Old School RuneScape creator Coxie has completed a fresh-account challenge to collect every one of the game’s 71 pets. The account took 3 years, 9 months and 23 days from creation, with 273 days and 20 hours—6,572 hours—recorded in game.
What Coxie completed
Coxie created a new Old School RuneScape account specifically to repeat an achievement he had already reached on an earlier account, Malfoy: obtaining the game’s full pet collection. Unlike a normal collection goal, the challenge started with an account that had no statistics, equipment, items or in-game currency.

The run was documented in a YouTube series that began in April 2023. Its final milestone was the 71st pet, Beef, which Coxie received after 565 kills of Brutus. Coxie announced the completion in a social-media post dated October 10, 2026, writing: “WORLD RECORD FASTEST ALL PETS COMPLETION,” followed by “#71 Beef – 565 kc,” “Time since creation: 3 years, 9 months, 23 days,” and “Time played: 273 days, 20 hours.”

| Measure | Coxie’s reported result |
|---|---|
| Pets collected | 71 |
| Calendar duration | 3 years, 9 months, 23 days |
| Recorded playtime | 273 days, 20 hours |
| Total hours | 6,572 |
| Final pet | Beef |
| Final pet’s Brutus kill count | 565 |
The two time figures describe different things. The calendar duration measures the period between account creation and completion; the 6,572-hour figure is the account’s accumulated in-game time. It therefore does not mean Coxie played continuously for almost four years.

Rules that made the account genuinely fresh
Coxie imposed restrictions to prevent the new account from simply inheriting progress from Malfoy or another established character.
- No money or equipment transferred from another account.
- No donations from other players.
- No borrowed items.
- Alternate accounts were permitted.
- Coxie could pay other players, but only with gold earned by the challenge account.
Those rules still allowed efficient planning and the use of Old School RuneScape’s wider player economy, while blocking the most direct forms of outside assistance. The distinction matters when comparing this run with other pet collections: “fresh account” does not necessarily mean every activity was completed in isolation.

Why collecting every OSRS pet is so demanding
Different sources and different skills
Pets are awarded through a mixture of boss encounters, minigames and skilling activities. A player must therefore build a broad account, unlock high-level content and repeatedly perform very different tasks rather than specialize in one activity.
Quick wins for a faster PC:
Clear out junk files and repair common Windows errorsFree Scan →Fix the driver behind crashes, sound loss and screen glitchesFind Drivers →Rare drops create unpredictable delays
Some pet rolls can be around 1 in 5,000. Even when a player is highly efficient, a rare drop can arrive early or require thousands of attempts. Coxie’s 565 Brutus kills for Beef illustrates that the final pet is governed by chance as well as execution.
Rank #3
The Inferno raises the mechanical bar
The Jal-Nib-Rek pet is listed at 1 in 100 Inferno completions. The Inferno is a demanding player-versus-environment challenge that only a small fraction of the game’s players can complete, so the collection requires both endurance and advanced combat ability.
Is this officially the fastest completion?
Dexerto and GamesRadar reported Coxie’s run as the fastest all-pets completion, and GamesRadar reported that Jagex verified the achievement and the account’s playtime. However, Dexerto also noted that Jagex had not formally acknowledged it as an official record. The careful description is therefore “reported as the fastest completion,” rather than a permanently sanctioned world record.
GamesRadar put the reported second-place all-pets run at 572 days, or 13,728 hours. That comparison should be read alongside each account’s rules, activity pattern and target pet list. Old School RuneScape can add new pets, which would increase the collection target and could require Coxie—or any current leader—to continue the run.

Coxie’s completion covers the 71 pets available when Beef became the final milestone. If Jagex introduces an additional pet, the account would no longer hold the complete collection under the expanded target unless the new pet were also obtained. That is why an all-pets “record” is inherently changeable: the finish time is fixed, but the definition of completion can move.
