OBS में prerecorded video को YouTube Live पर चलाते समय CPU load घटाने के लिए पहले Settings → Output → Streaming → Encoder में देखें कि x264 चुना है या आपके कंप्यूटर का compatible hardware encoder। उपलब्ध हो तो NVENC, AMD AMF, Intel QSV या Apple VideoToolbox आज़माएँ; फिर Auto-Configuration Wizard चलाएँ, test stream करें और जरूरत पर output resolution, FPS या scene complexity घटाएँ। सबसे अच्छा विकल्प आपके hardware और scene पर निर्भर करेगा—किसी एक setting से हर कंप्यूटर पर समान नतीजे की गारंटी नहीं है।
पहले समझें कि CPU usage क्यों बढ़ता है
OBS वीडियो को stream के लिए encode करता है और scene में मौजूद sources को compose भी करता है। अगर streaming encoder x264 है, तो encoding का काम CPU पर पड़ता है। दूसरी ओर, browser sources, overlays, filters और बड़े media files scene rendering पर अतिरिक्त भार डाल सकते हैं। इसलिए सिर्फ encoder बदलना हर बार पर्याप्त नहीं होता; encoding और scene दोनों की जाँच करें।

OBS के अनुसार hardware encoders encoding का काम CPU से हटाकर GPU के dedicated component पर ले जा सकते हैं। यह सामान्य सलाह है, हर मशीन पर बेहतर गुणवत्ता या performance की गारंटी नहीं। OBS यह भी बताता है कि शुरुआती hardware encoder पीढ़ियों की गुणवत्ता समान bitrate पर x264 के default veryfast से कम हो सकती थी, जबकि आधुनिक hardware encoders बेहतर हुए हैं। OBS Hardware Encoding guide में अपने OS और hardware के अनुरूप विकल्प देखें।
CPU load घटाने का क्रम
1. Streaming encoder जाँचें
- OBS में Settings → Output → Streaming → Encoder खोलें। यदि Output Mode के कारण विकल्प अलग दिखें, तो पहले Output Mode को Advanced करके देखें।
- अगर
x264चुना है और सूची में आपके सिस्टम के लिए compatible encoder उपलब्ध है, तो NVENC, AMD AMF, Intel QSV या Apple VideoToolbox में से विकल्प आज़माएँ। उपलब्ध नाम operating system, GPU/CPU, driver और OBS build के अनुसार बदल सकते हैं। - एक ही video और scene के साथ छोटा test करें। CPU के साथ OBS की performance statistics और stream की दृश्य गुणवत्ता भी देखें। एक समय में एक setting बदलें, ताकि पता चले किस बदलाव से फर्क पड़ा।
सिर्फ encoding के लिए नया GPU खरीदने से पहले अपने मौजूदा hardware में encoder की उपलब्धता जाँचें। OBS की प्रकाशित compatibility guidance में Windows/Linux पर NVENC के लिए GeForce 750 Ti, 900-series (Maxwell) या नया hardware बताया गया है और बेहतर परिणाम के लिए Turing या नया encoder सुझाया गया है। AMD AMF के लिए compatible GPU और Intel QSV के लिए Intel HD Graphics वाले Core i-series 2xxx या नए की शर्तें दी गई हैं। Mac पर VideoToolbox उपलब्धता Mac के प्रकार पर निर्भर करती है। ये OBS guide की प्रकाशित जानकारी है; खरीद या upgrade से पहले निर्माता और मौजूदा driver compatibility की पुष्टि करें। OBS की hardware encoder compatibility जानकारी

