A OnePlus 16R launch in India could come in December 2026 or January 2027, according to a report published by 91mobiles on October 9, 2026, citing tipster Gadgetsdata on X. The report describes the 16R as “very likely” and only guesses that a second phone could be the OnePlus 16. Neither device nor an India launch date has been confirmed by OnePlus.
When will the OnePlus 16 launch in India?
There is no confirmed India launch date. The only reported window is December 2026 or January 2027, based on the October 9, 2026 report from 91mobiles, which attributes the claim to Gadgetsdata on X. The report presents the OnePlus 16R as “very likely” to launch in India during that period; the OnePlus 16 is a guess for the possible second model, not a confirmed part of the plan.

The report also says the OnePlus 16 is scheduled to launch in China on October 12, 2026. That reported China timing does not establish that the phone will launch in India, or when it might do so.
Are the OnePlus 16 and 16R coming to India?
For now, the claim is a tipster-based rumor. The 91mobiles report does not amount to an announcement from OnePlus, and it does not confirm that two phones will launch in India. The distinction matters: its wording makes the 16R the likely model, while identifying the OnePlus 16 as a possibility inferred by the tipster.

The announcement’s 13R details—6.78-inch 1.5K display, Snapdragon 8 Gen 3 and 6,000mAh battery—are historical context, not specifications for a future 16R. Does OnePlus’s statement about India confirm the launches?
No. In January 2026, OnePlus India CEO Robin Liu said, “I wanted to address some misinformation that has been circulating about OnePlus India and its operations. We’re operating as usual and will continue to do so,” as quoted by Android Central. Liu was addressing the status of Indian operations at that time; the statement did not confirm either rumored phone or its launch timing.
