After an Airtel router reboot, first wait for the router and internet connection to come back, then check OBS and YouTube Live Control Room. If OBS has not resumed sending, reconnect or restart its stream using your existing YouTube stream settings. A router reboot does not, by itself, mean your stream key has changed, and automatic recovery is not guaranteed in every setup.
Recover the stream after the router restarts
- Wait for the router to finish rebooting. Check that your computer can access the internet. Until the connection is back, OBS cannot reach YouTube’s ingest server. Airtel router models and broadband services can differ, so there is no single reliable reboot time or indicator for every setup.
- Check OBS. Look at its connection status and dropped-frame counter. OBS identifies dropped frames and intermittent disconnections as signs of a problem between your computer and the remote ingest server. If you need more detail, review the OBS log for connection errors. See the OBS connection troubleshooting guide.
- Check YouTube Live Control Room. Look at the stream-health status and any error messages to see whether YouTube is receiving the encoder feed. YouTube explains where to view live-stream metrics in See your live stream’s metrics.
- If internet works but OBS remains disconnected, reconnect the encoder. Start or restart the stream from OBS using the existing YouTube stream URL and key. YouTube’s encoder workflow uses those settings to send a feed; see Create a YouTube live stream with an encoder. Confirm in Live Control Room that YouTube is receiving the stream before assuming the broadcast is healthy.
- Change the stream key only if there is a key-related reason. A network interruption alone is not evidence that the key changed. Reset or replace it if it may be compromised or YouTube or OBS reports a key-related setup error. YouTube describes stream-key settings in Manage live stream settings and troubleshooting in Troubleshoot your YouTube live stream.
Diagnose what is still broken
Separate the problem into three links: the computer’s connection to the router, the router’s connection to Airtel’s internet service, and OBS’s connection to YouTube. The next step depends on which link has not recovered.

The computer still has no internet
OBS cannot send a feed until internet access returns. Check the router’s service or status indicators and your computer’s connection. If service does not return, contact Airtel for instructions specific to your router model and broadband type. A reboot does not establish that the router’s public IP changed or that YouTube credentials need replacing.
Internet works, but OBS shows drops or disconnects
OBS says drops can occur when the connection to the ingest server is unstable or cannot sustain the configured bitrate; enough dropped frames can disconnect the stream. Its troubleshooting guide recommends checking bitrate against stable upload capacity and reviewing network settings. Keep the default Bind to IP setting unless you have a reason to diagnose it; IPv4-only is a diagnostic option, not a general fix. Dynamic bitrate can reduce drops by lowering quality, but it does not repair the underlying connection.

OBS appears connected, but YouTube reports a problem
Use the message and stream-health information in Live Control Room to distinguish an encoder connection issue from another stream problem. YouTube notes that network disruption can break a live stream; its streaming tips recommend leaving upload capacity available rather than using all measured bandwidth. YouTube’s guidance is to leave 20% upload headroom, and to account for primary and backup streams if both are running. A speed-test result is not a guarantee of sustained upload capacity during a broadcast.
OBS reports a stream-key error
Check the stream URL and key configured for the encoder against the current settings in YouTube Live Control Room. Correct a mismatch or reset the key if it is compromised; do not rotate it merely because the router rebooted.

- DUAL-BAND WIFI 6 ROUTER: Wi-Fi 6(802.11ax) technology achieves faster speeds, greater capacity and reduced network congestion compared to the previous gen. All WiFi routers require a separate modem. Dual-Band WiFi routers do not support the 6 GHz band.
- AX1800: Enjoy smoother and more stable streaming, gaming, downloading with 1.8 Gbps total bandwidth (up to 1200 Mbps on 5 GHz and up to 574 Mbps on 2.4 GHz). Performance varies by conditions, distance to devices, and obstacles such as walls.
- CONNECT MORE DEVICES: Wi-Fi 6 technology communicates more data to more devices simultaneously using revolutionary OFDMA technology
- EXTENSIVE COVERAGE: Achieve the strong, reliable WiFi coverage with Archer AX1800 as it focuses signal strength to your devices far away using Beamforming technology, 4 high-gain antennas and an advanced front-end module (FEM) chipset
- OUR CYBERSECURITY COMMITMENT: TP-Link is a signatory of the U.S. Cybersecurity and Infrastructure Security Agency’s (CISA) Secure-by-Design pledge. This device is designed, built, and maintained, with advanced security as a core requirement.
Reduce the chance of another interruption
- Prefer Ethernet between the computer and router. OBS warns that Wi-Fi may be unstable for streaming. An Ethernet cable can improve this local connection, but it cannot restore an Airtel service outage or shorten a router’s unfinished reboot.
- Set bitrate with sustained capacity in mind. Use a bitrate your connection can hold and leave the upload headroom YouTube recommends. Do not treat a brief speed test as a promise of steady bandwidth.
- Check other sources of network instability. OBS lists VPNs, security software, network-priority utilities, outdated network drivers, router or modem connectivity, Wi-Fi instability, and faulty network hardware among possible factors. If the problem persists after checking these, contact your ISP.
- Plan failover separately from reconnection. YouTube recommends testing backup-encoder failover by stopping the primary encoder or disconnecting its Ethernet connection. A backup encoder is a resilience design, not a fix for an Airtel connection that has not returned. See YouTube’s streaming tips.
Or let it run in the cloud
For uploaded videos or a playlist that should keep a YouTube channel live, StreamNeo runs the stream in the cloud, so your computer and home connection do not have to stay on. Upload a recording or build a playlist, add your YouTube stream key once, and go live. It plays uploaded videos rather than broadcasting from a camera, and streams to YouTube.
- Any quality up to 4K 60fps as uploaded, at one flat price per slot.
- Automatic recovery if YouTube drops the stream.
- The first day is free with no card required; one free day per account.
