Nova Minerals says key equipment for its planned antimony plant at Port MacKenzie, Alaska, arrived on October 6, 2026, and early earthworks are underway. Facility construction has not yet started: the company says it expects construction to begin in the coming weeks, after it receives the remaining permits. Nova also says its 2026 drilling at the Estelle project is complete, but samples have been sent for analysis and assay results are still pending.
When will Nova Minerals’ antimony plant start construction?
Nova Minerals’ October 8 announcement says facility construction is expected to commence after the company receives the remaining permits, which it anticipates in the coming weeks. The release does not say those permits have been granted. Early earthworks are underway, but that is not the same as construction of the processing and refinery facility having begun.

The company says the final major equipment shipment reached Port MacKenzie on October 6. It consisted of another 10 truckloads, following more than 40 containers that arrived by barge on September 6. The final shipment included two ball mills, a jaw crusher, an apron feeder, hydraulic filter presses and ancillary equipment. Nova says it sourced the processing and milling equipment from a recently decommissioned North American site to accelerate the project and reduce costs; those are the company’s stated rationale and expected benefits, not independently confirmed outcomes.

Nova describes the Port MacKenzie project as a modular processing and refinery facility intended initially to process stibnite-bearing material into antimony metal and military-grade trisulfide. The company says the project is supported by a $43.4 million U.S. Department of War award and is intended to help establish a domestic antimony supply chain. The announcement does not provide detailed award terms.

What happened during Estelle’s 2026 field season?
Nova reports that the season is complete, with approximately 8,000 metres of drilling by three diamond core rigs operating around the clock from June through September. The company’s reported drilling breakdown is:

- Bismuth is a chemical element with the symbol Bi and atomic number 83.
- The iridescent rainbow of colors is caused by light scattering off thin layers of bismuth oxide formed when the surface of the hot bismuth reacts with the air.
- Crystal bismuth will be oxidized during the production process, resulting in a variety color of the oxide film, it is very bright!
- Metal bismuth is a magnificent crystal which grows up in artificial environment. Each piece of bismuth crystal is unique and different from all other ones, so it's very meaningful to consider it as a gift to your relatives, friends, teacher and classmates.
- Bismuth chemically resembles arsenic and antimony. Bismuth is the most naturally diamagnetic element, and has one of the lowest values of thermal conductivity among metals.
- RPM: Approximately 4,200 metres for infill and expansion objectives, including the RPM North eastern strike extension and increased resource confidence at RPM Valley.
- Near RPM North: Approximately 1,500 metres targeting nearby expansion opportunities.
- Stibium: Approximately 800 metres of targeted drilling across gold and stibnite anomalies.
Nova also reports geological mapping and surface reconnaissance between RPM and Revelation, plus a detailed soil grid at Portage Pass. The release cites a maximum prior rock-chip result of 24.6 grams per tonne gold for the RPM–Revelation reconnaissance area. That figure refers to a previous surface sample, not a 2026 drilling result.
When will the assay results be available?
The company says samples and core were prepared and shipped to ALS for analysis, with results expected in due course or in the coming months. The October 8 update contains no assay outcomes from the 2026 program, so the drilling metres and targets should not be read as evidence of a new discovery or a measured change in resources.

What other work does Nova report at Estelle?
Alongside drilling, Nova says it continued Korbel metallurgical test work and environmental and technical studies. It also reports work on access and airstrip infrastructure, and preparation for onsite ore handling:
- Korbel–Stibium access road: The company reports construction is underway. It also says initial environmental baseline studies have begun for a proposed RPM road alignment.
- Whiskey Bravo airstrip: Nova reports expansion of the airstrip and apron, with the stated goal of accommodating C-130 Hercules aircraft. The company gives payload capacity as 7,000 pounds for a DC-3 and 42,000 pounds for a C-130; these are company-stated figures and the C-130 capacity is a target capability, not a report that the upgrade is complete.
- Crushing and ore sorting: Nova says steel fabrication and site preparation are underway for an onsite facility at Whiskey Bravo. The announcement does not say that the facility is operating.
