Those are OnePlus laboratory figures, not independently measured real-world results.
In short: for “Nord Buds 3r or Nord Buds 3?”, the deciding question is ANC versus battery life—not a proven difference in sound quality.

Choose the Nord Buds 3 if you want listening ANC
The Nord Buds 3 is the straightforward choice if you want ANC for a commute or another noisy setting. OnePlus lists ANC up to 32 dB and a transparency mode that lets outside sound through. Its claimed case-inclusive playback is up to 28 hours with ANC on.

Choose the Nord Buds 3r if battery life matters more
If you do not need ANC while listening, the 3r offers the higher published case-inclusive figure: up to 54 hours, with up to 12 hours per earbud charge under OnePlus’s stated test conditions. Its AI call noise cancellation addresses calls; it is not a substitute for listening ANC.
Do not decide on sound quality from the specifications alone
The available sources do not provide a controlled listening or call-quality comparison between these two models. Their shared 12.4 mm driver size does not show which sounds better, so there is no evidence-based sound-quality winner here.

Check the price you can actually buy at
Prices vary by region and over time, and a current checkout price for either model has not been established here. For context only, Business Standard reported India launch pricing for the 3r in August 2025: ₹1,799 list price and ₹1,599 introductory price, with sales beginning September 8, 2025. Those dated figures are not current offers and should not be used as a direct price comparison with the Nord Buds 3.
What IP55 does—and does not—tell you
OnePlus lists an IP55 rating for the earbuds; the rating does not necessarily apply to the charging case. Its Nord Buds 3 specifications say resistance may reduce as the product ages and that liquid and dust damage are excluded from warranty. The rating is not a claim that either model is suitable for immersion.
