Which display is better on paper?
The Nothing phone’s 6.77-inch AMOLED panel has a listed resolution of 1080 × 2392, while the vivo’s slightly smaller 6.75-inch LCD is listed at 1570 × 720. Both are listed as 120Hz displays, although vivo’s store describes its refresh rate as up to 120Hz. That gives Nothing the clear specification advantage in panel type and resolution; it does not, by itself, establish brightness, outdoor visibility, color accuracy, or overall viewing quality.
How do the cameras compare?
Nothing is listed with three rear cameras: a 50MP main, 8MP ultra-wide, and 2MP macro. The vivo has a 50MP + 2MP rear setup, and its official store specifies an 8MP front camera; 91mobiles lists a 16MP front camera for Nothing. The extra ultra-wide lens gives Nothing a listed camera option not shown for vivo, but megapixel counts and camera count alone do not predict photo quality. Comparable camera tests were not established in the reviewed sources.

Battery capacity, charging and everyday use
vivo specifies a 7200mAh typical battery and 44W charging for the Y51 Pro 5G. 91mobiles lists 5000mAh and 33W for the Nothing phone. The vivo therefore has the larger stated capacity and higher rated charging wattage, but those figures do not establish which phone lasts longer in use or how long either takes to charge. vivo describes the battery on its product page as a “7200 mAh Battery with AI Sleep Mode for Extended Life”; that is manufacturer wording, not independent battery-test evidence.
Independent reader supportYour contribution helps us test, update, and keep practical guides available for everyone.Durability: understand the ratings and limits
vivo advertises IP68/IP69 protection, while 91mobiles lists IP54 for Nothing. These are different protection ratings, not a guarantee that either phone is damage-proof. vivo warns that water resistance may degrade over time, says to dry the USB port before connecting or charging, and limits the conditions for underwater photography. Follow the manufacturer’s care instructions rather than treating the rating as permission for unrestricted water exposure.
Software, configuration and weight
91mobiles lists Android 15 with Nothing OS for the Nothing phone and Android 16 with OriginOS for the vivo. Nothing’s official India page names Nothing OS 3.5 and shows an 8GB/128GB selection. vivo’s store lists 8GB/128GB and 8GB/256GB configurations. The reviewed pages do not establish a comparable software-update support commitment for both models, so version numbers alone cannot show which phone will receive updates for longer.

The listed weights are 199g for Nothing and 219g for vivo, making the vivo 20g heavier on the published specifications. Consider that difference if a lighter handset matters to you.
Price difference: compare like for like
In the Amazon-labelled snapshot displayed by 91mobiles, the Nothing Phone (3a) Lite was ₹28,240 and the vivo Y51 Pro 5G was ₹32,499. The listed vivo price was ₹4,259 higher. This is a dated marketplace comparison, not an official or guaranteed current price; the reviewed snapshot does not establish matching memory configurations, sellers, or stock for those two listings.
Separately, vivo’s India E-Store listed the Y51 Pro 5G in Noble Gold, 8GB/128GB, at ₹34,999 inclusive of taxes and marked that selected configuration unavailable on the captured page. Nothing’s official India page showed an 8GB/128GB selection and a Flipkart link but no price in the captured page. Since these are different sales channels and availability can change, do not use the vivo store price to calculate a direct difference against Nothing’s Amazon-labelled listing. Check the exact variant, seller, stock, and checkout price before buying.
Which phone should you choose?
Choose Nothing if your priorities are
- A higher-resolution AMOLED display on the published specification comparison.
- An ultra-wide rear camera option.
- A lower listed weight.
Choose vivo if your priorities are
- A substantially larger stated battery and higher rated charging wattage.
- The manufacturer-advertised IP68/IP69 protection rating, while observing vivo’s care limitations.
- An available 8GB/256GB storage option on the official store listing.
There are no directly comparable independent test results for these two phones in the reviewed sources. Treat processor names as specifications rather than proof of a performance winner, and verify display experience, camera results, battery life, and software-support needs against your own priorities.
