Costco’s US listing identifies the mattress as the Novaform 14-inch ComfortGrande Plus gel memory foam mattress, item 1413202. The listing gives a Queen size of 80 × 60 × 14 inches and a weight of 91 pounds, and it states that the bed frame, headboard, and accessories are not included. These are the retailer’s listed specifications, not independent measurements.

The gap between the Medium label and RTINGS’ Medium-Firm rating is a labeling difference, not a contradiction. Retail firmness labels are set by the seller, while RTINGS uses one fixed measurement method for every mattress it reviews.

Motion isolation is the standout. The reviewer found that movement from one side of the bed transfers little to the other, which matters most for couples with different sleep schedules. The foam is slow to return and slow to change shape, so it can feel sticky when you turn over or try to get up. Edge support is decent overall, but the edge compresses when you sit on the very outside of the mattress. Cooling is rated above the middle of the tested group, but a score is a comparison, not a guarantee that a hot sleeper will stay cool.
Who it suits, by sleep position and body weight
RTINGS’ guidance depends on how you sleep and how much you weigh. Read these as one reviewer’s findings rather than universal comfort or medical advice.

Side sleepers
Heavier side sleepers may sink far enough to get good pressure relief. Lighter side sleepers may feel pressure build at the arm and shoulder, because the foam does not sink enough to cushion those points.
Back sleepers
The mattress is described as a decent option for lighter back sleepers. Average- and heavier-weight back sleepers may sink more than ideal, which can leave the spine out of alignment.

Stomach sleepers
The reviewer’s stomach-sleeping guidance favors lighter sleepers. Average- and heavier-weight stomach sleepers may find the hips sink more than they would like.
Plus or Advanced: what changed
RTINGS reports that the ComfortGrande Plus has been discontinued and replaced by the ComfortGrande Advanced. The Advanced uses a different memory foam, marketed by Novaform as EVENcor GelMAX, and it may perform differently from the Plus. Results from the Plus review should not be assumed to apply to the Advanced, or the other way round.

Setup and delivery
Novaform’s current Advanced page describes that mattress as compressed in a box, compatible with platform beds, box springs, and adjustable bases, and possibly needing up to 48 hours to fully expand after unboxing. These setup claims belong to the Advanced. Do not assume the older Plus arrived or behaves the same way.
Foam certification
Novaform says the Advanced uses CertiPUR-US certified foam and is fiberglass-free. Those statements describe the manufacturer’s current Advanced product; they have not been verified for the discontinued Plus.

Warranty and returns
Costco Canada and Novaform list a 20-year limited warranty for the Advanced. That term is not established for the older US Plus in the sources reviewed, so confirm the warranty document for your exact mattress and purchase region.
A ComfortGrande limited-warranty document in the Innocor, Inc. name, hosted by Wirecutter, defines body impressions this way: “Severe body contours are impressions which exceed 1.5 inches in depth below the normal level of the product.” The document says coverage applies to the original purchaser and lists proof of purchase among the claim requirements. It is not confirmed that this document applies to every Plus variant, so check it against your own model before relying on the 1.5-inch threshold.
Owner experience
One Reddit user reported buying a ComfortGrande Plus in 2021, returning it to Costco after a durability problem, and receiving a refund. This is a single account. It does not show how Costco handles returns in general or how long a Plus typically lasts.
Before you buy: a checklist
- Confirm the model. The US Plus (item 1413202) and the Canadian Advanced (model 3080049) are different products.
- Check whether the listing you are looking at is the discontinued Plus or the current Advanced, and read the warranty that goes with it.
- Decide what matters most. Motion isolation and a firm all-foam feel suit the Plus. Pressure relief for lighter side sleepers and a more responsive surface are weaker areas.
- Measure the mattress height before buying sheets. Costco lists 14 inches, but RTINGS’ sample measured 13.7 inches. Buy deep-pocket fitted sheets and check their stated pocket depth against the measured height.
- Note that Novaform sells a ComfortGrande Plus Advanced 3-inch gel memory foam topper. Compatibility with the older Plus mattress is not established, so do not assume the topper fits it.
If you want a mattress that holds motion well and feels firm rather than soft, the Plus is a reasonable candidate for a Queen bed, provided you confirm the model and warranty first. If you need strong pressure relief, a more responsive surface, or a guaranteed warranty on a specific Plus unit, look at other options.
