Published January 30, 2025, it says an upgraded Frame Generation AI model boosts performance and reduces VRAM use on GeForce RTX 50 and RTX 40 series GPUs. What is still unknown
The cited DLSS 5 announcement does not specify supported GPU generations, minimum hardware requirements, exact performance or memory changes, or individual game release dates. It does not explain how much VRAM DLSS 5 will use in a particular game, or how its performance compares with another rendering mode. Those details remain unanswered until NVIDIA publishes technical specifications or independent tests measure the feature.
That means the announcement alone is not enough to determine whether a particular PC can run DLSS 5 or what performance change to expect.
