On the reported Indian launch prices, the Motorola Edge 70 Pro+ 5G was ₹2,000 cheaper and included more RAM and storage in its listed configuration. It also has the larger reported battery, faster charging and a higher-tier listed chipset. Nothing Phone (4a) Pro counters with a slightly larger display and a longer reported security-update commitment. Which is better value depends on current checkout prices, the configuration you compare and which features matter most.

Price difference in India

Launch prices reported by Gadgets 360 compare different base configurations: Motorola’s ₹47,999 model has 12GB RAM and 256GB storage, while Nothing’s ₹49,999 entry model has 8GB RAM and 128GB storage. Nothing also launched 8GB/256GB at ₹52,999 and 12GB/256GB at ₹55,999, according to the same report.

Those are reported launch prices, not guaranteed current prices. Comparison-site snapshots differ: 91mobiles listed Nothing at ₹46,479 and Motorola at ₹47,999 on Flipkart; Smartprix listed them at ₹46,699 and ₹48,937, respectively. These snapshots are not live price guarantees. Check the retailer’s price for the exact RAM and storage variant before deciding.

Specifications in this comparison are publisher-reported, rather than independent measurements. The Nothing figures come from the India product listing and comparison reporting; Motorola specifications are reported by secondary publishers, as no Motorola product page is cited here. Check regional product terms and warranty details, especially for durability ratings.

Performance and storage: Motorola has the stronger published configuration

The listed Dimensity 8500 Extreme and 12GB RAM give Motorola the more powerful-looking configuration on paper. Nothing uses the Snapdragon 7 Gen 4 and offers up to 12GB RAM, but its reported storage is UFS 3.1 rather than Motorola’s UFS 4.1. For buyers comparing the base offerings, Motorola also supplies twice the storage and more RAM than Nothing’s 8GB/128GB entry model.

As a third-party comparison, 91mobiles reports Geekbench multi-core scores of 4,314 for Nothing and 7,054 for Motorola, and AnTuTu scores of 1,411,440 and 2,217,003, respectively. These figures depend on the devices, software and test conditions; they are not results from testing for this article. Treat them as one publisher’s comparison, not a guarantee of how a phone will perform in every game or app.

Displays: nearly the same size, with brightness claims to qualify

Both phones are listed with 1.5K-resolution, 144Hz displays. Nothing’s screen is specified at 6.83 inches, slightly larger than Motorola’s approximately 6.8-inch panel. The reported peak-brightness figures are 5,000 nits for Nothing and 5,200 nits for Motorola; these are specifications, not independent brightness measurements. The small difference in those advertised peaks alone does not establish which screen is easier to read outdoors.

Cameras: compare the lenses, not just megapixels

Nothing pairs a 50MP main camera with OIS and a 50MP telephoto camera, plus an 8MP ultrawide. Motorola’s reported rear array consists of three 50MP cameras, including an OIS-equipped periscope telephoto and a 50MP ultrawide. That gives Motorola the higher stated ultrawide resolution, while both listings include a telephoto option. Resolution alone does not establish which phone takes better photos.

  • Heavy-duty bumper frame case
  • Anti-slip embossed texture for a secure grip
  • Non-yellowing TPU bumper and polycarbonate back
  • Air Cushion Bumper design for enhanced shock protection
  • Built-in strap holes to attach wrist straps and other accessories

Zoom specifications are described inconsistently across the comparison sources. Gadgets 360 says Motorola has 3x zoom and describes Nothing’s support as 140x “Ultra Zoom”; 91mobiles and Smartprix list up to 3.5x optical zoom for the periscope units. Do not treat a marketed maximum or digital-zoom figure as equivalent to optical zoom, or assume the sources establish a definitive optical factor for both phones.

For selfies, the reported hardware is a 32MP front camera on Nothing and a 50MP autofocus camera on Motorola. The extra megapixels and autofocus are features to weigh if you take frequent selfies or video calls, but they do not by themselves prove better image quality.

Battery and charging: Motorola has the bigger capacity and more options

Motorola’s listed 6,500mAh battery is larger than Nothing’s 5,400mAh unit. Its reported charging specifications are also higher: 90W wired and 15W wireless, compared with Nothing’s 50W wired charging and no wireless charging reported. Capacity and charging ratings do not establish actual battery life or charging time for a particular user.

91mobiles lists a battery-duration result of 14 hours 11 minutes for Motorola and 13 hours 49 minutes for Nothing. The retrieved comparison does not provide enough test-method detail to generalize those results to everyday use, so treat the difference as a publisher-reported comparison rather than a prediction of your screen time.

Software support, durability and carrying weight

Both phones are reported to run Android 16-based software and receive three OS upgrades. Gadgets 360 reports six years of security updates for Nothing and five years for Motorola. On that stated commitment, Nothing offers one additional year of security updates.

The same comparison reports IP65 for Nothing and IP68/IP69 plus MIL-810H for Motorola. These ratings are not a substitute for checking the exact regional model’s terms or warranty. Motorola is also reported to weigh 190g against Nothing’s 210g, a 20g difference that may matter if you carry your phone all day.

Which phone should you choose?

Choose Motorola if you prioritize hardware per rupee

  • You want the reported higher-tier chipset and 12GB/256GB configuration.
  • You value a larger battery, faster wired charging or wireless charging.
  • You want a 50MP ultrawide and a 50MP autofocus selfie camera on the published specification sheet.
  • You prefer the lighter reported weight and higher listed durability ratings.

Choose Nothing if long-term security support or a larger screen matters more

  • You want the slightly larger 6.83-inch display.
  • You value the six-year security-update commitment reported by Gadgets 360, rather than Motorola’s five years.
  • You can get the Nothing configuration you want at a checkout price that makes sense against Motorola’s 12GB/256GB model.

For a fair value comparison, compare Nothing’s 12GB/256GB variant against Motorola’s 12GB/256GB configuration, then check current retailer prices. The launch-price comparison between the two entry models is not like-for-like because their RAM and storage differ.
