The strongest reported October Prime Day laptop deals include $200 off select M5 MacBook Air configurations at Amazon and $200 off certain Dell XPS 13 configurations at Best Buy. The MacBook Air discount brings its listed price back to the level before Apple’s June 2026 price increase; the XPS offer is a separate retailer deal, not an Amazon offer. Prices below were reported on October 6, 2026, and may have changed.
October Prime Day laptop deals at a glance

Neither report establishes what a buyer will see at checkout now: stock, seller, eligibility, exact configurations, and current prices were not confirmed on live retailer pages.
MacBook Air: the reported $200 discount puts the price back before the hike
Macworld reported that Apple raised MacBook Air prices by $200 in the U.S. and £200 in the U.K. in June 2026. The October U.S. Amazon deals reported by MacRumors remove $200 from the listed prices for the 16GB/512GB configurations, bringing them back to their pre-increase listed levels. That is a meaningful offset to the increase, but it is not evidence of a price below the earlier baseline.

13-inch M5 MacBook Air
The 13-inch model with 16GB of memory and a 512GB SSD was reported at $1,099, reduced from $1,299. It is the smaller of the two Air sizes listed here, making it the more compact choice if portability matters more than screen area. MacRumors identifies the offer as an Amazon deal; verify the seller and configuration on the product page before buying.
15-inch M5 MacBook Air
The 15-inch model with the same reported 16GB/512GB configuration was listed at $1,299, down from $1,499. Its larger display offers more room than the 13-inch Air, while retaining the same reported memory and storage. The reported $200 cut likewise offsets the June list-price increase rather than beating the pre-increase price.

Dell XPS 13: a Windows alternative, but the offer is at Best Buy
AOB News reported that Best Buy had $200 off two Dell XPS 13 configurations with 512GB storage, with prices starting at $599.99. The report does not provide enough detail to identify each configuration’s processor, memory, or exact discounted price, so check those specifications carefully before comparing one with an Air. This is a Best Buy offer, not an Amazon deal.
Do these 3 things before closing this tab:
1Clear out junk files and repair common Windows errors2Fix the driver behind crashes, sound loss and screen glitches3Repair Windows errors before they cause bigger problemsThe cited XPS guide praises the laptop’s screen and design relative to the MacBook Neo and reports about 19 hours in its own video-rundown test, compared with just under 15 hours for the Neo. Those are the publisher’s results for an XPS-to-Neo comparison, not a direct test against the M5 MacBook Air. They cannot establish which of the XPS 13 and Air lasts longer or performs better.

How to choose between the Air, XPS 13, and other deals
- Choose by operating system first. The MacBook Air runs macOS; the XPS and the listed HP, Lenovo, and Dell alternatives are Windows laptops. Consider the apps and devices you already use before comparing discounts.
- Compare exact configurations, not just model names. The Air deals specify 16GB memory and 512GB SSD. The XPS report only confirms 512GB storage and leaves processor and memory details unclear. Check those details on the listing.
- Match screen size to how you work. The 13-inch Air is the smaller option; the 15-inch Air provides a larger display. The XPS listing’s cited guide discusses its screen quality against the MacBook Neo, not against either Air size.
- Judge the Air discount against the right baseline. The reported $200 reductions undo Apple’s June 2026 U.S. list-price increase for the specified configurations. They do not show a price lower than the prior baseline.
- Verify the deal at checkout. The reported MacBook Air offers are at Amazon, the XPS offer is at Best Buy, and the retailer for the other reported prices is not specified. Confirm current stock, the exact model, seller, eligibility, and final price before ordering.
