The A57 launched in March 2026 with One UI 8.5. Samsung says One UI 9 will gradually reach more Galaxy devices, so A57 owners must check their regional update channel rather than assume eligibility.
The announcement describes substantial changes to video editing, Now Brief, device care, translation, scanning, recording, privacy and scam protection. Those are announced One UI 9 capabilities—not a feature list confirmed for the A57. Samsung says support can vary by model, country, region, language, carrier, network, account and accessories.

What Samsung has confirmed about One UI 9 on the A57
Samsung Electronics announced the official One UI 9 rollout on September 16, 2026. Its wording is deliberately broad: “The update is expected to gradually roll out to other Galaxy devices.” The announcement names initial Galaxy devices but does not name the Galaxy A57 5G, state that the A57 is eligible, or publish an A57-specific date.
That matters because the Galaxy A57 5G launched on March 25, 2026 with One UI 8.5. Samsung’s launch announcement describes the software supplied with the phone, while the later One UI 9 announcement describes the new platform generally. Neither document connects the A57 to a particular One UI 9 wave.

As of October 17, 2026, the accurate status is therefore unconfirmed availability. An A57 may receive an update in a particular market or carrier channel later, but Samsung’s general rollout statement is not proof that the update is already downloadable on every A57.
One UI 9 changes Samsung has announced
The table below separates Samsung’s announced capabilities from A57 confirmation. “Not confirmed” means Samsung’s reviewed public material does not establish that the feature works on the A57.
| One UI 9 area | What Samsung says changed | Galaxy A57 status |
|---|---|---|
| My FanCam | Tracks a selected person in recorded video and reframes footage to keep that person centered. | Not confirmed for A57 |
| Now Brief cards | Generative and Editable Cards let users choose content for daily summaries, including health, weather and video. | Not confirmed for A57 |
| Warranty and Care | Adds coverage checks, self-diagnostics, repair estimates, Samsung Care+ management and service booking inside Settings. | Not confirmed; menus can differ by country or region |
| Now Nudge | Provides context-aware suggestions during tasks, such as planning in a text conversation. | Not confirmed for A57 |
| Creative Studio | Suggests image-generation ideas based on upcoming events. | Not confirmed for A57 |
| Interpreter | Adds Thread View and faster Conversation Mode translation. Faster playback is associated with compatible Galaxy Buds. | Not confirmed; accessory and language support apply |
| Document Scan | Better handles curved pages and folded corners and improves Finger Eraser. | Not confirmed for A57 |
| Voice Recorder | Shows summaries with structured elements such as headings and tables. | Not confirmed for A57 |
| Security Brief | Surfaces alerts about malware, unknown-source apps and unnecessary permissions in Now Brief. | Not confirmed for A57 |
| Privacy Alerts | Uses on-device AI to identify possible privacy risks. | Not confirmed for A57 |
| Scam Detection | Expands to additional countries and languages. | Not confirmed; country and language support apply |
What each announced feature does
My FanCam keeps a subject in frame
My FanCam is intended for situations where the camera operator cannot keep a moving person centered manually. You select a person in an already recorded video, and the feature tracks that subject and reframes the footage around them. Samsung’s description is a capability statement, not an independent test of tracking accuracy.
A Samsung Account is required, and Samsung notes that tracking may not work when there is no suitable subject. If the A57 eventually receives One UI 9, the camera hardware, software build and local availability will determine whether this option appears.
Now Brief becomes more customizable
One UI 9 adds Generative and Editable Cards to Now Brief. Instead of treating the daily summary as a fixed feed, users can choose the types of information they want represented, with Samsung citing health, weather and video as examples. Now Brief requires a Samsung Account, and some functions may require a network connection.

The presence of Now Brief on another Galaxy phone should not be used as evidence that every card type will appear on the A57. Samsung lists model, language, region and One UI version among the factors that can change availability.
Warranty and Care moves support tools into Settings
The new Warranty and Care area is designed to collect ownership and service tasks in one place. Samsung describes coverage checks, self-diagnostics, repair estimates, Samsung Care+ management and service booking. The exact menu can differ by country or region, so even an A57 that receives One UI 9 may not show every item listed in the announcement.

Now Nudge offers contextual suggestions
Now Nudge is intended to understand the task currently in progress and suggest a next step. Samsung gives planning over text as an example. The feature is therefore more contextual than a conventional static shortcut, but its suggestions depend on the task, supported language, account state and network services.
Creative Studio suggests image ideas
Creative Studio can suggest image-generation concepts tied to upcoming events. Samsung says it requires both a network connection and a Samsung Account. This is an announced One UI 9 function, not a guarantee that image generation or every creative tool will be enabled on the A57.
Interpreter adds Thread View and faster Conversation Mode
Interpreter gains Thread View, which is intended to make translated exchanges easier to follow, and a faster Conversation Mode. Samsung also mentions quicker playback through compatible Galaxy Buds. The faster playback reference is accessory-dependent; it should not be interpreted as a speed improvement available from the phone speaker alone.

