Short answer: Australia-specific compatibility, shipping, and support for the Novawave indoor TV antenna are not verified by the available evidence. The product is marketed as a general indoor antenna, but its advertised performance has not been independently tested in an Australian home or against Australian broadcast services.
That distinction matters. An antenna can receive only the broadcast signals that reach its location, and results depend heavily on transmitter distance, obstructions, frequency, and placement. Treat Novawave’s advertised range and HD claims as seller statements rather than a promise that it will work in every Australian suburb.

What Novawave is supposed to do
Novawave is sold as a flat indoor television antenna. The advertised setup is straightforward: attach the antenna to a wall or window, connect its included coaxial cable to a television, and run the TV’s channel scan. It is intended for free-to-air broadcast reception, not as a replacement for a paid television or streaming subscription.
The seller promotes “TV-Reamping Technology,” HD-signal support and a 30-mile range. Those are marketing claims on the product page, not results from an independent laboratory or an Australian field trial. A nominal range cannot be converted into a guaranteed radius because broadcast power, terrain, building materials, antenna orientation and local interference all change the signal a particular television receives.

How an indoor antenna receives channels
The antenna does not create television channels or supply internet access. It picks up radio-frequency broadcasts already transmitted in the area, passes them through the coaxial connection, and lets the television’s tuner identify usable services during a scan. If a signal is too weak, blocked or outside the antenna’s practical reception conditions, scanning again will not manufacture a reliable channel.
The seller’s own disclaimer says reception depends on local broadcasts, distance from transmitters, broadcast frequency, surrounding landscape and geographical obstructions. It also says results vary. That qualification applies to any location, including Australia.
So, does Novawave work in Australia?
There is no evidence establishing an unconditional yes or no. The reviewed seller pages do not verify Australian shipping, local customer support, Australian-market tuning specifications or performance against Australian broadcast services. They describe the device generally, without identifying an Australian test location or a measured result for a named city.

Accordingly, the defensible conclusion is “not verified for Australia.” That does not prove the antenna cannot receive Australian broadcasts. It means a buyer cannot rely on the available product material as proof that it will do so, or that the seller will provide Australian delivery and after-sales assistance.
Compatibility is different from availability
A television antenna’s basic coaxial connection may appear familiar in many markets, but physical connection alone does not establish that a product has been tuned, supplied or supported for a country’s broadcast environment. Availability is a separate question: the seller pages reviewed do not establish Australian stock, delivery terms, warranty handling or a local support channel.
Before paying, ask the seller in writing whether the exact model can be delivered to your postcode, what return process applies in Australia, who pays return shipping, and whether support is provided in your time zone. Keep the answer and the order terms. If those details are not supplied clearly, the purchase carries more uncertainty than a locally distributed antenna with explicit Australian returns.

What determines reception in an Australian home
Even when an antenna is technically capable of receiving a broadcast, indoor performance is highly location-specific. The important variables are practical rather than the product name.
Recommended Free Tools
Distance and direction to transmitters
A home farther from a broadcast transmitter generally receives a weaker signal than a nearby home, although terrain and transmitter power can make two addresses behave differently. The seller recommends checking nearby towers and available channels before buying. Use a reliable local coverage or transmitter-information service for your area, then consider whether the antenna can be placed on the side of the home facing the likely signal source.
Walls, windows and building materials
Brick, concrete, foil-backed insulation, metal screens, appliances and reinforced structures can attenuate or reflect broadcast signals. A window position may perform better than an interior wall, but there is no universal best location. Moving the antenna by a small distance can change reception because indoor signals may arrive through multiple reflected paths.

Frequency and local broadcast lineup
Different services use different frequencies, and the channels available in one region are not necessarily identical to those in another. The seller’s “HD” wording indicates a claimed ability to receive HD broadcasts; it does not guarantee that every local service will be found or remain stable. The television’s tuner and the broadcasts available at your address still determine the result.
Indoor versus outdoor placement
The product FAQ describes Novawave as for indoor use and not weatherproof. Do not install it outdoors, on an exposed roof, or where rain and condensation can reach the antenna. An outdoor-rated antenna may be a more appropriate category when indoor signals are blocked, but that is a category decision, not evidence that Novawave fails or succeeds in a particular Australian property.

