1Repair Windows errors before they cause bigger problems2Fix the driver behind crashes, sound loss and screen glitches3Clear out junk files and repair common Windows errorsThese nine laptop offers are worth comparing if you’re shopping during Amazon’s October sale—but the prices below are a dated snapshot, not a live price check. Tom’s Guide reported them on October 6, 2026; confirm the current price, stock, seller and exact configuration before buying. The best fit depends on what you need the laptop to do, not just the size of its markdown.
What is the October Prime Day sale?
Amazon calls its October event Prime Big Deal Days. In the U.S., Amazon says the 2026 event runs from 12:01 a.m. PDT on October 6 until 11:59 p.m. PDT on October 7. Prime membership is required for event deals. Amazon lists U.S. standard membership at $14.99 per month or $139 per year; event dates may differ in other participating countries.
As an Amazon Associate I earn from qualifying purchases.
That means the deadline is October 7 in Pacific time—not necessarily the same local clock time for shoppers elsewhere. If you’re outside the U.S., check the event terms for your country rather than assuming the U.S. dates or membership conditions apply.

| Laptop | Tom’s Guide reported price (October 6, 2026) | Configuration and best fit | What to check |
|---|---|---|---|
| Acer Aspire Go 15 | $372, compared with $390 | Intel Core 3 N355, 8GB RAM, 15.6-inch FHD IPS screen and 128GB storage. A basic option for browsing, homework, email and streaming. | 128GB is limited for storing lots of files or applications; plan for cloud storage or another storage option if needed. |
| Lenovo IdeaPad Slim 3, 15-inch | $459, compared with $979 | 8GB RAM and 128GB SSD, with a 500GB portable hard drive bundled. A candidate for everyday student work. | The deal includes a separate drive, not an increase to the laptop’s built-in SSD. The roundup characterizes performance as limited. |
| HP OmniBook 3, 16-inch | $629, compared with $769 | 1920 × 1200 touchscreen, Windows 11 Pro, 8GB RAM, 512GB SSD and an included 8-in-1 hub. A large-screen choice for basic tasks. | The listed memory and processor class are modest for heavy workloads; check the live listing for the exact processor and hub bundle. |
| Dell 15 | $860, compared with $967 | 15.6-inch FHD touchscreen, 13th-generation Intel Core i5-1334U, 16GB RAM and 1TB SSD. A fit for common tasks such as video calls and document work. | Verify the current listing’s precise configuration and seller before comparing it with other Dell 15 models. |
| ASUS Vivobook 14 | $899, compared with $999 | Intel Core 5 120U and a stated 40GB RAM. The roundup’s 1.5TB storage figure includes a 1TB SSD and a 512GB Plusera docking set. | Do not treat the combined storage figure as built-in laptop storage. Confirm the RAM, SSD and included dock in the live listing. |
| Apple MacBook Neo | $689, compared with $699 | The roundup highlights aluminum construction, the display, A18 Pro performance and battery life. | The listed configuration lacks a backlit keyboard; Touch ID costs extra, according to the roundup. The markdown is small. |
| Apple MacBook Air, 13-inch M5 | $1,099, compared with $1,299 | The roundup highlights M5 performance, connectivity, display and battery life, and recommends it as an option for a broad range of users. | Check the live listing’s storage and memory configuration, as well as the seller and return terms. |
| Apple MacBook Pro, 14-inch M5 | $1,839, compared with $1,999 | The roundup describes a 14.2-inch display and a portable, high-performance design. | The source’s quick-link label says “M5/1TB,” while its description says the base model has a 512GB SSD. Resolve that mismatch on the product listing before purchase. |
| Apple MacBook Pro, 16-inch M5 Pro | $2,799, compared with $2,999 | The roundup describes a 16.2-inch Liquid Retina XDR display, ports and an M5 Pro chip. | Confirm the exact configuration associated with the 1TB listing and check that it suits your workload before paying for a Pro model. |
How to choose between these offers
For basic school, home and office tasks
The Acer Aspire Go 15 and Lenovo IdeaPad Slim 3 have the lowest reported prices in this group, but both have 8GB RAM and 128GB of built-in storage. The Lenovo’s bundled portable drive adds separate storage capacity; it does not change the laptop’s SSD. The Acer’s 15.6-inch FHD IPS screen is specified in the roundup, while the Lenovo’s headline offer depends partly on that drive bundle. Choose based on the exact configuration and how much local storage you need, not the displayed discount alone.
For a larger screen or more built-in storage
The HP OmniBook 3 pairs a 16-inch 1920 × 1200 touchscreen with a 512GB SSD, while the Dell 15 has a 1TB SSD and 16GB RAM. Those differences may matter more than the price gap if you keep files on the laptop or expect to run several applications at once. The HP’s included hub is an accessory, and the roundup describes its specifications as modest; the Dell’s listing specifies a 13th-generation Core i5-1334U. Neither description establishes suitability for demanding creative work.

- Intel Celeron N4120: 4 Cores & Threads, 1.1GHz Base Clock, Up to 2.6GHz Boost Clock, 4MB Cache, Intel UHD Graphics 600. The perfect combination of performance, power consumption, and value helps your device handle multitasking smoothly and reliably with four processing cores to divide up the work.
For a bundled memory or storage claim
Take extra care with the ASUS Vivobook 14. The roundup reports 40GB RAM but describes its 1.5TB total as a 1TB SSD plus a 512GB docking set. Verify exactly what is included and what is built into the computer. A large combined figure can obscure which parts are internal, portable or dependent on an accessory.

The MacBook Neo is the least expensive Apple offer in the roundup, but its reported price is only $10 below the comparison price, and the roundup notes the keyboard is not backlit and Touch ID costs extra. The 13-inch MacBook Air M5 is a more expensive all-rounder by the roundup’s assessment. The 14-inch and 16-inch MacBook Pro listings target buyers who need their respective display sizes and higher-end positioning; verify each listing carefully, especially the 14-inch model’s conflicting storage labels.

Check the listing before you buy
- Match the workload. For browsing, email and documents, prioritize a configuration that meets your everyday needs. For heavier work, don’t assume a low price or a large storage bundle means the processor and memory are sufficient.
- Compare built-in specifications. Check the processor, RAM, SSD capacity, screen size and resolution, operating system and any keyboard or security features you care about. Separate out accessories such as the Lenovo drive, HP hub or ASUS docking set.
- Confirm the exact product page. Similar model names can refer to different configurations. Read the selected options and bundle details on the listing, and resolve any mismatch between the offer label and description.
- Check the actual transaction terms. Confirm the current price, stock, seller and return terms on the retailer’s page. A roundup price from October 6 does not establish that the same offer is still available.
- Look at price history. Amazon says product detail pages can show up to 365 days of price history for hundreds of millions of products. Use that context to judge whether a displayed markdown is compelling; the comparison price alone does not establish a product’s typical selling price.
