To unlock Oogie Boogie in Disney Dreamlight Valley, unlock Peaceful Meadow, Scrooge McDuck’s Store, and Chez Remy, then enter the strange mirror inside Scrooge’s Store to start A Halloween Invasion. Complete all six quests in the event chain, beginning the first one before the event is removed on November 4, 2026. After you start the chain, later quests stay in your quest log and can be completed back to back rather than waiting a full week.
The chain also awards Zero, Ghost Well, Ghost Lantern, Barrel, Lock and Shock masks, five U-Carve-It Pumpkins, five Lucky Wheel Cogs, and Decorative Oogie Boogie Bats. The final quest, Oogie Boogie’s Big Game, is the one that unlocks Oogie Boogie as a Valley character.

What you need before entering the Mirror Lair
The event has three practical prerequisites:
- Peaceful Meadow must be unlocked.
- Scrooge McDuck’s Store must be available.
- Chez Remy must be available.
When those conditions are met, go into Scrooge’s Store and interact with the strange mirror. That starts A Halloween Invasion, the first quest and the prerequisite for every later Oogie Boogie quest.
Start before November 4, 2026
The Halloween event is scheduled for removal on November 4, 2026. You do not have to finish all six quests by that date, but you must accept the first quest before the event is removed. Once A Halloween Invasion is started, the follow-up quests remain in your quest log and can be completed consecutively.

Six-quest schedule and the final unlock
The quests were scheduled one week apart. The first quest is the only one with a hard start deadline; the later quests can be worked through in sequence after the chain is active.

The last two quests were still unreleased at the time the available quest information was recorded. Their release dates are scheduled dates, so the exact objectives and item requirements may be clarified in-game when each quest appears.
The Oogie Boogie Contract walkthrough
Prerequisites and equipment
You need to have completed A Halloween Invasion and received the Lucky Wheel Ticket delivered to Oogie’s mailbox. Before entering the Mirror Lair, equip both of these:

The mask can be any one of the three named options; the quest does not require all three at once.

Collect and release the Ghosties
- Enter the Mirror Lair with the Ghost Lantern and one qualifying mask equipped.
- Collect three Ghosties.
- Release one Ghostie in Mickey’s House.
- Release one Ghostie in Merlin’s Library.
- Release one Ghostie in Chez Remy.
- Catch the Ghostie that escapes.
- Return to Oogie.
The destinations are fixed, so check that each Ghostie has been released in the specified building rather than in another Valley location.
Cook Snake and Spider Stew
Oogie then requires Snake and Spider Stew. The recipe uses exactly these ingredients:
- Mushy Banana
- Oogie Boogie’s Eggs
- Super Salty Seaweed
Cook the stew and deliver it as the quest requests. The rewards for completing The Oogie Boogie Contract are Ghost Well, five U-Carve-It Pumpkins and the Ghost Lantern.
The Ghost in the Portrait walkthrough
Investigate the portrait and Lucky Wheel
- Inspect the Haunted Portrait.
- Inspect the memory in the Mirror Lair.
- Obtain Oogie’s Lucky Wheel Ticket.
- Talk to Scrooge.
- Plant the Plain Gift Box.
- Use your pickaxe to sabotage the Lucky Wheel.
- Collect five Lucky Wheel Cogs.
- Collect Ghostly Paint Thinner.
- Use the watering can as directed by the quest.
The trick resets the portrait. That reset is part of the puzzle, so do not treat the first portrait interaction as the final solution.

Find Zero and restore the correct portrait
- Talk to Merlin after the portrait resets.
- Find five drawings of Zero.
- Collect five Zero Essence items.
- Combine the five essences into Real Ghostly Paint Thinner.
- Use the watering can on the correct portrait.
Completing the sequence frees Zero. The quest rewards are Zero and five additional Lucky Wheel Cogs. You will need Zero for the next quest, so make sure the character is available before beginning the Rescue Mission steps.
Rescue Mission: all five odd-decoration locations
After The Ghost in the Portrait, inspect five suspicious decorations in the Mirror Lair. The objects are easy to miss because they are spread across the room rather than grouped together.

Inspect all five objects before confronting Oogie. If the quest does not advance, return to the list and check the two staircase areas and the vault-door counter; those are the locations most separated from the central path.
Complete the rescue preparations
- Confront Oogie after inspecting the five decorations.
- Talk to Merlin.
- Equip Zero.
- Pick up Zero’s paper.
- Fish a Lava Core from the Mirror Lair firepit.
- Fish a Skeleton Fish from the Mirror Lair firepit.
- Ask Goofy for a fragrant, perfectly tended flower.
- Gather 10 Dream Shards.
- Craft two Extra-Strength Bug Sprays.
- Give one spray to Merlin and the other to Scrooge.
- Confront Oogie with the sprays.
Rescue Mission rewards Decorative Oogie Boogie Bats. The quest’s Zero requirement means that the portrait quest must be fully completed first; simply reaching the portrait objective is not enough.

Gameloft describes the event as six weeks of challenges leading to a final showdown and a permanent Oogie Boogie welcome in the Valley. The practical condition is still the same: start the first quest before November 4, 2026, then finish the remaining quests from your quest log.
Timing, progression and common blockers
The quest is not appearing
- Confirm that Peaceful Meadow, Scrooge’s Store and Chez Remy are unlocked.
- Enter the mirror inside Scrooge’s Store rather than looking for a separate map marker.
- Check the event date. A Halloween Invasion must be started before November 4, 2026.
The next quest is unavailable
- Complete the current quest rather than only collecting its first item.
- For The Oogie Boogie Contract, check Oogie’s mailbox for the Lucky Wheel Ticket.
- For Rescue Mission, verify that Zero was freed in The Ghost in the Portrait and is equipped when requested.
The Ghostie objective will not advance
- Equip the Ghost Lantern and exactly one of the Barrel, Lock or Shock masks.
- Release Ghosties in Mickey’s House, Merlin’s Library and Chez Remy.
- Catch the escaped Ghostie before returning to Oogie.
The decoration search is incomplete
Use the five-location table rather than searching only near Oogie. The podium and polar bear are at opposite sides of the bottom stair area; the potion bottles are by the vault; the lantern is beside the clothing table; and the hanging plant is behind the left staircase.
Can the chain be completed in one sitting?
Yes, once the first quest has been started and the follow-up quests are present in your log. The weekly dates describe the event’s release schedule, not a mandatory seven-day waiting period between completions. However, Let the Games Begin and Oogie Boogie’s Big Game were scheduled for October 21 and October 28, respectively, and their objectives were not established before those releases.
