Which phone has the more useful camera setup?
The Phone (4a) has the more versatile listed rear-camera arrangement if you want a dedicated zoom camera. Its 50 MP periscope telephoto is reported to offer 3.5× optical zoom, alongside a main camera and ultra-wide. The M47’s listed secondary cameras are an ultra-wide and a low-resolution macro camera, rather than a telephoto.

That hardware difference can matter when framing distant subjects: optical zoom uses a dedicated telephoto lens, while cropping a main-camera image is not the same capability. It does not prove that the Nothing phone produces better photos overall. Sensor processing, lens quality and software also matter, and no comparative image-quality test is established here. Front-camera resolution is listed as 32 MP for Nothing and 12 MP for Samsung; megapixel counts alone do not establish which takes better selfies.
Battery capacity and charging: what the figures establish
Samsung’s reported 6,000 mAh capacity exceeds the two Phone (4a) figures found in the cited sources: 5,080 mAh in Nothing Community’s announcement and 5,400 mAh in 91mobiles’ listing. Because the Nothing figures conflict, avoid treating either as an uncontested specification. M47 charging is reported at 45 W, compared with 50 W for the Phone (4a).
Capacity is not a runtime test. Actual time between charges depends on factors such as display use, network conditions, software and workload; the available sources do not establish which phone lasts longer under comparable use. Nor do the wattage figures alone establish charging time under real-world conditions.

Display and chipset differences
Both phones are reported to have AMOLED displays with a 120 Hz refresh rate. Nothing’s listed panel is 6.78 inches with 1224 × 2720 resolution. M47’s display size is inconsistent across the comparison sources: 91mobiles lists 6.66 inches, while Gadgets 360 lists 6.70 inches. The available specifications do not support a precise claim about which display looks better.
The listed chipsets are Snapdragon 7s Gen 4 for Nothing and Snapdragon 6 Gen 3 for Samsung. Those model names are useful for identifying the hardware, but they are not a substitute for benchmark results or tests of the specific tasks you care about. No directly comparable performance testing is established in the cited material.
Software and update support
Secondary sources report Android 16 with Nothing OS 4.1 for the Phone (4a), and Android 16 with One UI 8.5 for the M47. Cinco Días / Smartlife reports that Samsung committed to up to six generations of OS upgrades and six years of security patches for the M47. The sources cited here do not confirm an equivalent Nothing commitment, so buyers weighing long-term support should check Nothing’s current first-party policy for the exact regional model.

The available prices do not form a like-for-like comparison. Nothing’s UK store showed £379 for the selected 8 GB + 128 GB Phone (4a) when checked. Nothing Community’s March 2026 launch announcement instead listed launch prices by market and configuration: 8 GB + 128 GB at £349, ₹31,999 or €349; 8 GB + 256 GB at ₹34,999 or €389; and 12 GB + 256 GB at £399, ₹37,999 or €429. Those are announcement-era prices, not confirmed current street prices.
For the M47, Cinco Días / Smartlife reported a ₹22,999 launch price in India on June 29, 2026, with sales scheduled to begin July 4. Samsung India’s store snapshot identifies an 8 GB + 128 GB Rogue Red variant and a 256 GB storage selector, but currently says “Not for sale” and does not provide usable prices. The reported launch configuration and the official store listing do not fully align.
These figures cover different markets, dates and listing conditions; subtracting one from another would produce a misleading price gap. To compare what you would actually pay, check current local listings for the same country and storage tier, and confirm that the M47 variant is available from a seller you trust.
Which one should you choose?
Choose the Nothing Phone (4a) if
- You value a dedicated telephoto camera and reported 3.5× optical zoom more than having a macro camera.
- You are comparing the Snapdragon 7s Gen 4 model with the M47’s listed Snapdragon 6 Gen 3, while recognizing that model names alone do not predict results for your workload.
- You can confirm a current local price and want its reported 50 W charging rather than Samsung’s reported 45 W.
Consider the Samsung Galaxy M47 5G if
- You prefer its reported 6,000 mAh battery capacity, while treating real-world runtime as unverified.
- Samsung’s reported OS and security support commitment is important to you.
- You can find the exact regional configuration in stock at a price that works; the official Samsung India page’s current “Not for sale” status makes a live availability check especially important.
Neither set of specifications establishes an overall winner. Prioritize the camera type, support policy, battery evidence and actual local price that matter most to you.
Release and regional availability
Nothing Community said global preorders for the Phone (4a) began March 5, 2026, and open sales began March 13. Some comparison databases label March 5 as the launch date, which appears to refer to the announcement or preorder timing rather than the start of open sales.

The M47 coverage cited here concerns India: Cinco Días / Smartlife reported a June 29, 2026 launch and sales scheduled for July 4. Samsung’s store page currently shows no sale status, so that reporting does not guarantee present stock or availability in another country. Confirm the country-specific SKU before buying.
