Price difference: India figures, not current quotes
OnePlus lists the Nord 5 from ₹33,999 in India. Samsung’s 3 March 2025 India launch announcement priced the Galaxy A56 at ₹41,999 for 8GB/128GB, ₹44,999 for 8GB/256GB and ₹47,999 for 12GB/256GB. Comparing the Nord 5 starting price with the A56’s 8GB/128GB launch price gives an ₹8,000 gap. These are manufacturer-published prices, not verified current retailer offers, and the configurations are not directly matched. OnePlus India; Samsung Newsroom India.

Which phone’s display and performance specs matter more?
The Nord 5 has the higher advertised refresh rate and resolution. Samsung specifies the A56’s 6.7-inch screen and 120 Hz maximum refresh rate; the captured Nord 5 product information does not state its screen size. Refresh rate and resolution describe panel specifications, not a measured judgment of image quality or everyday smoothness.
The listed chips are Snapdragon 8s Gen 3 for the Nord 5 and Exynos 1580 for the A56. The model names alone do not show which phone performs better in games, sustained workloads or daily use. No comparable independent benchmark or thermal testing is available here.
Battery and charging: capacity is not endurance
OnePlus advertises a 6,800 mAh battery and 80 W charging for the Nord 5; Samsung lists a 5,000 mAh typical battery and 45 W charging for the A56. Those figures make the Nord 5 the higher-capacity, higher-wattage option on paper. They do not establish how long either phone lasts or how quickly it charges in practice: usage, software, temperature and charging conditions affect those outcomes, and no comparable test figures are available.
Camera hardware and video features
The Nord 5’s listed camera highlights are a 50 MP Sony LYT-700 main sensor with optical image stabilization (OIS), a 50 MP front camera and a 4K 60 fps capture claim. Samsung specifies a 50 MP OIS main camera, 12 MP ultra-wide, 5 MP macro and 12 MP front camera; its India announcement also cites 10-bit HDR front recording.
Rank #2
- 5G Enabled - The OnePlus Nord N20 is the perfect entry-level 5G phone, featuring premium specs and an affordable price. *5G compatible with most GSM service providers (T-Mobile, AT&T, Etc). Will not work with CDMA Carriers. Check with your service provider for compatibility.
- Display: Features a 6.43-inch AMOLED display with 128GB of storage and 68 minutes of battery life
- Camera: Includes a 5MP front camera and 5G connectivity for fast wireless speeds
- Memory: Comes with 6GB of RAM and a 4500mAh battery for extended use
- Security: Equipped with a fingerprint sensor for quick and secure access
The A56 lists distinct ultra-wide and macro cameras, while the Nord 5 specifications cited here emphasize its main and front cameras. Megapixel counts and camera feature lists cannot establish which phone takes better photos or video. The available information does not provide a controlled image-quality comparison; check the exact regional model’s camera details if a particular recording mode matters to you.

Samsung states that the Galaxy A56 has IP67 dust and water resistance and Gorilla Glass Victus+. The cited OnePlus India information does not establish a comparable Nord 5 IP rating, so it would be unsafe to assume equivalent ingress protection from these specifications.
Samsung’s stated commitment is six generations of Android OS/One UI upgrades plus six years of security updates. OnePlus advertises four Android version updates and six years of security updates. That gives the A56 two more promised Android-version upgrades on paper; neither manufacturer’s commitment, by itself, specifies exactly when each update will arrive.
Which should you choose?
- Consider the Nord 5 if its advertised 144 Hz display, 6,800 mAh battery or 80 W charging best fits your priorities—and the exact price and configuration available to you make sense.
- Consider the Galaxy A56 if documented IP67 protection, Gorilla Glass Victus+ or Samsung’s six-generation Android/One UI upgrade commitment matters more to you.
- Compare the exact variants before buying. The India price gap above compares a starting price with Samsung’s 8GB/128GB launch price, not identical RAM and storage. Confirm current local pricing and availability rather than treating launch or MSRP figures as live offers.
Neither spec sheet settles real-world battery life, camera quality, sustained performance or personal display preference. Those questions require comparable testing or your own hands-on assessment.
