What the camera differences mean
Choose OnePlus for a dedicated optical-zoom camera
The 13R’s 50MP telephoto camera is specified for 2x optical zoom. That gives it a dedicated camera for tighter framing alongside its main and ultrawide cameras.

Random freezes, missing sound and display glitches usually trace back to one bad driver. Find and replace yours safely.Free scan · under a minuteChoose Motorola for its listed ultrawide/macro and selfie autofocus
Motorola lists a 50MP ultrawide/macro rear camera and a 50MP autofocus front camera. Its specification sheet does not list a telephoto camera. The larger megapixel counts do not by themselves establish that Motorola takes better photos or selfies; camera quality depends on more than resolution.

Battery, display and protection: Motorola’s listed advantages
Motorola specifies a 6,500mAh battery and 90W wired charging, versus 6,000mAh and 80W on the OnePlus. Those are capacity and charging-rate specifications, not evidence of a particular runtime or full-charge time. Motorola also lists a maximum refresh rate of 144Hz, compared with the OnePlus display’s dynamic 1–120Hz range.
The published ingress-protection ratings are IP68/IP69 for Motorola and IP65 for OnePlus. These ratings describe tested resistance to dust and water under defined conditions; they are not a promise that a phone cannot be damaged by water, dust, wear, or misuse.
Storage, weight and software support
OnePlus is the only one of the two with a listed 512GB configuration. Both manufacturers list LPDDR5X RAM, while the stated storage types are UFS 4.0 for OnePlus and UFS 4.1 for Motorola. Neither official specification page lists expandable storage.
The Motorola’s listed weight depends on finish: 183g for silk and 190g for acetate, versus 206g for the OnePlus. For software, Motorola lists Android 16 and up to three years of OS upgrades and security patches; OnePlus lists OxygenOS 15 based on Android 15. The remaining update-support period for the OnePlus was not established by the reviewed product information, so these are not directly comparable support promises.

Price difference in India: compare the same kind of price
OnePlus India lists an MRP of ₹42,999 for the 12GB/256GB 13R and ₹49,999 for the 16GB/512GB model. Motorola’s India shop page showed an offer price of ₹39,999 against an MRP of ₹51,999. On those published figures, Motorola’s displayed offer is ₹3,000 below the OnePlus 12GB/256GB MRP, but this compares an offer with an MRP—not two like-for-like transaction prices. Motorola India shop listing; OnePlus India pricing.
A third-party comparison page showed ₹54,999 for OnePlus and ₹39,999 for Motorola, a ₹15,000 difference on that page. The OnePlus quote conflicts with its official published MRP, so it should not be treated as a typical street price without checking the retailer, exact variant, stock and current offer. Comparison page.
Which phone should you choose?
- Pick the OnePlus 13R if a dedicated 2x optical telephoto camera or the listed 16GB/512GB configuration matters most.
- Pick the Motorola Edge 70 Pro 5G if you prioritize the larger stated battery, higher wired-charging wattage, 144Hz maximum refresh rate, listed IP68/IP69 protection, or autofocus on the front camera.
- Compare checkout prices before deciding: use the same storage tier where possible and distinguish MRP from a temporary offer.
Neither a universal performance winner nor a photo-quality or battery-life winner can be established from these specifications alone.
