The OnePlus Nord 6 is the more forward-looking choice on paper: it has a much larger battery, a faster-refresh display, a newer chipset and a longer software-support commitment. The Nord 3 5G may make more sense if you find it substantially cheaper and want a capable phone without paying the Nord 6’s higher observed listing price. The prices below are dated reference points, not guaranteed current offers.

How much do the Nord 3 and Nord 6 cost in India?
There is no single price difference that applies across every configuration and seller. OnePlus’s original India MRP for the Nord 3 was ₹33,999 for 8GB RAM and 128GB storage, and ₹37,999 for 16GB RAM and 256GB storage. OnePlus described the Nord 6’s India launch segment as ₹35,000–₹40,000 when it launched on April 7, 2026. Those figures describe different kinds of pricing: the Nord 3 figures are original MRPs, while the Nord 6 figure is launch positioning, not a configuration-specific retail price.
A 91mobiles comparison-page snapshot accessed on October 7, 2026 listed the Nord 3 at ₹29,999 and the Nord 6 at ₹46,999, with retailer references. These are volatile listing snapshots, not verified live quotes; the Nord 3 configuration and retailer terms may not match the Nord 6 listing. Check the exact RAM/storage option, seller, stock and warranty before buying.

What does the Nord 6 improve most?
Battery capacity and display refresh rate
The Nord 6’s listed 9,000mAh battery is substantially larger than the Nord 3’s 5,000mAh battery, while both list 80W charging. Capacity alone does not establish real-world runtime or charging time: usage, network conditions, software and charging conditions all matter. OnePlus also advertises figures such as 26.9 hours of YouTube playback and 165 FPS gaming for the Nord 6 based on controlled manufacturer testing; they should not be read as typical-user guarantees or independent measurements.
The Nord 6 display is listed at 165Hz, compared with the Nord 3’s dynamic 40–120Hz range. Both have a resolution around 2772 pixels wide, though the Nord 6 is slightly taller at 2772 × 1272 versus 2772 × 1240. A higher maximum refresh rate can make supported content feel smoother, but it does not by itself establish overall display quality or battery impact.
Newer platform and longer stated support
The Nord 3 launched in 2023 with OxygenOS 13.1 based on Android 13 and a MediaTek Dimensity 9000 processor. OnePlus states at least three Android OS generations and four years of security updates from launch. The Nord 6, launched in 2026, uses the Snapdragon 8s Gen 4 and is promised four Android OS updates and six years of security updates.
For a buyer, the relevant support question is how much of that period remains from the purchase date, not just the total years originally promised. The chipset specifications show that the phones use different platforms, but without like-for-like independent testing they do not settle how much faster one will feel in a particular app or game.

Are the cameras meaningfully different?
Both phones list a 50MP main camera with optical image stabilisation and an 8MP ultra-wide. The Nord 3 adds a 2MP macro camera, while the Nord 6 lists a 32MP front camera compared with 16MP on the Nord 3. The Nord 3 lists rear video capture at 4K 30fps and 60fps; the Nord 6 page specifies 4K 60fps capture.
Those specifications describe hardware and supported modes, not which phone produces better-looking photos or video. Megapixel counts alone do not establish selfie quality, and the available specifications do not provide an independent camera comparison.
Durability and 5G compatibility to check
Gadgets 360 lists the Nord 3 as IP54. OnePlus lists IP66/68/69/69K ratings for the Nord 6, alongside test-condition and water-resistance cautions. These ratings are not a reason to deliberately immerse either phone or expose it to seawater; water resistance can decline over time.
OnePlus says the Nord 6’s 5G-Advanced support is with Reliance Jio only. That specific claim should not be treated as a promise that the feature works on every carrier. Check compatibility with your operator and the network features available in your area.
