It suits everyday use if you find it well below the cost of newer 5G phones. Its age, 4G-only connection and region-dependent specifications make the exact model and condition important—especially for imported or used units. It is not the China-market Oppo A58 5G, which is a different device.
Oppo A58 4G specifications
These are the core specifications Oppo lists for the A58 4G. Configuration, connectivity and some measurements vary by market, so treat this as a guide rather than a guarantee for every listing. Check the exact model number and regional product page before buying.

What the “A58 4G” name means
The CPH2577 is a 4G/LTE phone from Oppo’s budget A series. “A58” by itself is ambiguous: Oppo also sold a China-market A58 5G with substantially different hardware. A listing that says only “Oppo A58” does not establish which phone you will receive.
#1 Best Overall
- Compatible with Oppo A58 4G
- Rugged, rigid plastic back cover and soft, flexible TPU inner sleeve for heavy-duty shock protection, non-slip, scratch-resistant and durable.
- Flexible TPU inner edge cushioning and air cushion technology ensure reliable shock protection; raised edges add camera and screen protection.
- Built-in folding stand to watch movie video pictures, etc.
- Inside the center of the holder ring there is a piece of hidden iron that allows the case to be attached to the magnetic car holder, strong and sturdy, navigate on your trips without danger.
Do not assume that an A57, A60, A78 or another A-series name identifies a minor variation of this phone. Check the model number, market version and complete specifications on the seller’s actual unit. Oppo’s global A58 page identifies the 4G model’s regional configurations; the China A58 page describes the distinct 5G device.
Design, screen and sound
Oppo lists the A58 at approximately 165.65 × 75.98 × 7.99mm and 192g, with colors including Glowing Black and Dazzling Green. It has a side-mounted fingerprint reader, USB-C, a 3.5mm headphone jack and dual stereo speakers. Those features make it practical for streaming and wired headphones, though the relatively large screen also makes it a substantial phone to hold.
The 6.72-inch screen is an FHD+ LTPS LCD, not OLED. Oppo’s Australian specification page states 550 nits typical brightness and up to 680 nits in direct sunlight; these are manufacturer figures, not independent measurements. Oppo also lists a 180Hz touch-sampling rate. That describes touch input response, not screen refresh: the cited official specifications do not establish a 90Hz or 120Hz display for this 4G model. Expect sharper text than on an HD+ panel, but LCD blacks and contrast do not match OLED.
Oppo rates the phone IPX4 for splash resistance. This is not a waterproof rating: do not submerge it, take it swimming or charge it while wet.

- Capacity: 128 GB
- Colour: black
Performance and storage
The Helio G85 and eMMC 5.1 storage place the A58 in the basic-use category. It is suited to calls, messaging, email, maps, web browsing, video streaming and social apps, as well as casual games. It is not a good choice for demanding 3D games at high settings, heavy video editing or buyers expecting the speed of a newer phone with faster storage.
Oppo lists configurations with 6GB or 8GB of RAM, and 128GB or 256GB of internal storage across markets. Confirm the physical RAM and storage shown on the specific device: virtual RAM expansion is not additional physical memory. A microSD card can add storage, but the maximum card capacity should be checked against the documentation for that regional variant.
Cameras and video
The rear setup pairs a 50MP f/1.8 autofocus main camera with a 2MP monochrome sensor. The main camera does the meaningful photographic work; the small monochrome unit is a supporting sensor, not an ultra-wide or telephoto camera. The front camera is 8MP.
Oppo lists video recording up to 1080p at 30fps on the rear and front cameras. The Australian page lists 720p as the front camera’s default setting. The cited official specifications do not establish 4K recording, optical image stabilization or a dedicated ultra-wide camera. The 50MP figure alone does not guarantee flagship image quality; consider the A58 for ordinary snapshots rather than advanced photography.

Battery and charging
Oppo specifies a 5,000mAh typical-capacity battery (4,880mAh rated) and 33W SUPERVOOC wired charging. The battery is non-removable, so condition matters more than the original capacity when buying used. If possible, check battery health or ask about replacement history.
Oppo advertises 52% charge in 30 minutes and says a five-minute charge can provide 3.39 hours of calls under its stated test conditions; these are manufacturer claims, not independent runtime results. Full 33W charging depends on a compatible SUPERVOOC charger and cable. A third-party USB-C charger may charge the phone but not at the advertised maximum. Box contents differ by market, retailer and refurbished status, so confirm the included charger and plug type rather than assuming they are present.
Software and update status
Oppo’s global specification page lists ColorOS 13.1, and the company’s ColorOS 14 rollout page included the A58 among devices receiving that update by the first half of 2024. That rollout listing does not establish the current software or security-patch status of every regional CPH2577. The cited official sources do not give a universal A58 security-update end date. Oppo’s update-policy announcement describes extended support for selected flagship models, not a blanket promise for every A-series device.
Before buying, check the handset itself. Menu labels can vary by ColorOS version and region:

