lists IP54 and Gorilla Glass Victus on the front for the A17. The A26 is listed with IP67 and Gorilla Glass Victus+. IP67 generally represents a higher stated level of dust and temporary freshwater immersion protection than IP54, but real-world sealing depends on condition, impact and age. Keep charging ports dry and follow the manufacturer’s care guidance for either phone.
Software support: the A-series commitment is more specific
Galaxy A17
Samsung’s India launch announcement promises six generations of Android upgrades and six years of security updates for the A17. The product listing records a security-update period through 31 August 2031. These are Samsung’s published commitments; they do not independently guarantee that every future app will run identically or that performance will remain unchanged.
Galaxy A26
Samsung states six OS upgrades and six years of security updates for the A26. This gives it the same broad support length advertised for the A17, while its 120Hz display and IP67 rating place it higher in the hardware range.

OPPO F35
OPPO’s statement is different: six-year smoothness protection applies to the 256GB configuration and above, while the 128GB version is described as supporting up to five years. That is a manufacturer smoothness claim based on OPPO’s testing, not an equivalent promise of six Android-version upgrades or six years of security patches. Check the storage tier before treating the claim as relevant to your purchase.

At the A17 launch, Samsung India Senior Vice President Raju Pullan described the model as the company’s most affordable Galaxy A-series AI smartphone and highlighted Circle to Search, Gemini Live and on-device Voice Mail. That is Samsung’s promotional statement, not an independent finding about market share or long-term usefulness.

A17: the only model here with a stated microSD ceiling
Samsung lists microSD expansion up to 2TB for the cited A17 configuration. This is valuable if you keep offline video, photos, music or large app files and do not want to pay for more internal storage. Remember that a card’s speed and reliability still affect transfers and app behavior.
F35 and A26: verify before ordering
The cited F35 and A26 material does not establish a microSD limit. Confirm whether a particular India variant supports expandable storage, and check the internal capacity, before relying on a memory card as part of your plan. For the F35, the smoothness-support wording also changes between 128GB and 256GB-or-higher versions.
Which phone fits each buyer?
Pick the OPPO F35 5G when battery and charging come first
- You want the largest stated battery in this group and 80W charging.
- You regularly take group selfies or want a wider front-camera view.
- You accept the reported ₹38,999 starting price and verify the adapter situation.
- You understand that OPPO’s smoothness statement is not the same as Samsung’s published OS and security-update schedule.
Pick the Galaxy A17 5G when value and practical longevity matter
- You want the lower Samsung tier rather than paying F35-level money.
- You need OIS on the 50MP main rear camera.
- You want microSD expansion up to 2TB on the cited configuration.
- You value Samsung’s six Android generations, six years of security updates and the listed support end date of 31 August 2031.
- You can live with a 90Hz display, a 5,000mAh battery and IP54 rather than the higher ratings on the other two phones.
Pick the Galaxy A26 5G when you want the Samsung step-up
- You prefer a 120Hz Super AMOLED display.
- You want Samsung’s stated IP67 rating and Gorilla Glass Victus+.
- You want a 50MP OIS main camera paired with an 8MP ultra-wide rather than the A17’s 5MP unit.
- You are willing to check the current price because ₹22,999 is only the historical launch price.
What to verify before paying
- Match the exact variant. Record RAM, internal storage and model number. A17 prices and support-related F35 wording depend on configuration.
- Check the live India checkout total. Compare the seller, warranty, delivery region, exchange discount and card offer; do not treat the dated figures above as guaranteed prices.
- Confirm the box contents. The A17 listing says the travel adapter is not included. Confirm whether the F35 listing includes an 80W-compatible adapter before budgeting for one.
- Read the charging requirements. Use a compatible, certified charger and cable; never charge a phone while its port is wet.
- Check storage expansion. Treat microSD support as established for the cited A17 configuration only; verify it for any F35 or A26 variant.
- Review return and warranty terms. Water-resistance ratings do not override exclusions for liquid or impact damage.
What this comparison cannot prove
The available evidence does not include independent battery runtimes, gaming benchmarks, camera samples, charging-time measurements or a direct F35-versus-Samsung test. OPPO’s endurance and resistance figures are manufacturer claims under stated conditions. Samsung’s support promises are published commitments, not a guarantee of unchanged performance years from now. A current A26 street price is also not established.
Those limits matter because a phone can win on paper without being the best fit for your network, apps, photography style or charging habits. Use the feature trade-offs and the live listing details to make the final decision.
Bottom line
The OPPO F35 5G is the specialist choice: its 7,820mAh equivalent rated battery, 80W charging and 50MP ultra-wide front camera address endurance and wide selfies better than the Samsung alternatives, but its reported ₹38,999 starting price puts it above the A17’s budget tier. The Galaxy A17 5G is the sensible value choice for OIS, microSD expansion and Samsung’s clearly stated long-term software support. The Galaxy A26 5G is the balanced Samsung upgrade if its current price is acceptable and you want 120Hz, IP67 and the stronger rear ultra-wide specification.
