Samsung began expanding the release to the Galaxy S26 series on September 16, 2026, after it had rolled out to the Galaxy Z Fold8 Ultra, Z Fold8 and Z Flip8. In the US, availability is arriving in stages by model and carrier, so check your own phone rather than relying on a general rollout announcement.
Is the One UI 9 update available in the US?
Yes. The stable rollout has reached some US Galaxy devices, but not all eligible phones at once. On September 28, 2026, Android Central reported that Samsung support pages listed Galaxy S26-series builds for T-Mobile, Metro by T-Mobile and US Cellular, and that reports from unlocked S26 owners were also emerging. That is a dated status snapshot, not confirmation that every customer on those networks has received the update. Android Central’s US rollout report

Earlier, on September 23, Android Central reported that the update had appeared on some T-Mobile Galaxy S26 Ultra devices, while other carriers and unlocked models did not yet appear to have it. Rollout status can change, and a report about one model or carrier does not establish availability for another.
When is One UI 9 coming to my Galaxy phone?
Samsung has not published a complete US stable-update schedule for every Galaxy phone and tablet in the sources available. Its September 16 announcement said the update had rolled out to the Galaxy Z Fold8 Ultra, Galaxy Z Fold8 and Galaxy Z Flip8, and that the expansion was starting with the Galaxy S26, S26+ and S26 Ultra. Samsung said the release would expand gradually to other Galaxy devices. Samsung’s One UI 9 rollout announcement

The company has not confirmed a date for every model, carrier or region. For current device-specific status, check Software Update on the phone or Samsung Members; do not treat a beta listing or reports from another carrier as a stable-release date for your device.
How do I check for the One UI 9 update?
- Open Settings. You can get there by opening Quick Settings and tapping the Settings icon.
- Scroll to and tap Software Update.
- Tap Check for updates.
- If an update is offered, follow the on-screen instructions to download and install it.
Samsung notes that update availability can vary by device, carrier and network. If no update appears, that only tells you it is not being offered to your phone at that check; it does not confirm that your model will never receive it. Samsung’s instructions are available on its US software-update support page.

Which Galaxy phones get One UI 9?
Samsung’s September 16 stable-rollout announcement names the Galaxy Z Fold8 Ultra, Z Fold8 and Z Flip8 as already updated, and the Galaxy S26, S26+ and S26 Ultra as the starting point for the next expansion. It says other Galaxy devices will follow gradually, but does not provide a complete model-by-model US stable schedule.
Samsung’s September 1 beta announcement listed the Galaxy Z Fold7, Z Flip7, S25, S25+, S25 Ultra and S25 FE for beta participation in select markets, including the US. Beta eligibility is not confirmation that the stable release is available, or a promise of when it will arrive on a particular carrier or device. Samsung’s beta-program announcement

What to expect from One UI 9 features
Samsung highlights several features, but their availability is not uniform across every Galaxy device or region:
- My FanCam can track a selected person in recorded video and keep them centered. Samsung says it requires a Samsung Account and may not work when there is no trackable subject.
- Security Brief brings security and privacy updates into Now Brief.
- Privacy Alerts use on-device AI to surface potential privacy risks, such as unnecessary background permission access. Samsung lists supported devices for this feature, but support does not prove that each device has already received the stable update.
Samsung cautions that features may vary by country, region, language, model, One UI or operating-system version, and app. Some functions need a network connection or Samsung Account, and Samsung does not guarantee the accuracy of generated results or alerts. Read the feature and availability notes from Samsung for the stated qualifications.

Where to find the feature guide after updating
Samsung says the device’s manual or Setup Wizard has more information about features after upgrading. Depending on the phone, look for a menu labeled User manual, Tips and user manual, Help, Tips and user guide or Tips and help, then search for “What’s new in One UI 9.” Samsung’s US support instructions describe these options.