- Do not treat a screenshot from another region or unit as proof that the same update is available on yours.
Connectivity and carrier compatibility
The A58 4G supports dual nano-SIM, LTE, Wi-Fi 5 on 2.4GHz and 5GHz networks, Bluetooth 5.3, USB-C and GPS/GNSS. It has no 5G. Oppo’s global specification page lists several regional LTE-band combinations, while the Australian version lists a narrower set. NFC is also region-dependent, not a universal feature. Check the specification page for the unit’s market version rather than relying on a generic listing.
For U.S. use, matching some LTE bands is not enough to guarantee service. Compatibility can also depend on the precise model, VoLTE provisioning, IMEI acceptance, carrier certification and local firmware. Ask the carrier to verify the exact model and IMEI before purchase; current acceptance is not established by Oppo’s band list. Imported phones may also have different update schedules, preinstalled apps, warranty coverage or charging plugs.

The China-market A58 5G is not simply the same phone with a 5G modem added. Oppo’s China page and global 4G specifications describe different platforms and screens:
| Feature | A58 4G (CPH2577) | China-market A58 5G |
|---|---|---|
| Network | 4G/LTE | 5G |
| Processor | MediaTek Helio G85 | MediaTek Dimensity 700 |
| Display | 6.72-inch FHD+ LCD, generally 2400 × 1080 | 90Hz HD+ display |
| Software listed on cited page | ColorOS 13.1 | ColorOS 12.1 |
The 5G label does not mean the China model wins in every respect: the 4G version has the higher stated display resolution. Compare the exact model and market software before considering either listing. Sources: A58 4G specifications and China A58 5G product page.

Is the Oppo A58 4G worth buying in 2026?
It can be a reasonable low-cost phone for everyday tasks if its price is clearly below newer 5G alternatives and the unit is in good condition. It is a weaker purchase if its price approaches newer phones: the Helio G85, eMMC storage and LTE-only connection leave less room for future use, while its remaining software-support period is not established universally.
It may suit you if
- You mainly need calls, messaging, navigation, browsing, streaming and social apps.
- You value an FHD+ screen, stereo speakers, a headphone jack, microSD expansion and a large battery.
- The exact regional variant supports your carrier and the used battery and charging equipment check out.
Look elsewhere if
- You want 5G, OLED, a high-refresh-rate screen, demanding gaming performance or advanced camera features.
- Long-term security support is a priority and the seller cannot establish the device’s update status.
- The seller will not provide the exact model number, or the phone is an unverified import for your carrier.
There is no single reliable current price across countries and conditions. Compare the actual local price for the same storage tier and condition against newer budget 5G phones, current Oppo A-series models, Samsung Galaxy A-series options, Motorola or Redmi/Poco devices, and refurbished higher-tier phones. A higher-tier refurbished phone may be the better fit if camera quality, OLED or performance matters more than buying new.
Used or refurbished buying checklist
Ask before paying
- What is the exact model number and regional version? Ask for a photo of About device, not just a copied listing title.
- Can the seller provide the IMEI where appropriate, and can your carrier confirm acceptance? Make sure the phone is unlocked and not blocked or still financed.
- What are the Android and ColorOS versions and security-patch date? Has the battery been replaced or repaired?
- Which charger and cable are included, and what plug type do they use? Does the listing promise NFC or 256GB storage on this specific unit?
Test when you receive it
- Confirm that the model and IMEI in settings match the listing; inspect the screen for dead pixels, ghost touches and uneven brightness.
- Make a call and verify LTE data and VoLTE with your intended SIM. Test Wi-Fi on both 2.4GHz and 5GHz, Bluetooth audio and NFC if advertised.
- Check cameras and autofocus, speakers, fingerprint reader, SIM slots, USB-C charging and microSD recognition.
- Test charging with the supplied compatible charger if full SUPERVOOC speed is important, and check Google Play certification and available software updates.
For service or battery-replacement options, availability and cost depend on country; start with Oppo Support. Oppo also provides security advisories and maintenance information.