- Choose a starting position. Place the flat antenna high on an interior wall or near a window, away from large metal objects and other electronics. Do not expose it to weather.
- Connect the cable. Attach the supplied coaxial cable to the antenna and the television’s antenna/RF input. Tighten the connector by hand so it is seated, but do not force it.
- Open the television’s tuner menu. Select the input or setup path that starts an antenna, terrestrial or broadcast channel scan. The exact label varies by television model.
- Run an automatic scan. Select the antenna or air mode rather than cable mode when the television asks which source to scan. Let the scan finish before judging the result.
- Record what you receive. Note which channels are present and whether picture or sound breaks up. A channel that appears in the list but repeatedly freezes is not a reliable reception result.
- Reposition and rescan. Move the antenna to another window or a higher position, rotate or flatten it differently, and repeat the scan. The seller specifically recommends rescanning after moving the antenna.
- Test at different times. If reception changes, record the conditions. Interference and signal reflections can vary, and one successful scan does not prove stable service throughout the day.
Do not connect the antenna to a router or expect an internet connection to improve it. The seller says internet access is not required. It also says each television needs its own antenna, so one unit should not be assumed to serve multiple sets without additional equipment that the reviewed material does not specify.

How much weight should reviews receive?
An Australian-facing Trustpilot page displayed a 1.8 TrustScore from 118 reviews when accessed. Trust scores and review totals can change, and user-submitted accounts are affected by selection bias and platform moderation. Some accounts describe poor reception or customer-service problems, while testimonials hosted by the seller are positive. Neither group is a controlled test of typical Australian performance.
The seller also says its testimonials are not illustrative or typical. Use reviews to identify questions worth asking—such as delivery delays, refunds or support responsiveness—not to estimate the number of channels your home will receive.

Verify the transaction
- Confirm that the exact Novawave model ships to your Australian postcode.
- Ask for the delivery price, taxes or import charges, estimated delivery window and return address.
- Check whether a failed reception test qualifies for a refund and who pays return postage.
- Obtain warranty terms that identify the responsible seller and the period of coverage.
Verify the signal conditions
- Check which free-to-air broadcasters are predicted at your address.
- Identify the approximate transmitter direction and whether your home has a clear window-side placement.
- Consider brick, concrete, metal cladding, hills and nearby electrical interference.
- Decide whether an indoor antenna is realistic before treating the advertised range as relevant.
Compare the category, not the headline number
| Comparison factor | Questions to ask |
|---|---|
| Coverage evidence | Is there a measured result for an address or region similar to yours, or only a claimed distance? |
| Placement flexibility | Can the antenna be positioned near a window, rotated and secured without blocking the television? |
| Indoor/outdoor suitability | Is the unit weatherproof and rated for outdoor mounting, or explicitly indoor-only? |
| Television connection | Does the package include the correct coaxial lead and does your television have an antenna input? |
| Australian returns | Can you return it locally if reception is unusable, and what costs apply? |
No independent comparative test in the reviewed material shows Novawave outperforming another antenna. A product with clearer Australian delivery and return terms may therefore reduce purchase risk even if its advertised range sounds less impressive.
If the first scan finds few or no channels
- Check that the television is set to antenna or air mode, not cable mode.
- Reseat both coaxial connections and inspect the cable for kinks or visible damage.
- Move the antenna higher or closer to a window, then run a fresh scan.
- Try another orientation and remove nearby metal objects or powered electronics.
- Check local transmitter and coverage information to determine whether usable broadcasts are expected at your address.
- If reception remains unstable, request a return under the seller’s written policy rather than assuming a stronger scan or internet connection will solve a signal problem.
Bottom line for Australia
Novawave is presented as a conventional indoor TV antenna, and its basic installation is clear. However, the available material does not verify Australian availability, support or broadcast compatibility, and the 30-mile, HD and TV-Reamping claims are not Australian independent test results. Buy only after confirming delivery and return terms and checking the signal conditions at your address. Until those points are verified, the accurate answer to “Does Novawave work in Australia?” is: possibly in some locations, but not proven for Australia.
