To find OneDrive on a Samsung Galaxy phone, swipe up from the Home screen to open the Apps screen, search for “OneDrive,” and tap the app if it appears. If it is not installed, search for it in Google Play Store or Galaxy Store. Finding the app is separate from enabling photo backup—and Samsung Gallery’s direct OneDrive sync ended after September 30, 2026.

What to do if OneDrive does not appear
If the search returns no app, open Google Play Store or Galaxy Store, search for OneDrive, and follow the install prompts on its listing. Samsung documents both stores as routes for finding and installing apps. Whether OneDrive is already installed—and the exact store layout—can vary by phone model, software version, region, and settings. Samsung’s app-search and install guidance
How to turn on OneDrive camera backup
Opening OneDrive does not automatically mean your camera photos are being backed up. To enable uploads, open OneDrive, tap your account image at the top left, turn on Camera backup, confirm, and grant access to photos and videos if prompted. Understand what Camera backup does
Camera backup uploads the phone’s camera roll to OneDrive; it is not two-way photo synchronization. Do not assume that deleting a local photo will delete its cloud copy, or that removing a photo from OneDrive will remove the phone’s copy. Microsoft says Samsung Gallery stopped syncing directly with OneDrive starting September 30, 2026; new users cannot link the apps after that date. Photos already stored in OneDrive remain accessible in the OneDrive app and at onedrive.com. The former Gallery connection was not available to every Samsung user: availability depended on carrier, phone model, and market, and it could be linked only to a personal OneDrive account—not a work or school account.
