Nvidia Stock Nears a Record as AI Supplier Foxconn Signals Demand

NVIDIA’s latest results show rapid growth in its AI infrastructure business, while supplier Foxconn’s reported performance offers a separate, indirect signal of demand. NVIDIA reported $96.2 billion in fiscal second-quarter 2027 revenue, up 106% year over year; Foxconn’s revenue is not NVIDIA revenue, and the available reporting does not establish the figure behind the supplier headline.

Which supplier is the headline referring to?

It is Foxconn. Barron’s describes the company as NVIDIA’s artificial-intelligence server partner and interprets Foxconn’s results as a sign NVIDIA may have momentum. The accessible Barron’s page does not provide the revenue figure or comparison period behind that interpretation, so it cannot establish how much Foxconn’s revenue increased or quantify the effect on NVIDIA. Supplier performance can offer context about activity across the AI-server supply chain, but it is not proof of NVIDIA orders, shipments, recognized revenue, or profit. The stronger evidence for NVIDIA’s own performance is the company’s reported financial results.

What did NVIDIA report?

For fiscal Q2 2027, the quarter ended July 26, 2026, NVIDIA reported $96.221 billion in total revenue, up 106% from the same quarter a year earlier and 18% sequentially. Data Center revenue was $89.0 billion, up 117% year over year and 18% sequentially. The figures were reported on August 26, 2026. NVIDIA’s earnings release

  • OC mode: 2632 MHz (OC mode)/ 2602 MHz (Default mode)
  • Powered by the NVIDIA Blackwell architecture and DLSS 4
  • Axial-tech fan design features a smaller fan hub that facilitates longer blades and a barrier ring that increases downward air pressure
  • A 2.5-slot design maximizes compatibility and cooling efficiency for superior performance in small chassis

Data Center is the central segment for understanding NVIDIA’s AI infrastructure business: it accounted for nearly all of the reported quarter’s revenue. NVIDIA also reported GAAP gross margin of 75.0%, net income of $59.688 billion, and diluted GAAP earnings per share of $2.46. These figures describe that quarter; they are not forecasts of future margins or earnings.

What is the outlook for NVIDIA’s next quarter?

NVIDIA’s fiscal Q3 2027 revenue outlook was $108.0 billion, plus or minus 2%, issued on August 26, 2026. Management said the outlook assumed no Data Center compute revenue from China. It is guidance, not a result already delivered, and therefore the next near-term test of whether demand converts into recognized revenue. NVIDIA’s earnings release

What do NVIDIA’s supply commitments say—and not say?

NVIDIA’s fiscal Q2 2027 SEC filing put its supply and capacity commitments at $279 billion as of July 26, 2026, compared with $119 billion in the previous quarter. The company said the commitments were primarily related to memory and manufacturing facilities for data-center infrastructure systems. They indicate substantial commitments to securing capacity, but do not guarantee that products will be delivered, customers will deploy systems on schedule, or the commitments will translate into revenue. The filing also identifies factors that could interrupt the path from demand to sales, including inaccurate demand estimates, production complexity, supply constraints, quality issues, lower yields, and higher costs. Customer infrastructure and financing matter too: delays or shortages involving land, power, data-center shells, or capital can postpone deployments and affect future revenue.

What does the record-high stock headline establish?

The available sources establish NVIDIA’s strong reported quarterly growth and its next-quarter outlook, but they do not independently verify the October 5, 2026 closing share price or the record-high benchmark. No exact closing price, percentage gain, or market capitalization can be confirmed from those sources. The stock-market wording should therefore be read as headline framing, not as a verified price measurement here.

How to read the signals together

  • Company results: NVIDIA’s reported revenue and Data Center growth show what the company recognized in fiscal Q2 2027.
  • Supplier signal: Foxconn’s results may provide context on AI-server activity, but the available coverage does not expose the relevant revenue figure or comparison.
  • Forward test: NVIDIA’s $108.0 billion fiscal Q3 outlook is management guidance; subsequent reported results would show whether it was achieved.
  • Execution risk: NVIDIA’s own filing describes supply, infrastructure, and customer-funding constraints that can limit or delay conversion of demand into revenue.

NVIDIA CEO Jensen Huang characterized the market this way: “AI has reached its inflection point. It’s doing useful work. Its tokens are productive and profitable. Now, compute is revenue.” He also said, “And demand is accelerating.” These are management’s assessments, not independent measurements of demand. NVIDIA’s earnings release
