What is the price difference?
Nothing’s UK product collection showed the Lite from £249 and the Phone (3a) from £329 when checked in 2026: an £80 difference between starting prices (Nothing UK). The collection view does not establish that those prices refer to the same RAM and storage configuration, so treat £80 as a starting-price gap—not a universal premium for a directly matched pair.
For context, TechRadar reported UK Lite launch prices in 2025 of £249 for 128GB and £279 for 256GB, and Australian launch prices of AU$439 and AU$489 respectively. Those are historical launch prices, not current quotes (TechRadar). Nothing Europe’s Phone (3a) page displayed €329 for 8GB RAM/128GB storage and €379 for 12GB/256GB in the page view reviewed; those European prices should not be converted into or substituted for UK prices (Nothing Europe).

Before choosing on price, compare the exact storage and RAM tier, seller, and local offer for both phones. A lower entry price may not mean the same storage, and retailer discounts or availability can change the gap.
Where the Phone (3a) is different
It has a dedicated telephoto camera
The standard 3a pairs a 50MP main camera with optical image stabilization (OIS), an 8MP ultra-wide and a 50MP telephoto camera offering 2x optical zoom, according to Nothing’s European specifications (Nothing). The Lite’s reported rear-camera set instead includes a 2MP macro camera alongside its 50MP main and 8MP ultra-wide cameras (Android Central).
That makes the 3a the more relevant choice if you often want a tighter shot of a distant subject without relying only on digital cropping. The Lite’s macro camera serves a different purpose—close-up subjects—rather than replacing a telephoto lens. These specifications describe hardware, not comparative photo quality; no controlled image testing is established here.
Its listed charging rate is higher
Nothing specifies 50W charging for the 3a; Android Central reports 33W wired charging for the Lite. Both are listed with 5,000mAh batteries (Nothing; Android Central). The wattage difference indicates the stated charging capability, not a guaranteed charge time: no comparable timed charging test is available here.

Its dust-and-water rating is higher
The 3a carries an official IP64 rating, while the Lite is reported as IP54-rated (Nothing; Android Central). These ratings are not a promise that either phone is waterproof; follow the manufacturer’s care guidance and do not deliberately expose a phone to water.
It uses a different processor and has a higher-resolution selfie camera
The 3a’s Snapdragon 7s Gen 3 is specified by Nothing, while the Lite’s Dimensity 7300 Pro is reported by Android Central. Nothing lists a 32MP front camera on the 3a; Android Central reports 16MP for the Lite. Those component numbers alone do not establish which phone is faster in a particular app or takes better selfies, and there are no directly comparable benchmark or camera-test results to cite here.

It costs less at the UK entry price
At the UK starting prices shown by Nothing in 2026, the Lite is £80 below the 3a. That makes it the price-led option if its exact local configuration meets your needs; the starting prices do not prove an equivalent storage comparison (Nothing UK).
Do these 3 things before closing this tab:
1Repair Windows errors before they cause bigger problems2Scan for outdated or missing drivers - takes under a minute3Clear out junk files and repair common Windows errorsIt offers reported microSD expansion
Android Central and TechRadar report microSD expansion on the Lite (Android Central; TechRadar). That may be useful if you keep a large offline music, video or photo library. The sources reviewed do not establish the maximum supported card capacity, so check Nothing’s local documentation before buying a card.

Display, battery and software: what the headline specs do—and do not—tell you
Both phones are reported to have a 6.77-inch display with a 120Hz refresh rate and a 5,000mAh battery. Nothing calls the 3a panel AMOLED; Android Central describes the Lite panel as OLED. The shared size and refresh-rate figures do not establish identical display technology, brightness or image quality, and the same battery capacity does not show which device lasts longer between charges.
Nothing’s European Phone (3a) specifications list Nothing OS 3.1 based on Android 15 on the page reviewed, with three years of Android updates and six years of security patches. Android Central reports the Lite launched with Nothing OS 3.5 based on Android 15, with three major Android upgrades and six years of security updates. These are support commitments as stated by the cited sources, not confirmation of the latest software version available in every region. Check local support information for current rollout details.
Which one should you buy?
- Choose the Phone (3a) if 2x optical zoom, a 50MP telephoto camera, 50W stated charging or the IP64 rating matters enough to justify its higher UK starting price.
- Choose the Phone (3a) Lite if keeping the upfront cost lower is your priority or reported microSD expansion fits how you store media, and you can do without the 3a’s telephoto camera and higher listed charging rate.
- Compare exact local variants first if the decision is close: match RAM and storage, check current seller prices and stock, and confirm carrier-band compatibility for your country rather than assuming one market’s model works identically elsewhere.
For the standard 3a, Nothing’s European page lists 8GB/128GB and 12GB/256GB variants, dual nano-SIM support and no eSIM. Those details are region-specific and should not be assumed to describe every market’s 3a or Lite configuration (Nothing Europe).
