पहले voice और music के स्रोत अलग रखें
माइक्रोफोन से narration और जिस application या media source से music आता है, उन्हें OBS में अलग sources के रूप में रखें। इससे आप दोनों के स्तर अलग-अलग बदल सकते हैं और ducking में microphone को music के लिए trigger बना सकते हैं। OBS के अनुसार microphone अक्सर computer-generated audio से स्वाभाविक रूप से quieter होता है। इसलिए केवल दोनों faders की संख्याओं की तुलना करके संतुलन तय न करें। OBS Audio Mixer guide

OBS mixer में शुरुआती balance बनाएं
- स्रोतों के अपने स्तर जाँचें। Microphone device और music-playing application का volume देखें। बहुत कम या बहुत अधिक input को केवल OBS fader से ठीक करने की कोशिश न करें; OS/application level और OBS source level भी सुनाई देने वाले परिणाम को प्रभावित करते हैं।
- कहानी बोलते हुए meter देखें। OBS mixer में narration को upper yellow range की ओर और background music को green range में रखने से शुरुआत करें। ये शुरुआती संकेत हैं, अनिवार्य loudness targets नहीं।
- सुनकर faders समायोजित करें। कहानी का सामान्य हिस्सा बोलें और music के ऊपर शब्द कितने साफ़ सुनाई देते हैं, यह जाँचें। Meter clipping से बचने में मदद करता है, लेकिन अंतिम निर्णय सुनने से करें।

अगर आप चाहते हैं कि narration शुरू होते ही music नीचे जाए और बोलना रुकने पर लौटे, तो OBS compressor की sidechain/ducking व्यवस्था इस्तेमाल करें। Compressor music source पर लगता है; microphone उसका trigger होता है।

Test recording से balance पक्का करें
- OBS में Audio Monitoring के जरिए sources सुनें; वैकल्पिक monitoring headphones से सुनना भी उपयोगी हो सकता है।
- सामान्य कहानी-पाठ, music के नीचे narration, और बोलने के बीच के विराम वाली recording बनाएं।
- Recording को शुरू से सुनें। देखें कि शब्द साफ़ हैं, music बहुत आगे तो नहीं आता, और narration रुकने पर music का लौटना अप्राकृतिक तो नहीं लगता।
- जरूरत के अनुसार source level, OS/application volume या OBS fader में बदलाव करें; फिर नई recording सुनें।
सिर्फ meter पर भरोसा न करें: OBS के अनुसार source, OS/application और OBS fader—तीनों जगह volume बदल सकता है। Limiter clipping रोकने के लिए उपलब्ध filter है, लेकिन उसे खराब gain setup का विकल्प न मानें। OBS Filters guide

लंबे live session से पहले जाँचें
- कहानी के अलग-अलग हिस्सों में आवाज़ और music सुनें; केवल एक वाक्य का test पर्याप्त नहीं।
- 0 dBFS सीमा से ऊपर जाने वाले peaks और सुनाई देने वाली distortion पर ध्यान दें।
- अगर ducking बहुत तेज़ या बहुत धीमी लगे, तो compressor की settings सुनकर समायोजित करें और फिर recording बनाएं।
- Hindi narration के लिए कोई विशिष्ट EQ या loudness target OBS के इन निर्देशों से स्थापित नहीं होता; बिना अपने सुनने और परीक्षण के कोई निश्चित target न मानें।
