What to know about October’s gaming deals
Amazon calls the event Prime Big Deal Days; “October Prime Day” is a common shorthand. Amazon announced a two-day, Prime-member-exclusive event for October 6–7, 2026, spanning more than 35 categories. Its event page says new featured deals arrive three times daily. See Amazon’s event announcement and the event page for official details.

Switch 2: check compatibility before choosing an accessory
GamesRadar’s live Switch deals coverage listed a PDP Afterglow wireless controller, Belkin charging cases, a 512GB SanDisk microSD Express card, and a Nintendo Switch 2 camera among its Amazon examples. These are reported sale listings, not a promise that each item remains available at the same price. Check the product page for the exact model, compatibility, current price, and delivery terms. GamesRadar’s Switch deals page includes its deal commentary and product-specific tradeoffs.
Storage is a particularly precise fit for a Switch 2 shopping search: verify that a card is explicitly identified as microSD Express and compatible with Switch 2, rather than assuming any card that fits physically will meet the console’s requirements. For controllers, cases, and cameras, confirm the intended console generation and the functions or accessories included in the listing.

Bundles and earlier offers need a fresh price check
Before the event, Tom’s Guide reported a Nintendo Switch 2 Mario Kart World bundle at $549 and described that price as $37 less than buying the included items separately. That was an early-roundup snapshot, not proof of an active October 7 offer. Confirm the bundle’s contents and live price before comparing it with buying items individually. The same early coverage mentioned Xbox and 8BitDo controllers; availability and pricing can change. See Tom’s Guide’s early gaming deals guide for that pre-event context.

How to compare offers without being misled by a headline price
- Match the exact item. Check console generation, platform, game edition, and whether a game is physical or a game-key card. For accessories, confirm compatibility and what is included.
- Check the listing’s terms. Confirm the live price, stock, shipping, and whether the deal is actually eligible for Prime members. Amazon describes Prime Big Deal Days offers as Prime-member exclusive, but verify the specific listing rather than inferring its eligibility.
- Compare the delivered total. If considering another retailer, compare the final price and availability for the same item. GAMES.GG’s early-deal coverage reported offers at Amazon, Best Buy, and Walmart; that does not establish that a particular offer is still live at all three.
- Recheck before checkout. Sale prices can move during the event, and Amazon says featured deals are refreshed three times daily. Make your decision using the listing you can actually purchase, not an earlier roundup price.
For cross-retailer context, see GAMES.GG’s early gaming deals coverage. Compare current listings directly; a reported deal at one retailer is not evidence of matching stock or pricing elsewhere.
