On the manufacturers’ own specifications, the vivo X300 FE is the stronger pick if you care about a compact body, a higher-tier processor, a bigger battery, wireless charging, and higher dust and water resistance ratings. The Nothing Phone (3a) Pro makes more sense if you want a larger 6.77-inch screen, a 3x periscope telephoto camera with optical stabilisation, or the lower official price in the one market where both prices are listed side by side.
There is no single, reliable price difference between the two phones. The official Nothing Europe listing and the India prices on a 91mobiles comparison page are for different markets, and neither source confirms matching storage configurations. The figures below are dated snapshots, not a standing price gap.

Specifications at a glance
The table uses the values printed on each brand’s product pages. Where a page does not give a figure, the cell says so rather than filling the gap with an estimate.

Size and display
The vivo X300 FE is the compact phone. Its 6.31-inch screen and 191 g weight sit against the Nothing’s 6.77-inch panel and 211 g. If you hold a phone in one hand or prefer a narrower body, the vivo is the easier device to live with. If you watch video or read on a bigger surface, the Nothing gives you more area.

Nothing’s 6.77-inch screen is a flexible AMOLED panel with a 120Hz refresh rate. vivo’s page does not state its panel type or refresh rate, so no like-for-like display comparison is possible from the vivo side.
Processor and memory
The processor gap is the clearest hardware difference on paper. The Snapdragon 7s Gen 3 in the Nothing is a midrange chip built on a 4nm process. vivo lists the Snapdragon 8 Gen 5, a newer and higher-tier chipset, alongside LPDDR5X Ultra memory and UFS 4.1 storage.
A chip tier is not the same as day-to-day speed. Sustained performance depends on thermal design, software tuning and the storage configuration you buy, none of which the spec sheets fully describe.
Cameras
Both phones use a 50MP main camera and a 50MP telephoto lens with 3x optical zoom, so the telephoto comparison is closer than the rest of the list suggests. Nothing lists optical image stabilisation on both its main and periscope lenses. vivo’s page lists its main and telephoto cameras as ZEISS-branded and gives a 100x digital zoom ceiling for the telephoto lens. Its ultra-wide is 110 degrees, compared with the Nothing’s 120 degrees.
vivo also sells a ZEISS Telephoto Extender Gen 2 separately, which its page says is compatible with the X300 FE and gives a 200mm-equivalent focal length. It is an optional accessory and is not included with the phone. Neither manufacturer page includes image samples or a direct quality comparison, so the spec sheet cannot tell you which phone takes better photos.
Battery and charging
vivo states a larger battery. Its India product page gives the figure in a way that separates typical and rated capacity, and that wording is worth quoting exactly: “The typical battery capacity is 6500 mAh, and the rated battery capacity is 6350 mAh.”
Nothing lists a 5000mAh battery and 50W wired charging, and it claims up to 26 hours of YouTube playback. That is Nothing’s own claim; the test conditions behind it are not stated on the page. Battery life depends heavily on screen brightness, network use and workload, so treat both brands’ runtime claims as directional rather than guaranteed. vivo’s advantage on paper is wireless charging at 40W, which the Nothing does not list.

Durability ratings
vivo lists IP68 and IP69 ratings, while Nothing lists IP64. These are laboratory classifications under controlled conditions. vivo also notes that water and dust resistance can decline as the phone ages and takes wear. A rating tells you how the phone performed in a specific test, not that it is safe in every splash, pool or outdoor setting. Neither manufacturer describes the phone as professional-grade waterproof equipment.
Software and update commitments
Nothing commits to three years of Android updates and six years of security patches. vivo’s India page lists up to five years of OS upgrades and seven years of security updates. Both are manufacturer commitments. Update terms can differ by region and can change, so check the current policy for your country before you rely on either timeline.
Price difference: what the listings actually show
Price is where a reader is most likely to want a single answer, and it is where the evidence is weakest. The two sources below use different markets and do not confirm storage configurations for a like-for-like match.
| Market | Nothing Phone (3a) Pro | vivo X300 FE | Source |
|---|---|---|---|
| Europe | €459 for 12GB RAM and 256GB storage | Not stated | Nothing Europe product page |
| India | ₹27,999 | ₹94,999 (storage variant not stated) | 91mobiles side-by-side comparison page |
On the India listings alone, the gap is ₹67,000. That figure is simple arithmetic on two listing prices that may not match in storage, and it applies only to the date the page was checked. It is not a verified price difference.
How to check a fair price comparison
- Choose one country and check both phones in that country’s official store and at least one major retailer.
- Match the storage and memory configuration. Nothing’s European listing is 12GB RAM plus 256GB storage; confirm the same variant exists for the vivo.
- Include any bundled extras and the cost of optional accessories, such as the separately sold vivo telephoto extender.
- Record the date and currency. Prices, stock and promotions change without notice.
Launch dates and benchmark figures
The 91mobiles comparison page gives a launch date of 11 March 2025 for the Nothing and 14 May 2026 for the vivo. Neither manufacturer page reviewed here confirms those dates, so treat them as context rather than verified facts.
The same page reports third-party benchmark results: Geekbench multi-core scores of 3,325 for the Nothing and 9,051 for the vivo; AnTuTu scores of 809,554 and 3,000,897; and PCMark battery results of 14h 26m and 16h 04m. The testing method, test conditions and firmware versions behind those numbers are not stated. They are not manufacturer specifications, and they should not be read as a guarantee of everyday speed or battery life. This article did not include hands-on camera or battery testing.
Which phone fits which buyer
Choose the vivo X300 FE if
- You want a smaller, lighter phone with a 6.31-inch screen.
- Processor tier matters more to you than screen size.
- You want a larger rated battery, 90W wired charging and 40W wireless charging.
- You want higher IP68 and IP69 ratings and longer stated software support.
Choose the Nothing Phone (3a) Pro if
- A 6.77-inch 120Hz screen is the priority.
- You want a 3x optical periscope camera with stabilisation on both the main and telephoto lenses.
- Your market lists it at a lower price than the vivo, confirmed for matching storage.
- You are comfortable with IP64 protection and a three-year Android update commitment.
Decide before you buy
If you cannot confirm a same-country, matched-storage price for both phones, make the choice on the specifications that matter to you, not on a headline price gap. Check the exact regional model, because specifications and update terms can vary by market.
