Which has the better display?
The OnePlus 13R has the larger listed screen at 6.78 inches, compared with 6.59 inches on the REDMI Turbo 5. OnePlus also specifies LTPO 4.1 with a dynamic 1–120Hz refresh rate, while Xiaomi lists a 120Hz AMOLED panel without an LTPO specification on the inspected product page. The 13R is the more compelling specification choice if you want more screen area or adaptive refresh; the Redmi’s smaller display may suit someone who prefers a more compact phone.

Does the OnePlus 13R or REDMI Turbo 5 have the faster processor?
The 13R uses Qualcomm’s Snapdragon 8 Gen 3, while the Turbo 5 uses MediaTek’s Dimensity 8500 Ultra. Those platform names establish a hardware difference, not a tested performance winner: no comparable benchmark or sustained-use test is available here.
Configuration may matter as much as the chip for some buyers. OnePlus lists up to 16GB RAM and 512GB storage, while Xiaomi lists up to 12GB RAM and 256GB storage. OnePlus specifies LPDDR5X and UFS 4.0; Xiaomi specifies LPDDR5X and UFS 4.1. Do not infer overall speed from the storage-generation labels alone.
Battery and charging: Redmi has the bigger numbers
Xiaomi lists a 7,540mAh battery and 100W HyperCharge for the Turbo 5. OnePlus lists a 6,000mAh typical-capacity battery and 80W SUPERVOOC for the 13R. On the published figures, the Redmi has the higher capacity and charging wattage; this is not proof of longer battery life or a faster full charge under everyday conditions.
Xiaomi says the Turbo 5 can charge up to 51% in approximately 30 minutes. That is a manufacturer claim, not an independently tested result, and charging time can depend on conditions. Xiaomi lists a 100W adapter in the box on its India product page. OnePlus lists an adapter among the 13R’s in-box items; check the exact market package when purchasing.
Camera comparison: which has a telephoto camera?
The OnePlus 13R is the one with a dedicated telephoto camera: its published rear setup includes a 50MP telephoto lens with 2× optical zoom, alongside a 50MP main camera with OIS and an 8MP ultrawide. Xiaomi lists a dual rear-camera setup for the Turbo 5: a 50MP Sony IMX882 main camera with OIS and an 8MP ultrawide. No dedicated telephoto camera is listed in the cited Xiaomi specifications.
For portraits or subjects that benefit from optical zoom, the 13R offers a lens the Redmi’s published rear-camera configuration does not. That does not establish which phone produces better photos overall; comparable image samples or testing would be needed. The front-camera resolutions are 16MP for OnePlus and 20MP for Xiaomi, but megapixel count alone does not determine selfie quality.

Software support and durability
OnePlus lists OxygenOS 15 based on Android 15 for the 13R. Xiaomi lists HyperOS 3 for the Turbo 5 and states that it will receive four years of Android OS upgrades and six years of security updates. That commitment is Xiaomi’s published statement; the inspected OnePlus specifications page does not give a comparable support duration, so it cannot establish that OnePlus support is shorter. See Xiaomi’s REDMI Turbo 5 FAQ for its update and product claims.

The inspected OnePlus specifications extract does not state an IP rating. That is not evidence that the 13R has no rating; verify OnePlus’s current regional product details if ingress protection is a deciding factor.
Price difference in India
OnePlus India lists an MRP of ₹42,999 for the 13R with 12GB RAM and 256GB storage, and ₹49,999 for the 16GB + 512GB version. The official Xiaomi India product page inspected does not state a Turbo 5 price, so a numeric price difference cannot be established from these sources.
For a fair buying comparison, check live prices for the same market and comparable RAM/storage configurations. Treat MRP, current list price, and temporary sale price as different measures, and compare seller, warranty, return terms, and regional variant as well.
Which phone should you buy?
- Choose the OnePlus 13R if you want the larger listed display, LTPO refresh-rate specification, a dedicated 2× optical telephoto camera, or the option of 16GB RAM and 512GB storage.
- Consider the REDMI Turbo 5 if you prioritize the larger listed battery, higher stated wired charging wattage, a smaller screen, Xiaomi’s stated update schedule, or the listed IP ratings.
- Compare current offers before deciding because a verified, matched REDMI Turbo 5 price is not available on the cited official India page.
These are spec-based trade-offs, not a universal winner. Choose based on the features you will use and verify the exact variant’s local price, warranty, and support terms.
What comes in the box?
OnePlus lists an adapter, cable, protective case, and SIM ejector among the 13R’s in-box items. Xiaomi lists a 100W adapter, cable, protective case, pre-applied screen protector, SIM tool, and manual for the Turbo 5. Package contents can vary by market or listing, so confirm what is included with the seller before buying accessories.
