How the main differences affect your choice
Performance: compare platforms, not assumed speed
The Nord 5 uses the Snapdragon 8s Gen 3, while the Edge 70 Pro is listed with the Dimensity 8500 Extreme. Those names identify different processor platforms; they do not establish which phone is faster in sustained gaming, demanding apps or everyday use. The available comparison does not provide matched performance or thermal tests, so treat real-world speed as unresolved rather than infer a winner from the chipset names.
Display: similar headline specifications
Both are listed with 1.5K AMOLED displays and a 144 Hz refresh rate. The Nord 5 is listed at 6.83 inches and the Motorola at 6.8 inches. Those figures suggest similar headline size and refresh rate, but do not settle brightness, colour accuracy, outdoor legibility or panel quality.

Cameras: the ultra-wide resolution differs
Both phones are listed with 50 MP main and front cameras. The listed ultra-wide camera is 8 MP on the Nord 5 and 50 MP on the Edge 70 Pro. Resolution alone cannot show which camera produces better photos or video: image processing, lens quality and performance across lighting conditions also matter, and no matched camera samples or test results are established here.
Battery and charging: capacity and watts are not test results
OnePlus specifies a 6,800 mAh battery and 80 W charging for the Nord 5; the comparison listing gives the Motorola 6,500 mAh and 90 W. The Nord 5 has the larger stated capacity, while the Motorola has the higher stated charging wattage. Neither difference proves longer runtime or a faster full charge. OnePlus says its battery figures are obtained under controlled conditions and that actual battery life varies; that is not a head-to-head endurance result.
Protection and updates: check the terms that matter to you
The comparison listing gives the Nord 5 an IP65 rating and Android 15, and the Edge 70 Pro an IP68/IP69 rating and Android 16. These are listed ratings and software versions, not a substitute for checking current regional specifications and warranty terms. OnePlus states that the Nord 5 will receive four Android version updates and six years of security updates. No equivalent Motorola update commitment is established here, so do not assume the support policies are identical.
Rank #2
- 5G Enabled - The OnePlus Nord N20 is the perfect entry-level 5G phone, featuring premium specs and an affordable price. *5G compatible with most GSM service providers (T-Mobile, AT&T, Etc). Will not work with CDMA Carriers. Check with your service provider for compatibility.
- Display: Features a 6.43-inch AMOLED display with 128GB of storage and 68 minutes of battery life
- Camera: Includes a 5MP front camera and 5G connectivity for fast wireless speeds
- Memory: Comes with 6GB of RAM and a 4500mAh battery for extended use
- Security: Equipped with a fingerprint sensor for quick and secure access
Price difference: why the observed figures do not settle value
At the October 7, 2026 check, OnePlus India displayed the Nord 5 “From ₹33,999,” while Motorola India showed the Edge 70 Pro at ₹39,999 against an MRP of ₹51,999. Separately, MySmartPrice showed ₹43,999 for the Nord 5 via Flipkart and ₹38,815 for the Edge 70 Pro via Amazon. The spread between these figures reflects different listing sources and potentially different offers or configurations; it is not a dependable price difference for equivalent phones.
Before deciding, compare the exact RAM/storage SKU and final checkout price from the same type of seller. Check stock, tax, bank discounts, exchange offers and seller identity: any of these can change the amount you actually pay. These are Indian rupee prices from India-facing pages, not guidance for other markets, and they may change after the check date.
Which one should you choose?
- Consider the Nord 5 if its larger stated battery capacity, Snapdragon platform, or OnePlus’s stated update commitment best fits your priorities. Confirm the exact software terms for the unit and region you plan to buy.
- Consider the Edge 70 Pro 5G if its listed 50 MP ultra-wide camera, 90 W charging rating, or IP68/IP69 protection rating is more relevant to you. The specifications alone do not establish camera quality or charge time.
- Let the current matched-variant price decide if you are otherwise undecided. Compare the same RAM and storage capacity and count only discounts you can actually use.
There is no supported overall value or performance winner from these specifications and listings alone. A firmer verdict would require current equivalent-SKU prices and comparable camera, battery, gaming and thermal tests.