Translation support can vary by language and country. A compatible One UI build does not automatically mean that every language pair or Buds integration is enabled.
Quick wins for a faster PC:
Fix the driver behind crashes, sound loss and screen glitchesFind Drivers →Repair Windows errors before they cause bigger problemsFix Now →Document Scan handles difficult pages better
Document Scan is designed to cope more effectively with curved pages and folded corners. Samsung also describes an improved Finger Eraser for removing a finger or similar obstruction from a scan. Whether the feature appears in the A57’s Gallery, Camera or document workflow depends on the final device implementation.
Voice Recorder creates structured summaries
One UI 9’s Voice Recorder can present summaries using structures such as headings and tables. This is separate from the A57 launch feature called Voice Transcription. At launch, Samsung said Voice Transcription could transcribe and translate call recordings or turn voicemail audio into text. Those capabilities belong to the A57’s launch software and should not be labeled as One UI 9 additions.
Security Brief, Privacy Alerts and Scam Detection
Security Brief is described as a Now Brief component that can surface warnings about malware, apps installed from unknown sources and unnecessary permissions. Privacy Alerts use on-device AI to identify possible privacy risks. Scam Detection is expanding to additional countries and languages.
These tools are security aids, not proof that a message, app or permission is safe. Their usefulness depends on supported languages, local rollout, model support and the quality of the signals available on the device. Samsung has not published an A57-specific activation statement for them.

Why an A57 owner should not assume the update is available
Samsung’s rollout language describes a staged expansion, not a simultaneous release. Galaxy updates can be distributed by model, market, country, carrier and software channel. Samsung’s support guidance also warns that feature availability can differ by device, carrier and network. The One UI 9 announcement adds language, region and operating-system or One UI version to that list.
That creates several separate questions:
- Is the Galaxy A57 model variant eligible?
- Has Samsung released the build in your country or region?
- Has your carrier approved or distributed it?
- Does the specific feature support your language and network?
- Does it require a Samsung Account, compatible Galaxy Buds or another accessory?
A “yes” to the first question would not guarantee a “yes” to all the others. Samsung’s public material reviewed for this article answers none of those questions specifically for the A57.
How to check for One UI 9 on a Galaxy A57
Use Samsung’s own update screen rather than relying on a generic rollout headline:
- Open Settings.
- Tap Software update.
- Tap Check for updates.
- If an update is offered, read the version number, change log, download size and installation requirements before accepting it.
- Install over a reliable Wi-Fi connection with the phone sufficiently charged, or connected to a charger.
If the screen reports that the software is up to date, that means no update is being offered to that device through its current channel at that moment. It does not establish that the A57 will never receive One UI 9, nor does it prove that every announced One UI 9 feature will be included in a future package.

What the A57’s support promise does—and does not—mean
Samsung says the Galaxy A57 5G and Galaxy A37 5G receive up to six generations of Android OS and One UI upgrades and up to six years of security updates. Both figures come from Samsung’s March 25, 2026 launch announcement.

“Up to six generations” is a long-term support commitment, not a release schedule for One UI 9. It does not specify the month of an update, guarantee that every new feature will run on the A57, or override carrier and regional certification. Likewise, six years of security updates does not mean every security-related One UI 9 feature will be enabled on the phone.
Launch features that are easy to confuse with One UI 9
The A57 shipped with One UI 8.5, and Samsung highlighted Voice Transcription at launch. That function can transcribe and translate call recordings or convert voicemail audio into text. If you already see it on an A57 running One UI 8.5, its presence does not indicate that One UI 9 has arrived.
When checking an update, use the displayed One UI version and Android version, not the presence of an individual app feature. Samsung can also update an app or service independently of the main operating-system package.
If One UI 9 appears but a feature is missing
A partial feature set does not necessarily indicate a failed installation. Samsung explicitly ties availability to several conditions. Check these in order:
- Model and build: Open the software information page and confirm the exact model number and One UI version.
- Region and carrier: A feature or service menu may be withheld in a particular country or carrier channel.
- Language: Translation, scam detection and contextual functions can have narrower language support.
- Account: My FanCam, Now Brief and Creative Studio may require a Samsung Account.
- Network: Now Brief, Creative Studio and other connected functions may need an internet connection.
- Accessory: Faster Interpreter playback refers to compatible Galaxy Buds.
- Content: My FanCam may not offer tracking when the recording contains no suitable subject.
Do not sideload an unofficial firmware package to force a feature. An unapproved build can create compatibility, security and warranty problems, and it cannot make a region- or language-restricted service available.
How to read Samsung’s announcement accurately
Samsung’s September 16 announcement is useful for understanding the direction and named capabilities of One UI 9. It is not an A57 compatibility list. The March 25 A57 launch announcement establishes One UI 8.5 at release and the phone’s support commitment, but it is not a One UI 9 schedule.
Until Samsung publishes a notice that explicitly names the Galaxy A57 and identifies the applicable market or carrier, the responsible description is: One UI 9 has been announced, while Galaxy A57 availability and timing remain unconfirmed in the official material reviewed.
