Nintendo’s November 5 listing
Nintendo’s September 8, 2026 40th-anniversary announcement, US announcement, UK Direct page and Australian announcement all identify November 5, 2026 as the launch date. The Nintendo product page also states “Release date November 5, 2026.” Those are the primary sources to use when deciding when to order or schedule time to play.

Why November 14 appears in coverage
An October 15, 2026 article in EL PAÍS prints November 14 while discussing the remake and quoting Zelda author Salva Fernández. The article does not provide a Nintendo statement supporting that date. Because it conflicts with several Nintendo listings, November 14 should be treated as a secondary-reporting discrepancy—possibly an editorial or sourcing error—not as an alternative launch date of equal status.

What Nintendo says is new in the remake
Nintendo describes the project as “Remade with completely overhauled visuals, fully voiced cutscenes, expanded character dialogue, symphonic orchestral music, reworked camera and movement controls, and more,” in its September 8, 2026 announcement.
- Visuals: The presentation is being rebuilt rather than simply carried over unchanged.
- Story presentation: Cutscenes are fully voiced and character dialogue has been expanded.
- Music: Nintendo says the soundtrack uses symphonic orchestral music.
- Controls: Camera and movement controls have been reworked.
Nintendo has not published defensible sales figures, review scores or performance benchmarks for the unreleased game. Any claim about frame rate, resolution or comparative gameplay performance should therefore wait for an official specification or hands-on testing.

Platform and ownership choices
The official product page identifies the remake as a Nintendo Switch 2 exclusive. A Nintendo Switch or another older console is not listed as a supported platform in the announced material.

Nintendo UK lists the game at £49.99. That is a UK price for 2026 and should not be treated as a worldwide price; Nintendo has not established equivalent pricing for every region in the announced material.

What the 40th-anniversary hardware includes
Nintendo has announced related Zelda 40th-anniversary products: a Nintendo Switch 2 system, a Switch 2 Pro Controller and a carrying case with a screen protector. The Australian announcement says the anniversary console and accessories will be available before the game launches.
These are related hardware products, not proof of a game bundle. Unless a retailer explicitly lists the remake in the box contents, assume the console, controller and carrying case are sold separately from the game. Prices and availability can vary by country and retailer.

Stock and launch-night planning
- Use November 5 as your planning date. Check Nintendo’s product page and your regional Nintendo store if a listing changes.
- Choose digital or physical ownership. Digital avoids shipment and store-opening constraints; physical is the route to the textured foil packaging while first-print stock lasts.
- Check your region’s price. The confirmed £49.99 figure applies to Nintendo UK, not automatically to other markets.
- Verify hardware contents. Treat the anniversary Switch 2 system and accessories as separate purchases unless a specific retailer listing says otherwise.
- Watch local inventory. Retail reporting said Best Buy planned late-night openings for the November 5 launch with limited anniversary hardware stock. Store hours and quantities are retailer-specific and can change, so confirm directly with the store.
