The OnePlus Nord 6 is a substantial upgrade on paper over the Nord 2 in processor generation, display refresh rate, battery capacity, charging and published software support. It is also considerably larger: the Nord 6 has a 6.78-inch display, compared with 6.43 inches on the Nord 2. At India launch, their starting prices differed by ₹11,000, but those figures covered different memory and storage configurations and are not current street prices.

What the spec differences mean in everyday use
Nord 6 is newer, but the figures are specifications, not comparative test results
The Nord 6’s Snapdragon 8s Gen 4 is a much newer processor platform than the Nord 2’s Dimensity 1200-AI. That makes the Nord 6 the stronger choice on paper for buyers prioritizing a newer chipset. The specifications available here do not establish a measured performance margin, however, so a numerical benchmark advantage should not be inferred.

The Nord 6 screen is faster and larger
The Nord 6 combines a 165Hz refresh rate with a 6.78-inch display, while the Nord 2 has a 90Hz, 6.43-inch display. The newer model has more screen area and a higher listed refresh rate; the Nord 2’s smaller dimensions may suit people who prefer a more compact phone or easier one-handed handling. The official brightness figure for the Nord 6 is a manufacturer-listed HDR specification, not a comparative brightness test.

OnePlus lists a 7,500mAh battery and 80W charging for the Nord 6, versus 4,500mAh and 65W for the Nord 2. The Nord 6 therefore has 3,000mAh more rated battery capacity and a higher stated wired charging rate. Capacity alone does not determine runtime: actual battery life varies with display settings, connectivity, apps and usage. OnePlus’s under-35-minute charging statement for the Nord 2 applies to its stated 0–100% conditions and should not be treated as a direct comparison with the Nord 6.

Software support promises are not the same age
OnePlus’s two-Android-update and three-year security-update commitment for the Nord 2 was made at its 2021 launch. The current OnePlus Mexico Nord 6 page lists four Android OS updates and six years of security updates. These are promises published at different launch points, not evidence that both devices currently have the same remaining support period; check the phone’s regional support information and update status before buying.
Camera specifications do not settle image quality
The Nord 2’s listed rear setup includes a 50MP Sony IMX766 main sensor with optical image stabilization, an 8MP ultra-wide camera and a 2MP mono lens. The reviewed official Nord 6 page identifies a 50MP OIS main camera and a 32MP front camera, but does not expose all rear-camera details in the available page content. Megapixel counts and stabilization labels alone cannot establish which phone takes better photos; no comparable independent camera test is established here.

India launch price difference: ₹11,000, not a current-price comparison
At India launch, Nord 2 started at ₹27,999 for 6GB/128GB, while Nord 6 started at ₹38,999 for 8GB/256GB. The ₹11,000 difference is calculated from those reported starting prices. It is not a like-for-like comparison: the Nord 6 base configuration has more RAM and storage, and the launches were almost five years apart.

Which phone makes more sense?
- Choose the Nord 6 if: your priorities are a newer processor platform, a larger and faster-refresh display, greater rated battery capacity, higher stated wired charging power or the longer published software commitment.
- Consider the Nord 2 if: you specifically value its more compact 6.43-inch size and are assessing a particular available listing based on its current condition and price. Its 2021 launch price does not indicate what a used or remaining-stock unit should cost now.
- Compare carefully if cameras are decisive: the specifications do not establish a photo-quality winner, so look for comparable independent samples for the exact models and software versions before choosing.
The models launched nearly five years apart, and the Nord 6 has the stronger published specifications across several key areas. The main trade-offs are its larger size and the fact that the available price comparison is historical and between different configurations.
