Bloomberg reported on March 31, 2026, that Nothing was targeting the first half of 2027 for the glasses. Nothing has not publicly confirmed a product name, specifications, price, launch markets or event date, so this remains reported planning rather than a retail announcement.
What Nothing is reportedly launching next
Nothing has built its identity around smartphones and audio products, but the clearest report about its next category points elsewhere. Bloomberg’s Mark Gurman wrote on March 31, 2026, that Nothing Technology Ltd. was working on artificial-intelligence-enhanced smart glasses and planning a release during the first half of 2027, citing people familiar with the matter.

The same report said Nothing was also working on AI-focused earbuds for later in 2026. That makes the roadmap broader than one pair of glasses: the company appears to be developing a family of AI-native products, with audio arriving before the more ambitious wearable.
The glasses plan has not been announced as a finished consumer product. Nothing has not disclosed the final name, industrial design, technical specifications, price, supported countries, retail partners or launch event.

What Nothing itself has confirmed about its direction
Nothing’s Series C strategy describes an operating-system and hardware vision that extends beyond phones and earbuds. The company says future systems could span smartphones, audio products, smart watches, smart glasses, humanoid robots and electric vehicles. It also says it expects to launch “some of our first AI-native devices next year.”
That statement is deliberately wider than a smart-glasses announcement. It establishes a strategic direction, not a complete product roadmap. In a February 17, 2026 Euronews interview, co-founder and CEO Carl Pei said 2026 would be “the first year where we start delivering some of our AI-native product ideas” and that Nothing would invest more in headphones during the year. The timing fits a sequence in which AI audio products could appear in 2026 while glasses remain a reported 2027 project.

- Your favorite music and content – Play music, audiobooks, and podcasts from Amazon Music, Apple Music, Spotify and others or via Bluetooth throughout your home.
- Alexa is happy to help – Ask Alexa for weather updates and to set hands-free timers, get answers to your questions and even hear jokes. Need a few extra minutes in the morning? Just tap your Echo Dot to snooze your alarm.
- Keep your home comfortable – Control compatible smart home devices with your voice and routines triggered by built-in motion or indoor temperature sensors. Create routines to automatically turn on lights when you walk into a room, or start a fan if the inside temperature goes above your comfort zone.
- Do more with device pairing – Fill your home with music using compatible Echo devices in different rooms, or create a home theatre system with Fire TV.
- Say goodbye to drop-offs and buffering - With eero Built-in, Echo Dot doubles as a mesh wifi extender, adding up to 1,000 sq. ft. of wifi coverage to your existing eero network.
Why the expansion is plausible
Nothing is no longer a small phone experiment. Its company information says it has a global community of more than six million people, has released more than 30 products and operates in over 60 countries. Nothing also says it exceeded $1 billion in total sales in 2025 and grew 150% in 2024. Those figures do not confirm a glasses launch, but they help explain why the company is exploring hardware categories that require a larger ecosystem.

What a Nothing AI wearable could feel like
Pei’s comments suggest that the important change would not simply be adding a camera or voice assistant to familiar eyewear. Speaking at SXSW, he said, “In terms of AI in software, I think people should understand that apps are going to disappear.” He also argued that “It’s very hard to get things done on a phone.”

His stated alternative is an agent that understands a person’s intention and carries it out instead of making the user open several apps and complete each step manually: “I think the future of smartphones or operating systems should just be: ‘I know you very well, and if I know your intention, I just do it for you,’ instead of having to go through all the apps manually.”
He added, “That’s not the future. The future is not the agent using a human interface. You need to create an interface for the agent to use. I think that’s the more future-proof way of doing it.”

Applied to glasses, that could mean hands-free context capture through microphones and cameras, with an AI agent deciding which service or action is needed. Nothing’s strategy post describes systems that know users deeply, adapt interfaces to context, surface suggestions naturally and execute confirmed intent. Those are design goals, not published specifications. Until Nothing explains its permissions model, users should not assume that any camera, microphone or personal-data behavior has been settled.

- Product identity: No official name or product images have been published in the available evidence.
- Hardware: Nothing has not stated whether the glasses will include a display, what cameras or speakers they will use, or how they will be controlled.
- Phone dependence: It is not known whether the device will require a Nothing phone, work with other Android phones or support an iPhone.
- Software: Nothing has described an agent-led direction, but has not released a consumer interface or explained which tasks will run locally versus through cloud services.
- Privacy: Data retention, recording indicators, permission controls and account requirements have not been announced.
- Battery and comfort: There are no public battery-life, weight, charging or prescription-lens details.
- Commercial details: Price, launch countries, carriers, retailers and the official launch date remain unconfirmed.
How to interpret the 2027 timing
“First half of 2027” is a reported target attributed to unnamed sources, not a public commitment. Hardware schedules can change, especially for a first-generation wearable that combines optics, cameras, audio, wireless connectivity and an AI service. The 2026 statements from Nothing confirm that AI products are being prioritized, but they do not guarantee that the glasses will ship on Bloomberg’s reported schedule.

Readers should therefore separate three levels of certainty: Nothing’s official AI-native strategy; Pei’s public comments about agent-led software and 2026 delivery; and Bloomberg’s reported glasses target. Only the first two are direct public statements from Nothing leadership, while the specific glasses date remains sourcing-based.
What to watch before treating it as a real launch
- Look for an official Nothing announcement naming the product and supported markets.
- Check whether Nothing publishes specifications for cameras, microphones, speakers, displays, connectivity and battery life.
- Read the privacy documentation before enabling always-available audio or visual context.
- Confirm phone compatibility and whether core functions work without a Nothing handset.
- Wait for a price, warranty terms and a firm retail date before judging the product against existing AI wearables.
For now, the accurate answer to “What is Nothing launching next?” is: likely an AI-native wearable, with AI-enhanced smart glasses the clearest reported candidate for the first half of 2027. AI earbuds are reportedly earlier, while the company’s official ambition reaches across several future form factors.
