Display: 144Hz versus 120Hz
Both phones are listed with the same 6.83-inch AMOLED size and 1260 × 2800 resolution. The Nothing has the higher listed refresh rate at 144Hz, compared with 120Hz for vivo. That is a difference in the stated display specification, not proof by itself of better brightness, color accuracy, or overall viewing quality.

Cameras: more framing choices on Nothing
Nothing’s listed rear setup includes a periscope telephoto camera with 3.5x optical zoom and an ultrawide in addition to its main camera. The vivo listing has a main camera and a depth sensor, with no ultrawide listed. On paper, Nothing offers more options for framing distant subjects and wide scenes. Megapixel counts and camera hardware alone do not establish which phone takes better photos or video.
Battery, charging, and weight
The vivo S2 5G is listed with a 7,050mAh battery, larger than the Nothing phone’s 5,400mAh battery. Nothing has the higher listed wired charging power, 50W versus 44W. Capacity does not guarantee longer real-world runtime, and wattage alone does not determine charging time; usage, software, charger, and charging conditions matter. The vivo is listed at 197g, 13g lighter than the Nothing at 210g.
Water-resistance ratings
91mobiles reports IP65 for Nothing and IP68/IP69 for vivo. These ratings indicate different levels of tested ingress protection; they are not a promise that a phone cannot be damaged by water. Protection can diminish with wear, and an ingress rating does not establish that liquid damage is covered by warranty. Check the warranty terms and the specifications for your local variant before exposing either phone to water.

Which phone should you choose?
- Choose the Nothing Phone (4a) Pro on paper if a higher listed refresh rate and more rear-camera focal lengths—especially a periscope telephoto and ultrawide—matter most.
- Consider the vivo S2 5G on paper if you prioritize its larger listed battery, lower listed weight, or higher reported IP rating.
- Do not choose based on an assumed price winner. Verify the current price for the exact storage configuration in your market, since the available price references are not all like-for-like.

Model and release-date caveat
Nothing’s product page is a UK retail listing, while the cited Amazon prices and detailed comparison data relate to India. The vivo S2 5G’s date is inconsistent across the available third-party sources: 91mobiles gives August 11, 2026 in its summary and August 6, 2026 in its detailed section; the community post refers to an August 6 launch. The available sources do not resolve that discrepancy. vivo’s official security page lists “S2, S2 5G” in support material, but does not verify the full consumer specifications or pricing discussed above.
