Japanese retail listings show the RTX 5060 Ti 16GB selling for $881 to $1,292, versus its reported $530 launch price. That represents a 66% to 144% increase, although the $1,292 figure is a single Tokyo listing rather than a national street price. The RTX 5080 is listed at $1,864 to $2,444, compared with a reported $1,260 launch price.
A broader sample from Tom’s Hardware puts the Japanese average at ¥168,666.67 (approximately $1,099.67) for the RTX 5060 Ti 16GB and ¥330,514.43 (approximately $2,154.87) for the RTX 5080. Those averages better describe the observed market than the most expensive individual listings.

What the Japanese listings show
Wccftech’s 2026 report found RTX 5060 Ti 16GB listings between $881 and $1,292 in Tokyo. The upper end came from a reported 205,000-yen listing, so it should be read as the top of a sampled range, not as the price every Japanese buyer pays.
| GPU | Reported launch price | Japanese listing range | Change versus launch |
|---|---|---|---|
| RTX 5060 Ti 16GB | $530 | $881–$1,292 | 66%–144% higher |
| RTX 5080 | $1,260 | $1,864–$2,444 | Approximately 48%–94% higher |
The RTX 5080 range is also based on reported listings, not a nationwide average. Currency conversions are approximate snapshots, and the dollar values can move when exchange rates change.

How high is the typical Japanese price?
Tom’s Hardware sampled Japanese listings and calculated an average of ¥168,666.67 (approximately $1,099.67) for the RTX 5060 Ti 16GB. That average was 25.19% above its US pre-tax comparison. The same sampling put the RTX 5080 at ¥330,514.43 (approximately $2,154.87).
One table entry illustrates how a specific board can differ from the market average: the ASUS Dual RTX 5060 Ti 16GB was listed at ¥159,800 (approximately $1,041.86) in Japan, compared with $839.99 before tax in the United States. The model, seller, tax treatment, warranty and shipping terms all affect a direct comparison.

Is the price increase real?
Yes, the evidence shows a substantial increase in observed Japanese asking prices, but the size of the increase depends on which listing or average you use. The 144% headline figure compares the $1,292 Tokyo listing with the $530 launch price. Tom’s Hardware’s $1,099.67 sampled average is a more useful indicator of the market level and still sits well above the launch figure.
The US market has also moved. Tom’s Hardware reported that the US Newegg median for the RTX 5060 Ti 16GB rose from $569.99 in June 2026 to $804.99 in August 2026, a 39% increase. Its RTX 5080 median rose 3% over the same period. Japanese buyers therefore face both a local price premium and broader movement in US retail prices.

Why Japanese prices differ from US prices
- Individual listings: The highest numbers are single offers, not an official nationwide price.
- Board-partner premiums: Factory-overclocked, quieter or more heavily cooled cards can cost more than a basic design, even when they use the same GPU.
- Currency conversion: Dollar conversions in the reports are snapshots. A changing yen-dollar rate changes the displayed US equivalent without changing the yen sticker price.
- Tax treatment: The cited US comparison is pre-tax, while Japanese shelf prices may include local consumption tax. That makes the headline dollar gap larger or smaller depending on how the buyer calculates it.
- Seller terms: Warranty coverage, shipping, returns and remaining stock can materially change the effective cost.
RTX 5060 Ti 16GB versus RTX 5080
Both cards belong to NVIDIA’s Blackwell GeForce RTX 50-series and support DLSS, neural rendering, fifth-generation Tensor cores and fourth-generation ray-tracing cores. The 5080 is the higher performance tier, while the 5060 Ti targets a lower price and power class. This evidence set does not include independent benchmark results, so the table describes positioning and buying implications rather than measured frame rates.
| Factor | RTX 5060 Ti 16GB | RTX 5080 |

Should you buy an RTX 5060 Ti 16GB now?
Buy now when
- You need a replacement immediately and can find a card near the ¥168,666.67 sampled average rather than the ¥205,000 outlier.
- Your workload benefits from 16GB of VRAM and you have confirmed the exact model’s power, connector and case-clearance requirements.
- The seller provides acceptable warranty, return and shipping terms, and the final tax-inclusive total is known.
Wait when
- The only available offers are close to $1,292 or otherwise far above the sampled Japanese average.
- You are comparing against a US pre-tax price without accounting for Japanese tax, warranty and delivery costs.
- You can use your current card while watching several retailers, because the reported figures are volatile listings rather than fixed MSRP.
Consider the RTX 5080 instead when
Choose the 5080 only if its higher performance tier addresses a real resolution, ray-tracing or creative-workload requirement. At Tom’s Hardware’s sampled averages, it costs about ¥161,847 more than the 5060 Ti 16GB, so paying the difference solely for a model number is difficult to justify without that need.
Rank #4
- Axial-tech fans now feature a smaller fan hub that facilitates longer blades and a barrier ring that increases downward air pressure
- 2.5-slot design allows for greater build compatibility while maintaining cooling performance
- 0dB technology lets you enjoy light gaming in relative silence
- Dual BIOS switch lets you toggle between Quiet and Performance BIOS profiles
- Dual ball fan bearings last up to twice as long as sleeve bearing designs
What to check before placing an order
- Record the yen price and calculate the complete total, including consumption tax, shipping and any payment fees.
- Verify the exact board partner and model; cooler design and factory settings can explain large differences between listings.
- Check power-supply guidance, connectors, card length and thickness against your case and PSU.
- Confirm whether the warranty is handled in Japan and whether returns cover compatibility or only defects.
- Compare at least several sellers, since a single high Tokyo listing should not define your reference price.
What NVIDIA says about the RTX 50-series
NVIDIA’s GeForce RTX 50-series product page describes RTX in Japanese as: “RTX はパストレーシングとニューラルレンダリングのための先進的なプラットフォームであり、これまでゲームの遊び方やクリエイティブ活動に革命をもたらしてきました。” The company highlights the Blackwell platform’s DLSS, neural-rendering features, fifth-generation Tensor cores and fourth-generation ray-tracing cores. These capabilities are shared platform features; they do not eliminate the price and performance differences between the 5060 Ti and 5080.
