Do these 3 things before closing this tab:
1Fix the driver behind crashes, sound loss and screen glitches2Repair Windows errors before they cause bigger problems3Scan for outdated or missing drivers - takes under a minuteThe OnePlus 12R and OnePlus Nord 5 make different trade-offs: the 12R lists a larger 5,500 mAh battery and a dynamic LTPO display, while the Nord 5 lists a faster maximum 144 Hz refresh rate, a newer-named Snapdragon platform, and higher-resolution front camera. Both cited spec pages list 80W SUPERVOOC charging. There is no reliable like-for-like current price comparison here, so the better choice depends on local pricing, storage tier and priorities—not the model names alone.
OnePlus 12R vs Nord 5 specs at a glance
The table uses OnePlus specifications from different regional pages: the 12R figures are from the US page, the Nord 5 specifications from the Estonia page, and its support claim from the UK product page. Regional models and included configurations can differ, so confirm the exact version sold in your country.

Nord 5: higher listed maximum refresh rate
The Nord 5 specification lists a 6.83-inch AMOLED display with a refresh rate of up to 144 Hz. A higher maximum can matter to people who prefer very smooth scrolling or play games that support higher refresh rates, but it does not establish overall display quality.
#1 Best Overall
- Large 5000mAh Battery: Provides long-lasting power for all-day use
- 6.49 Inch Full HD+ Display: Features a 90Hz refresh rate for smooth scrolling and vivid visuals
- Octa-Core Processor: Runs at lightning-fast speeds for seamless multitasking
- Triple Camera System: Includes 13MP main, 2MP macro, and 2MP depth lenses for crisp, detailed photos
- 5G Capable: Connects to the fastest network speeds for lightning-fast downloads and streaming
12R: dynamic LTPO refresh
The 12R lists a 6.78-inch LTPO 4.0 panel that dynamically varies from 1 to 120 Hz. That is a different approach from simply comparing maximum refresh rates. The specifications alone do not show which screen will look better or use less power in a particular person’s routine.
Performance: different Snapdragon platforms, no head-to-head result
OnePlus lists Snapdragon 8 Gen 2 for the 12R and Snapdragon 8s Gen 3 for the Nord 5, with Adreno 740 and Adreno 735 graphics respectively. These names and graphics components identify different platforms, but they are not enough to declare a real-world performance winner. No comparable independent benchmark or sustained-use test is established by these specifications.

- Powerful Processing Performance: Qualcomm Snapdragon 695 chipset with up to 8GB of expandable virtual RAM enables fast app switching and smooth multitasking
Choose based on the configuration available to you and credible testing of the exact regional model if gaming, demanding apps or long-term performance is decisive. Do not assume that a higher generation number guarantees better results in every workload.

The US 12R specification lists a 5,500 mAh non-removable battery; the Nord 5 Estonia specification lists 5,200 mAh. Both pages list 80W SUPERVOOC charging. The Nord 5 page additionally lists 18W PD and 55W PPS charging support.

The 12R has the larger stated capacity, but that figure does not prove it lasts longer: screen settings, network conditions, software, workload and regional hardware can affect endurance. The specifications are not a controlled battery-life comparison. Confirm charging compatibility and what is included with the local model rather than assuming a charger or charging rate applies everywhere.
Cameras: published megapixels do not settle image quality
The 12R US page gives more detail about its rear system: a 50 MP Sony IMX890 main camera with optical image stabilization, an 8 MP ultrawide and a 2 MP macro camera; it lists a 16 MP front camera. The Nord 5 UK product page advertises a 50 MP rear camera and a 50 MP front camera, but the cited information does not provide an equivalent breakdown of its rear cameras.

- 5G Enabled - The OnePlus Nord N20 is the perfect entry-level 5G phone, featuring premium specs and an affordable price. *5G compatible with most GSM service providers (T-Mobile, AT&T, Etc). Will not work with CDMA Carriers. Check with your service provider for compatibility.
- Display: Features a 6.43-inch AMOLED display with 128GB of storage and 68 minutes of battery life
- Camera: Includes a 5MP front camera and 5G connectivity for fast wireless speeds
- Memory: Comes with 6GB of RAM and a 4500mAh battery for extended use
- Security: Equipped with a fingerprint sensor for quick and secure access
That makes a direct camera ranking unsupported. More megapixels do not by themselves mean better photos, and the cited figures do not compare processing, low-light results, video, autofocus or image stabilization across both models. If photography matters most, look for side-by-side samples from the exact regional versions.

Software support: compare the stated commitments by region
The US 12R specifications page says the phone will receive at least three generations of Android OS upgrades and four years of security updates from launch. OnePlus’s UK Nord 5 page advertises “4 Android versions, 6-year security.” These are manufacturer-published commitments, not a confirmation of the update status of a particular device today. The pages also come from different regions; check the terms and current update information for the model sold in your market.

Price difference: compare current listings, not old launch prices
A defensible current price gap cannot be stated from the available official specifications: they do not provide equivalent live prices by market and configuration. Prices, promotions and stock change, and the listed storage tiers are not identical. Comparing a discounted base configuration with a higher-capacity version can give a misleading result.
For a useful comparison, check listings in the same country and currency, with the same storage where possible, and account for seller, warranty, condition and included accessories. If matching configurations are unavailable, make the difference in capacity explicit instead of treating the prices as directly equivalent.
Which phone should you choose?
- Consider the 12R if its 5,500 mAh listed battery, dynamic 1–120 Hz LTPO display, or specified rear-camera components better fit your priorities—and its local price and configuration make sense.
- Consider the Nord 5 if you value its listed up-to-144 Hz display, its advertised 50 MP front camera, or the longer support commitment published on the UK product page, subject to regional applicability.
- Compare the exact local listings if price is the deciding factor. Match storage, warranty and seller before deciding which costs more or offers better value.
Neither spec sheet establishes a universal winner for speed, endurance, camera quality or value. Those judgments require comparable testing and current, region-matched prices.
