Ola Electric postponed its October 5 board meeting on a proposed rights issue of up to ₹1,000 crore because it was waiting for in-principle approval from the stock exchanges. An October 6 update indicated that approval had arrived and the meeting was rescheduled for October 7, 2026. As of 03:50 UTC on October 7, no meeting outcome or final issue terms had been confirmed in the available announcements.
Why did Ola Electric defer the meeting?
The company said it was awaiting in-principle approval from the stock exchanges for its proposed rights issue. Its September 28 notice had set the board meeting for October 5 or for a later date after the required approval, whichever came later. The October 5 meeting was therefore deferred while approval was pending. Ola Electric’s exchange notice set out the conditional timing, while contemporaneous reporting attributed the deferral to the outstanding approval.

What is the proposed rights issue?
Ola Electric Mobility proposed a rights issue of partly paid-up equity shares with a face value of ₹10 each, for eligible equity shareholders. The reported maximum amount is ₹1,000 crore; that is the proposed ceiling, not confirmation that the company has raised that sum. Business Standard reported the September 28 board approval of the proposal.

A rights issue offers shares to eligible existing shareholders under specified terms. Eligibility and the opportunity to subscribe depend on the company’s final offer documents and announced dates; the proposal does not mean that the issue is open or that every shareholder can participate on identical terms.

Was the board meeting held, and what did it decide?
An October 6 update and filing index indicated that in-principle approval had been received and a board meeting was scheduled for October 7. The material available by 03:50 UTC that day establishes the scheduled meeting, not that it had taken place or approved final terms. The reported October 7 update is based on a filing index and a reproduced filing; direct access to the linked BSE PDF was unavailable, so the outcome should not be inferred from the schedule.
Which shareholder-facing details are still pending?
