The OnePlus Nord CE5 5G has the stronger headline hardware for buyers who want a 120Hz display, a larger battery and faster charging. The Samsung Galaxy A17 5G costs less at its India launch prices and offers a longer stated Android-upgrade commitment, IP54 protection and microSD expansion. Neither is the automatic winner: compare matching storage versions and current local prices before choosing.
This comparison is based on official specifications and India pricing. It does not establish which phone is faster in use, takes better photos or lasts longer on a charge. Prices and variants can differ outside India, so check local listings and carrier compatibility if you are buying elsewhere.

India price difference: compare the same storage first
OnePlus India lists the Nord CE5 5G from ₹24,999. Samsung announced the Galaxy A17 5G in India at launch prices of ₹18,999 for 6GB/128GB, ₹20,499 for 8GB/128GB and ₹23,499 for 8GB/256GB. These are not necessarily current selling prices, and the Nord’s starting price should not be compared as though it were a matching configuration.
At the time Samsung’s India buy page was accessed for this comparison, it displayed a limited-period “lowest price ever” offer of ₹22,499. The offer is volatile; confirm the applicable variant, seller and price before purchase. See the OnePlus India Nord CE5 listing and Samsung’s India launch announcement for the published figures.

Specs compared
| Specification | OnePlus Nord CE5 5G | Samsung Galaxy A17 5G | What it means |
|---|---|---|---|
| Display | 6.77-inch AMOLED, 120Hz, HDR10+ | 6.7-inch FHD+ Super AMOLED, 90Hz | The Nord specifies the higher refresh rate; the A17 specifies a Super AMOLED panel. Refresh rate alone does not establish overall display quality. |
| Processor | MediaTek Dimensity 8350 Apex | 5nm Exynos 1330 | There are no comparable benchmark results here, so the chip names do not prove a real-world speed winner. |
| Battery and charging | 7,100mAh; 80W SUPERVOOC | 5,000mAh; 25W fast charging | The Nord lists greater capacity and a higher wired-charging rate. These figures do not predict tested battery life. |
| Rear cameras and video | 50MP Sony LYT-600 main camera with OIS; 8MP ultrawide; 4K/60fps video recording listed | 50MP OIS main camera; 5MP ultrawide; 2MP macro | The A17 lists a separate macro camera, while the Nord lists 4K/60fps recording. Hardware specifications alone do not establish image quality. |
| Software support | Four Android version updates and six years of security updates | Six generations of Android upgrades and six years of security updates | Samsung states two additional Android-upgrade generations; both manufacturers state six years of security updates. |
| Durability and storage | UFS 3.1 storage is listed; an IP rating is not established in the cited overview | IP54 rating, front Gorilla Glass Victus, microSD support up to 2TB | The A17’s stated rating and expansion support may matter if splash protection or removable storage is a priority. IP54 is not a rating for beach or pool use. |

What the specifications cannot tell you
The published material cited here does not provide independent comparative tests of performance, camera quality, battery endurance or durability. Battery capacity and charging wattage are manufacturer specifications, not a guarantee of a particular runtime or charging experience. Likewise, camera resolution and stabilization details do not determine which phone produces better photos. Treat software-support commitments as the manufacturers’ stated policies and check for updates to those policies before buying.