2. Auto-Configuration Wizard चलाएँ
Tools → Auto-Configuration Wizard खोलकर wizard के प्रश्नों का उत्तर दें। यह इच्छित उपयोग, उपलब्ध hardware और network conditions के आधार पर OBS सेटअप सुझाता है; नतीजे को अंतिम मानने के बजाय अपनी वास्तविक scene और video के साथ test करें। शुरुआत के लिए OBS का Quick Start Guide भी देखें।
3. Output resolution और FPS कम करके देखें
अगर encoder overload हो रहा है, तो Settings → Video में Output (Scaled) Resolution और Common FPS Values की जाँच करें। Output resolution घटाने से encode होने वाले pixels कम होते हैं; FPS घटाने से प्रति सेकंड संसाधित frames कम होते हैं। यदि 60 FPS स्थिर नहीं है, तो 30 FPS आज़माएँ। इससे motion कम smooth हो सकता है और resolution घटाने से चित्र कम स्पष्ट दिख सकता है—लक्ष्य यह है कि उपलब्ध CPU/GPU पर स्थिर stream मिले और गुणवत्ता स्वीकार्य रहे। OBS के अनुसार 60 FPS, 30 FPS से अधिक system resources माँग सकता है। Encoding Performance Troubleshooting और OBS Studio Overview

4. Scene और sources हल्के करें
- जो browser sources, overlays या filters stream में जरूरी नहीं हैं, उन्हें हटाकर या बंद करके test करें। जटिल animated overlays और browser sources performance पर असर डाल सकते हैं।
- छिपे हुए sources को भी जाँचें: OBS के अनुसार scene में दिखने वाले हर source को कुछ resources चाहिए, और छिपे sources भी संसाधन ले सकते हैं।
- यदि source video output resolution से बहुत बड़ा है और अतिरिक्त detail की जरूरत नहीं, तो कम-resolution media से test करें।
- प्रत्येक बदलाव के बाद वही test scene फिर चलाएँ; एक साथ कई बदलाव करने पर कारण पहचानना कठिन होगा।

Streaming के साथ recording करने पर recording encoder और quality भी resources ले सकते हैं। OBS के अनुसार Same as stream के अलावा recording quality चुनने पर अतिरिक्त संसाधन लगते हैं। Lossless को CPU बचाने के उपाय की तरह न चुनें: OBS Project की 2023 guide में इसका अनुमानित file size लगभग 7 GB प्रति मिनट बताया गया है; यह file-size संदर्भ है, CPU परिणाम का benchmark नहीं। जरूरत के अनुसार recording encoder और quality अलग से जाँचें। Standard Recording Output Guide · Recording Encoder Presets Guide

क्या hardware encoder हमेशा सही चुनाव है?
नहीं। Hardware encoder CPU का encoding भार घटा सकता है, लेकिन उससे GPU के दूसरे काम, जैसे scene rendering, पर दबाव हो सकता है। फैसला अपने OS और hardware compatibility, CPU load, output quality, GPU पर अन्य काम और लक्ष्य resolution/FPS के आधार पर करें। अगर encoder बदलने के बाद rendering या stream स्थिरता बिगड़ती है, तो पिछली setting पर लौटकर resolution/FPS या sources को अलग-अलग समायोजित करें।

समस्या बनी रहे तो क्या जाँचें
- CPU ऊँचा है और encoder x264 है: compatible hardware encoder उपलब्ध है या नहीं देखें, फिर उसी scene के साथ test करें।
- Encoder बदलने पर भी overload है: output resolution या FPS घटाकर देखें; साथ ही अनावश्यक sources, browser overlays और filters हटाकर जाँचें।
- चित्र की गुणवत्ता या motion स्वीकार्य नहीं: पिछली resolution/FPS पर लौटें और scene को हल्का करने या encoder विकल्पों की तुलना करने का अलग test करें। कम resolution और FPS का trade-off स्पष्ट रूप से देखें।
- Stream के साथ recording पर दिक्कत आती है: recording quality और encoder जाँचें; Lossless चुनने से बचें यदि उद्देश्य CPU या storage load घटाना है।
- समस्या का कारण स्पष्ट नहीं: OBS के overload लक्षणों के अनुसार troubleshooting देखें। Exact encoder या preset चुनने के लिए OS, CPU/GPU, OBS version, चुना encoder, source video resolution, target output और concurrent recording की जानकारी जरूरी है।
