Once Human’s “seasonal reset” is a scenario transition, not a deletion of your character. Some scenario progress resets, some data carries over automatically, and eligible items move to Eternaland for selective transfer into another scenario. You do not have to join a new scenario immediately. Check the current in-game Scenario Description and sign-up screen for the rules and costs that apply to your server.
What does a seasonal reset mean in Once Human?
A scenario is a themed server experience. Scenarios can differ in map, story, rules, environmental mechanics, phases, and PvE or PvP play. Phase lengths vary; the official FAQ describes durations ranging from a few days to dozens of days, so there is no single schedule that applies to every scenario.

At a transition, scenario-specific progression and supplies are handled differently from persistent character data. The development team’s August 20, 2026 Console Launch FAQ is the most current official reference here; its Q24–Q28 address scenarios, transition choices, inheritance, and signup. The in-game Scenario Description and sign-up screen determine the exact classifications for a particular scenario.

| Category | Transition treatment | What to know |
|---|---|---|
| Character level and Memetics | Reset according to scenario rules | These are scenario progression, not a promise of permanent character advancement. |
| Weapons, armor, materials, medicine, Deviations, and calibration blueprints | Transferred to Eternaland when you exit the current scenario to play a new one | From Eternaland, selected eligible items can be brought into a new scenario using Resource Inheritance Points. Eligibility and point cost vary by item; consult the in-game screen. |
| Fashions, some character data, most currencies, blueprints, formulas, design layouts, task progress, operation items, and event items or data | Directly inherited, without spending Resource Inheritance Points, according to the current FAQ | “Most currencies” does not mean every currency. Check the current scenario rules for any item-specific exception. |
| Energy Links | Convert to Astral Sand at transition | The current FAQ does not state the conversion ratio. |
The FAQ’s item list is a broad current guide, not a guarantee that every item is eligible in every scenario. Its wording for a new-scenario exit is: “When you exit the current scenario and choose to play a new one, weapons, armor, materials, medicine, Deviations, and calibration blueprints will be transferred to Eternaland.”

- People are strange: we looked through the Internet and collected a load of totally-genuine, totally-weird web searches. So we decided to make a party game out of it.
- Think like a human: each round, you'll hear the first half of an internet search, like 'did dinosaurs...'. It's your job to try and figure out what came next
- Did dinosaurs go to heaven?: The higher your answers rank, the more points you'll score for you and your team - so don't be afraid to think a little weird.
- Easy to learn, quick to play: a party game for adults and teenagers, this one takes about 2 minutes to learn and 20 to play. Recommended for 3+ players and ages 14+.
- What people said: 'for once you'll be glad you didn't delete your internet history!' - @tabletopmag
A more detailed official developer explainer on seasons and scenarios names examples of retained data, including character name, cosmetics, friends, Battle Pass progress, task progress, weapon and armor blueprints and fragments, weapon accessories, mods, food recipes, house blueprints, and furniture formulas. It also identifies selected important materials such as Starchrom, Crystgins, Mitsuko’s Marks, and Silver Keys. Treat that 2024 detail as supporting context: the newer FAQ and the rules displayed in your current scenario take precedence.
How do Resource Inheritance Points and Eternaland work?
Leaving for another scenario does not automatically load every item from storage into the new world. Eligible inventory is sent to Eternaland, where you choose which qualifying items to transfer back and spend Resource Inheritance Points at item-specific costs. The current official term is “Resource Inheritance Points.” Do not rely on old item lists or assume a fixed transfer allowance: use the current in-game inheritance screen to see the eligible items and their costs.

Energy Links follow a separate transition rule: they convert to Astral Sand at a ratio not specified in the current FAQ. Do not plan around a remembered conversion figure; verify the current display in game.
Do these 3 things before closing this tab:
1Scan for outdated or missing drivers - takes under a minute2Clear out junk files and repair common Windows errors3Fix the driver behind crashes, sound loss and screen glitchesIf rebuilding matters, keep your house blueprint in mind: the developer explainer says house blueprints persist, but you still need building materials to rebuild in the next scenario.

What are your choices when a scenario ends?
| Choice | What happens | Key distinction |
|---|---|---|
| Stay on the current server | Continue there without losing progress or supplies, according to the current FAQ | You are not starting new scenario progression. |
| Sign up for a new scenario or server | Begin under the new scenario’s rules; eligible departing items go to Eternaland and selected items can be transferred using Resource Inheritance Points | Item selection and costs matter; signing up early for a permanent server can trigger a reset. |
| Exit to Eternaland | Pause outside a new scenario | You do not have to join a newly launched scenario right away. |
| Wait for a permanent-server merge | The completed scenario server rests for 14 days, then merges automatically into its corresponding permanent server, according to the 2026 FAQ | This end-of-scenario merge is different from signing up early. |
How does an early permanent-server signup differ from waiting?
The official July 17, 2025 permanent-server notice says signup follows normal server rules: if you sign up before the current scenario ends, your level and scenario resources—including gear and consumables—reset. It distinguishes that from waiting until the scenario ends, when progress can be preserved as the server merges into a permanent server. The newer FAQ says the completed scenario server enters a 14-day rest period before automatically merging into its matching permanent server.
Availability and the exact option offered can depend on your server. Check the in-game signup screen before committing; do not treat early signup and an end-of-scenario merge as interchangeable.
Quick Recap
How to prepare before leaving a scenario
- Open the current scenario’s sign-up or inheritance screen. Separate items marked for direct inheritance from those that require Resource Inheritance Points.
- Check item eligibility and point costs. Decide which stored equipment or materials will be useful in the destination scenario rather than assuming everything can transfer.
- Secure building plans if you intend to rebuild. Confirm your house blueprint is available, and plan to gather or transfer the building materials needed to recreate it.
- Choose the timing for a permanent server deliberately. Compare the screen’s early-signup option with waiting for the current scenario to end and merge.
- Pause if you are not ready. Eternaland is an available option; immediate signup for a new scenario is not required.
