The choice comes down to camera flexibility versus battery capacity: the Nothing Phone (4a) is listed with a periscope telephoto and ultrawide rear camera, while vivo’s India-spec S2 has a larger 7,050mAh battery and a slightly larger display. The “S2 5G” name is used by a comparison site; vivo’s official India pages call the model S2 and confirm 5G support. Prices shown for the two phones come from different markets and are not a like-for-like comparison.

Which phone has the better camera?
Nothing Phone (4a): more listed rear-camera options
The listed rear setup pairs a main camera with a periscope telephoto offering up to 3.5x optical zoom and an ultrawide camera. That gives it more stated hardware flexibility for distant subjects and wider scenes than the vivo S2’s listed two-camera rear setup. These specifications do not prove which phone takes better photos: image processing, lighting, stabilization, and independent side-by-side results matter too.
vivo S2: simpler rear setup, same stated selfie resolution
vivo lists a 50MP main rear camera and a 2MP secondary camera, plus a 32MP front camera. The comparison listing also gives the Nothing a 32MP front camera. Matching megapixel counts alone do not establish equal selfie quality.

Which has the better battery and charging?
vivo lists a 7,050mAh battery and 44W charging; the Nothing comparison listing gives 5,400mAh and 50W. The vivo therefore has the larger published capacity, while the Nothing has the higher stated charging wattage. Capacity and rated charging power alone cannot determine real-world runtime or charging time, which also depend on usage, software, and charging conditions.
vivo’s India overview says its laboratory testing found at least 80% battery capacity retained after 1,600 complete charge cycles. vivo qualifies that result as a lab claim that can vary with test equipment, environment, and usage; it is not a guarantee of the battery’s performance in every owner’s phone. See vivo’s S2 overview.

Display size and refresh rate
The listed difference is modest: vivo’s panel is 6.83 inches and specified as up to 120Hz; the Nothing is listed at 6.78 inches and 120Hz. The panel descriptions are not identical—vivo specifies AMOLED, while 91mobiles describes the Nothing display as flexible AMOLED—so these figures do not establish a broader display-quality winner.

The listings name a Snapdragon 7s Gen 4 for Nothing and a MediaTek Dimensity 7360-Turbo for vivo. Without independent tests under comparable conditions, those names alone are not enough to declare one faster for gaming, multitasking, or battery efficiency.
Software and updates
The cited pages list Nothing OS for the Phone (4a), with Essential AI tools mentioned on Nothing’s UK product page, and Android 16 with OriginOS 6 for the vivo S2. vivo’s S2 overview states a commitment to three generations of OS updates and five years of security updates, with the three-year period counted from the local launch event. Check the terms for the exact market and software build before buying; update schedules can vary by region.
What is the price difference?
There is no reliable like-for-like price gap in the cited listings. Nothing’s UK storefront displays £379 for the 8GB/128GB Phone (4a), while 91mobiles shows ₹34,999 for the Nothing in India and marks it out of stock. The same comparison page lists the vivo S2 5G at ₹39,999 with an Amazon reference. These are different currencies and listing contexts, and the comparison page’s figures do not guarantee current checkout prices, stock, seller, or identical configurations. Check a local retailer for the same storage tier, taxes, warranty, and availability.

vivo’s official India specification page calls the model S2 and lists 5G bands and dual 5G dual-SIM standby. “S2 5G” is the comparison site’s product naming. Network band support and the model name can differ across markets, so check compatibility with your carrier and the precise regional model rather than relying on the comparison title.
vivo’s India page lists IP68 and IP69 ratings, but also warns: “The resistance to water, water jets and dust is not permanent and may be reduced with daily use.” A rating is not a promise that liquid damage will be covered by warranty.
Quick Recap
Before ordering either phone, verify:
- The exact model name, RAM/storage configuration, and local 5G bands.
- Current stock, final checkout price, seller, and warranty terms in your country.
- Software-update terms applicable to your region.
- What is in the box. vivo’s India specification page lists a charger, case, and applied protective film; do not assume bundles are identical across markets.
